I don’t know why his supposed love of Lily erased everything bad he ever did. Order of the Phoenix and Half Blood Prince were practically month by month reports on his torment of Harry.

Also, Sirius was the only Pure-Blooded Wizard in the franchise who, seriously(Get it?), put his neck on the line to challenge his own family and the Wizarding World`s blood supremacism attitude despite benefitting from it himself and was arrested and framed by Death Eaters for crimes he didn`t commit as a result, if that ain`t a hero I don`t know what is!

Now let's make up a scenario, Peter is already in Voldemort's clutches when Sirius comes up with his "brilliant "plan. During one of their meetings, Voldemort realizes Peter is keeping a secret from him. He threatens to end Peter's life if the latter doesn't spill the beans. Dumbledore said that Voldemort had perfected the art of torturing people until they BEGGED for death. But he didn't end them right away. No, he'd torture them for a LONG time before granting them mercy. And it took Sirius 12 whole years to escape Azkaban, but he never did it for harry. No, he saw a friend he wanted to murder. That was is motivation for escaping. He deliberately set a student up to be infected by a werewolf/unalived by one. He was lucky that James was SLIGHTLY less psychotic. Yes, Sirius did hate his family s Pureblood ideology, but he was still hardly better than any of them. he lived to torture those he thought of as being less than him.

He abused Kreacher and as unpleasant as Kreacher was especially in comparison to Dobby it`s still hard to root fer that! James was blinded by his privilege and he wasn`t specifically bullying Severus for his half-blood status, James himself was a half-blood as well, so was his son! Peter was a coward and a traitor, those were also the main problems James had with Severus by the way, well that and as noted in the video he was obsessed with Lily Potter and mistook that obsession for actual love!

She tends to change with the wind, flowing in whatever direction she thinks will put her favorite characters in the best of lights. First the Potters were a Pureblood family. Then, when someone calls out that if they were that strict with their breeding, then maybe they weren't as progressive as she made them out to be, suddenly it turns out that the lore says they did have Muggles in the family. When she favors a character, they can have done some of the evilest things, and still turn out to have been "good" without a doubt. They're "good" because she wants them to be. No, unless Rowling already changed it, according to her, James hated Snape because the latter was poor, neglected, dirty, unpopular and had a thing for Dark magic. He wasn't born rich, well cared for and spoiled like James. Then, when James began to lust for Lily. Or at least that's how I see it when you all but ignore a girl, until she reaches a certain age, and turns out to be hot. Then, when James began to lust for Lily, he saw Snape as an obstacle and a rival for Lily's affection. Which was another reason for him to dislike Snape. Peter owed James nothing. Neither James nor Sirius really liked Peter. The freaking AUTHOR said they would have bullied him as well if Remus hadn't spoken for him. Remus was the sole reason why James and Sirius let Peter join their little gang. Neither James, nor Sirius, were good people. They were two rich, snobby, privileged douchebags who thought they both owned and ruled everything they saw.

@@LavallaisPictures TBH, I would have actually preferred that JKR did not make the Dursleys an abusive couple towards Harry. I think I would have preferred that she made them go the other way: Overly protective of him (for fear that he might suffer the same fate as his parents), & try not to let him go to Hogwarts for that reason.

Yes, making them abusive was the easy way out. He wouldn’t miss them and wouldn’t think twice about leaving them behind for the magical world.

@@LavallaisPictures Exactly. She should have made them more loving towards him, & gradually learn to let him go, in order fulfil what his destiny was supposed to be. Besides, that particular story arc has already been used enough times already: ie: 'Cinderella;' 'Jane Eyre;' etc.
