Dev log going over the new window design and hand-based right click functionality in the Fluid app for Meta Quest. Discord: discord.fluid.so Get the app: app.fluid.so
Hey from Japan! I was truly moved by the "Fluid" you guys created! To put it modestly, you guys are the ultimate game-changers! Creating a new UI inside the machine is just too genius! By the way, this is just a dream, but I'd be really happy if you could add a switch to display the video input from OTG USB. Of course, don't worry, I won't go smashing the fluid installed headset against the wall even if I was old man using his USB camera-connected QUEST2 as a magnifying glass just because his request was ignored, haha. (You know, have you ever heard that Japanese people are polite? It's actually just a rumor, though.) If only Chromecast with Google TV could be connected... Anyway, I really don't care about the request. Please keep up the great work. Cheering for the success of the team from a corner of Asia.
Love these changes! I think the biggest things holding me back from using fluid is the stiff keyboard and how it doesn't dynamically pop up in front of you when you click on something, the limitations when resizing windows, and the fact that I can't just tap on the screens like a tablet. The spatial app is definitely missing a lot of features that you guys have, but they are doing things better in these 3 specific scenarios if you ask me. Keep up the grind, and thank you for continuing to update!
@@fluidspatial yes, sorry to be unclear. The windows can resize super squished horizontally, making for a skinny and fat window from east to west, but when I try to make the screen into a skinny and narrow size vertically (from north to south) it does not get skinny enough. And if I try to make the windows around 15 to 20 inches on the diagonal, trying to mimic a large tablet/small monitor, it can't do that either. Whereas, the spatial app does a better job at making it feel like I have multiple interactive tablets around me. I can elaborate further if that doesn't make sense. Thank you!
Hi, John. I love this app! Please implement codes to which we are able to stick/place the browser on walls and to also lock browser in place so that, if we were to press the Oculus home button, the browsers arent grouped together. I would also like to see TVs in the environment to be functioning as a browser. I use this app on a regular basis, it is definitely one of the best productivity apps out there and I am a proud supporter.
Nice, i like the new changes. Can you guys try to remake also the app's tray to be more easy to navigate and find apps, also to be able to summon the tray and KB? Having then locked in place is not good if you are moving around, or if you want to insta hide to clean the space a shotcut would be nice.
Workflow unmatched. Completely changing the way I use VR. Im not sure if you've answered this elsewhere but are you recording this on a Quest 3 or QuestPro? Cheers!
Is there a file browser or media player to play videos or display pictures on the local storage? If not, that is a must for this be an OS in some sort of way.
I will admit first off that I have not tried your app, I just saw this video on RU-vid for the first. But I will ask one question/give one suggestion. The quest can scan your real room and pin virtual objects to real objects. Can you pin your keyboard to a real desk so when you press a key you are touching your desk? This gives real feedback to a virtual keyboard and makes a HUGE difference when you’re trying to type, but nobody does it. If you do, I will be all over your app. If you don’t, may I humbly suggest it, and request that you let me know when you have?
Hello, thanks for the video. Is the voice recognition with the controller already finished, it doesn't work for me yet? You always use hand tracking for that, is there a reason for that? Thanks
Hi, I'm using Fluid on MetaQuest 3 and love the app. However, I'm having an issue: the virtual floor level is much lower than my real floor. I've already reset my Guardian settings twice, but it didn't help. How can I fix this? Thanks!
Using mouse with Fluid is kinda clunky and slight latency. I hope to see some tweaking to have a much better experience. Other than that it does have a lot of potential!
