God, I remember my dad would sit down and actually watch me and my brother, or our friends play this game. He would say what the songs were, because we had no idea. Dad never had the hand eye coordination to play games with us, but if he sat down to watch us to watch a game, it felt so damn special. I vividly remember him singing the words along to the tunes. A damn good memory. Makes me misty eyed.
Wow... Can't even tell you just how relatable this comment truly is. Growing up with my dad in one state and my brother and I in another with our mother made it rare to visit. When we did he'd often rent us the most current system and watch us play as we tried new and exciting games we'd never otherwise even see let alone try.
there was a banned copy called motor rock removed from steam. They literally even used the audio of the commentators voice from this game in theirs. Even had the same cars like the marauder
Pro Tip: Try to keep on the inside of the track so you don't have your opponents behind you. They tend to hang on the outside and this will keep you from getting fragged most of the time. Also, once you have a bunch of missiles, let your opponents get ahead of you at the starting line and light them up. Then lay down mines once they are behind you and you can pretty much control the whole race. One thing that bugged me about this game was Rip and Shred always advance to the next world and the third guy is always exclusive to the world you are currently racing on. Logically when you advance the two computer characters with the highest score move along with you and whoever comes in last with points gets left behind. Would like to see a mod/update fix this. I found the best thing to do is save your money and buy the air blade as soon as possible. Even if you rank out and have to do Circuit B again, once you have the Air Blade you are pretty much overpowered once you get to world 3. Save your money and as soon as you can, buy the battle tank. Never bothered with the hover craft because the tank is pretty much all you need to beat the game.
Activision was not in the picture before 2009. Right before D3 and SC2. What really put Blizzard on the map was D1 (made by north) and later the game everyone knows: WoW. Nowadays its Overwatch ofc. And Hots is also popular, beating all the other games out there. Blizzard ftw. Activision can burn in hell, along side EA.
Man, friends and I used to stay up all night playing this. Spinning around to shoot behind us to keep from getting shot or just to slow them down and launching missiles across to the other side of the track. Good times.
I remember renting this game over and over and over. It never got old. My friend and I had non stop fun playing this game. Being able to race and blow each other up, and on top of that some really kick ass music. If you don't like this game there is something wrong with you, that or you suck and don't have any friends to play with.
I'm not lying when I say watching this video makes me want to UNLEASH HOT FURY!! :) No words can describe how awesome this game was and still is. Tim Follin is a chip tune maniac genius.
this game was sick back in the day. me and my friend used to play it all day. i remember when the ship left for the next planet and one of you got left behind. my friend used to get so pissed when i left him for dust. used to slap the console and everything lol
Не забываемое теплое время проведенное с друзьями - с джойстиками в руках. Когда ты переживаешь что бы твой друг улетел с тобой на другую планету больше чем за что либо)))). Детство ...этого не отнять.
I just came back to this video and realized I commented 5 years ago. God tier game. I'm guessing this comment is referring to the company Blizzard. But anyhoo.. :D
que juegazoooo! rock n roll racing, el de motorratones y mario kart mis favoritos. Excelente soundtrack con bandas retro . Me acuerdo aun del ultimo escenario y de los personajes que se parecian a ken y ryu XD Saludos
A Russian company tried. They called it Rock 'n Roll Racing 3D. Then changed the name to Motor Rock. But they got sued by Blizzard and removed from Steam because they actually copied the sound files from the SNES.
I swear ive only ever seen olaf as some weird three eyed cat alien thing my entire life. I didnt realize he was a viking til the very end. Even now my brain still wants to see him that way.
After a long search I finally found the game :D This was a part of my childhood I was in love with this game, collecting money upgrading the cars ooh my!! I really feel sorry for the current generation they are wasting their time on tiktok and shit
So this is around 30 years ago at this point... I I used to rent this game every 2 weeks or so from our local "videoland" I played and played it. Each time I had to return it I had to remember the code to start back where I was last. (I was a kid I didn't write things down) well... the last time I seen this game I remembered the last code to get it back, and the store shut down. It was about 10 years ago and a friend an an emulator on his phone yo play older games. I told him about this game, he downloaded the game, I plugged in the code AND IT FREAKING WORKED! I still... cannot beleive it to this day. I'll never forget it. Oh and if anyone is curious the code just ask. No matter the time I'll be able to give it to you until the day I die or get dementia.
Special game for me, I bought it new and one of my very best friends stayed over for a sleep over when I was 15 and we literally played it until about 6am in the morning. This was kinda towards the end of my youth, that time just after or before you leave comprehensive and life isn't the same again. That's what rock and roll racing is for me, I just downloaded it and finished it,BUT I did not see the fire world after the ice world! It went straight to the end, I was using save states though, the game actually gets really quite hard on iceworld. Lots of things that could be better about this game and easily done, but like I said, its a special memory game for me. Probably the last cartridge game I ever bought on the SNES too.
