TangoPlays do you utilize the range finder in the binos? Zero the rifle to the closest distance, adjust for wind. Strongly recommend using a reticle with distance markers.

What gets me is that you can have a high powered rifle that should hit what you aim at up to 500 yards with a scope and still miss because of the wind. I have seen people with an AK using a scope and 7.62x39 hit targets at 500 yards with just the iron sights and thats a 300 yard round.

Thanks. It's really just practice and getting comfortable with a weapon you want to use and keep using. You eventually get a feel for it. But it took me a long, long time.

Actually you can, when it's trying for realism by having ballistic trajectory and better anatomical correctness for damage modeling and the like. It's not advertised as exactly the same as real life but it's clear they're going for realism. @@P4NCH0theD0G

Oshak 92 Using suppressed ammo (and the supressor) lowers Muzzle Velocity, meaning you need to compensate more for wind and distance. I'm not sure if it's linear (meaning using suppressed ammo will add the exact same amount of additional compensation needed for every rifle), but it might be. I rarely use suppressed ammo, but should I find the time I might test it a bit. Btw, Zeroing (setting the range to 100m, 200m etc.) is not affected by the lower velocity and works just like with regular ammo.

I haven't done any real testing, but, as an example, at 150m the Mosin Nagant (fully upgraded), the rifle with the highest Muzzle Velocity in the game, puts a SUPPRESSED shot pretty much exactly where the Kar98 (with lower MZ) puts a shot with REGULAR ammo. Every rifle with a different MZ needs different compensation for wind and distance, meaning you need to "learn" each rifle by itself. And since suppressed ammo lowers the MZ, you need to learn that again (and when you get an Upgrade that increases MZ, you need to do both once more!). After a while you will really get a feeling for your rifle, but it's best to stick to one and get used to it.

P4NCH0theD0G i think your zero on the fly should work for everything. 1 Shoot the wall. 2 create a mental image of where it hit relative to your crosshair. Transfer that knowledge to the actual target. Since wind has no effect if you're facing east or west on the san celini map its also beneficial to use the tunnel hide spot. It offers max concealment and perfect line of sight to the primary objective from about 220m. At this location the wind will be dead center. Making shots much easier.

Not sure what exactly your problem is, here, but I'll try. You aim your rifle with the scope by pulling the left trigger (LT/L2) on your controller ALL the way through. The game gives you an option to either stay in third person or use the scope by how far you pull the trigger. Pull it halfway and you'll stay in third person but get a decently tight crosshairs, useful for close range combat. Pull it all the way through and you enter scoped mode. Be aware that if you're using trigger stops or hair trigger modifications on your controller (meaning you only have to pull your trigger halfway for things to happen, say, for quicker shooting) you will be unable to enter scoped mode as the game will not receive the complete pull of the left trigger to enter the scope.

P4NCH0theD0G is there anyway to use ads on ps4 since my left trigger of my ps4 controller won’t work like that on this game

@@kryppo4245 No, the game has this mechanic that, depending on how far the trigger is pulled, you either go into an over shoulder aim (pulled half) or scope (pulled all the way). If your controller is older and/or not working right, there's unfortunately not many options. All you can do is try different ways of pulling the trigger all the way to the stop.

@@angelsotelo1039 try pulling your L2 in a different way, hold your fingers differently, and try to pull it all the way through. Sometimes, if the controller is older, it might not trigger. Similarly, you have to pull it further than you might be used to from other games due to the different mechanics with a half and full pull in this game.

How do you play on authentic and have the zoom ??? I cant zoom in even with the gun skilled unlocked to zoom in

Badassvidsz Custom. This was before the last patch where they introduced the super hard difficulty - that one also changed some of the custom stuff around. Before that patch, you could tag enemies with an Authentic HUD (which was by mistake, but I liked it). The custom setting here was a mix of Sniper Elite and Authentic.

That's my custom settings too Sniper Elite and Authentic plus :-) I bought this awesome game 1 week before Christmas 2017 and too much gaming so far i've became myself a very good gamer up to sniper elite difficulty : On authetics i still have aiming issues haven't found the way for quick target locking as may times i've tried as a practice so my custom is almost all authetic plus only for the rifles still using aiming assist and i found this combination - cocktail of difficulties very interesting But still yes this authetic aiming is a pain in the ass for me :-(

There's a setting in the options, aim assist or something like that. If I remember correctly, you can do it even in game. Sorry it's been a while.

Of course it exists. It doesnt make the bullets go farther, it makes you shoot higher. It is callled zeroing. You can even negate wind and other factors. That is what snipers do when they dial on their scope. Basically it changes the angle of the scope relative to the barrel of the gun. You can see that even on old bolt action rifles with iron sights. They are adjustable for different ranges. Imagine that you turn the scope of your rifle 45 degrees to the side. Now you aim with your scope on a target that is 5 meters away. Your shot wont land because the barrel is pointed in the wrong direction. Your scope is offset relative to the barrel. This is the important bit! Your scope MUST NOT always point in the direction of the barrel. A 45 degree offset is obviously way more than you ever need though. Now imagine however that your target is 500 meters away and there is a strong wind to your left. Without zeroing you need to aim slighly higher and slightly right of the target. Lets say you need to aim half a degree right and one degree above the target. Now you just adjust the scope half a degree left and one degree down relative to the barrel. If you now aim with your scope on the target then your barrel is pointed half a degree right and half a degree above the target, the barrel is pointed exactly in the right direction that you compensate for range and wind so you can hit the target while your scope is aimed on the target. Basically this allows you to do the math of how to compensate for distance, wind, etc. before shooting and adjust your scope instead of doing it mentally.

Well, while you may have a point, the problem lies with the lack of marks on the cross hairs at higher magnification. Unfortunately, despite many people asking for it, there are no crosshair variants in the game that provide tight enough mil-dots or marks to allow their use at high zoom.
