Really, this is so awesome. This honestly needs to become the industry standard for quality and functionality. The most exciting part is that Fluid is only going to get better from here on out!
@@rushdesigns personally I have had issues with the double tapping not always working for me on my Q3. I do think a simple gesture that keeps you in the application but complete passthrough would be great to have even universal as part of the OS. Like a Minority Report full swipe when Tom Cruise shuffles the clues off the screen in that one scene.
Looks good. Appreciate all the work you’re putting into it. Video is sometimes hard to watch though, with your head bobbing all over the place. 😉 Looking forward to release.
Sorry about that! We're working on better ways of recording from a 3rd person perspective. Probably will record a shorter, tighter version of this as well for the onboarding tutorial video.
Chrome Remote Desktop (remotedesktop.google.com) is a free option that works with Fluid. Just a heads up though, you'll need to navigate to that url in a normal browser window. If you save it as an app right now keyboard doesn't work. We're going to fix that very soon.
It's very similar the the spatial app the looks like vision pro, this is great qre u bale to add widgets like timers, clock and stop watch calender maybe some quick notes that's stores in the app. Does the spaces part work on mixed reality ?
@@muzzuhumble7871 ill def try out out again hoping they bring widgets to fluid as suggested above but also spatial seems ti be alot higher resolution compared to fluid windows and content displayed
Spatial app is lower resolution than our windows. They don't optimize the rendering stack the way we do and instead just crank the eye buffer resolution way up. Try Fluid in VR mode to see the full result.
@fluidspatial let me try it out tomorrow thanks i tried fluid about 6 months ago, I mostly require it within MR to use while I'm doing activities to compliment my work flow I found spatial app to really assist me here . Let me try fluid I will give u feedback thanks for the work on the app
Looks cool, though being able to create pre-determined area's like a TV and be able to snap windows to it would be a nice feature, that could then be expanded uppon by being able to use AI to detect recomended spaces to then become snappable in the real world
I appreciate your innovation and great work. You rock🔥 Just I let you know some web pages offering built-in video players don't show the video contents displaying errors while the same pages work fine with meta browser.
you should add a way to make websites their mobile/tablet version, so youtube can have it's tablet interface, for example, so that works better when in a TV type virtual screen, or optimized for tactile interaction! and I guess other websites have both versions too :D
Hi, thank you very much for the great updates, one question: for some time (I don't know how long) there is a white line on the floor. About 1 meter long (basically under the office chair)? What could it be, it is only visible with Fluid?
I've always heard that you need to be very careful about quest 3s being hit by sunlight due to potential sensor damage, but I regularly see people using them in the sun in vids. Anyone have any idea if i had just heard wrong?
You need to be careful of the *internal* lenses being hit by direct sunlight, which can burn the screens inside the headset. The outer sensors are generally fine. Fun fact: Ka'i (another dev on our founding team) was the first person in the world to burn a VR headset with sunlight. Oculus discovered it was an issue from him.
Our environments are a combination of 3D models and high-res 3D photos with the 3D effect turned way down. (tech isn't quite there yet for a good 3D effect.)
could you include a good option for streaming your device as well, be it mobile phone(android, apple), linux, windows, mac as it feels like this is something virtual desktop and immersive are failing on they focus on a single aspect but sometimes you wanna see a quick view of your phones notifications similar to scrcpy without taking off the headset or check your work monitoring tools. I don't mean controlling either I would be happy with remote view only lol cause remote desktop functions are hard to target all devices
The other reviews mention that Fluid could be used with a virtual machine / pc. Also ...any ideas to make your own headset ...like the bugs reen vr etc? It would be the ultimate to have a Fluid pair of VR goggles that can access a Fluid subscription Virtual machine account. That way the laptop could be made redundant!
open remotedesktop.google.com in a normal browser window (not as an app, that's bugged for now) and you can. We're discussing how to make cloud PCs a thing too.
Check the "getting-started" channel in our Discord server (discord.fluid.so) for instructions on how to join the beta tester program. Then there will be instructions on how to install the beta version.
