Sniping Pro Tips and Tricks: Ghost Recon Wildlands - Long Range Sniping 

Ubisoft should give XP for distance kills, adjusted for range. I also feel that it would help the sniping players feel more immersed/rewarded in the game.

sniper tip number one... bug the hell out of the developers for better scopes like a 8x or even a 12x scope. or even better than that the one with the 3 different zoom levels from the trailer... problem solved

I know this is insanely late but my greatest tip that I can give anyone is to PAY ATTENTION TO THE PENETRATION STAT. With the MSR and other .338 rifles (like the Sr1) you can outright snipe people through walls.

I basically don’t shoot unless I’m either confident or comfortable

I’m not a huge sniper in this game. My longest shot was 416 meters, and that was a stray round from my LMG that wandered over to the next base 😂

I'm mostly a patient sniper. This one time I was taking down this group of Santa Blanca in the snowy mountains guarding this plane and I was able to take 3 put because they went to the same isolated spot and I stayed where I was. I'm pretty proud of that moment.

My longest shot was shooting myself in the back of the head it went so far

I don't know if people have already noticed is that, "all" weapons have bullet drop, lately I have been ( I guess I can say sniping ) hitting targets at over 100m to 200m away with the Luger, and you have to compensate for bullet drop, but it's really cool to clear bases and camps without getting into Engaged mode, all by using only the Luger, specially since it can't be used with a suppressor. If maintaining a overall distance of 100m all around, the Luger is quiet enough that the enemies won't hear it

I use the BFG 50A to one shot helicopters. I'm glad you showed what the scope marking mean, that will be very helpful as I have been guessing when I shoot long ranges. (5 years ago and I am playing this game now, 5 years later. That's a great game to last that long.)

I find when I’m playing with my friends, we have a ground team and a sniper team. Meaning that when one of us miss a shot the ground team can quickly and quietly sort it out

The SR-25 has been my favorite since the days of SOCOM.

Great sniping tip that helps in both ghost war and ghost mode (or normal mode ig): Document the drop off ranges of your scopes. Everytime i pick up a knew scope i mark it with things like '130 m is 1.5 lines from center' to memorize how high i should aim and how useful a scope is.

Just started playing the game.. loving the sniping aspect.. I personally use the msr unsuppressed with the Tars101 scope, I like the G28 as well but find the distance markers to work better with the Tars101 personally. Longest shot solo is 800m on an approaching help pilot

My longest shot is now 1005m first try thanks to this guide. I was looking for a guide to say how far up to aim when sniping.

My biggest problem with extreme range,is keeping the enemies from popping out of the game. To get my 700m shot,i had a friend nab a baddie & hold him. But solo,i have so many problems with not just humans,but terrain, & enemy cover(sandbags,wood walls,ect),popping in/out after approximately 400m......Give or take. Its very frustrating.

I had thousands of hours into this game on PS4, just got it on PC today and omg does this 3080 bring it out in all of its beauty. Gonna do a DEEP playthrough of it now.

I like ARMA's system where you can change the zeroing of your rifle, makes sniping that little bit easier My best tip for sniping? Use a semi-auto rifle and keep firing, you're bound to hit something eventually XD

Ghost recon wildlands is awesome iv had it for years completed the campaign dozens of times over now I just chill in Co op with some really good players

Doing a first play through. I haven't hit any huge long ones. But I know this has helped me out a bit. Just have to practise.

Thanks for this guide with additional information that I needed to play with HUD off in extreme. My record is 904m 1 take with HTI. On average I try to snipe from 300m+ simply enemy won't able to locate where I am and if they did, I can take time to pick them off as they charge at me.

great tips especially love the mildot range estimation im going to use it tonight when i try to beat my personal best record i believe mines a lil over 600m another video i watched shows that if you place a marker on the enemy and move away when you cant see them marked through your scope that marker on the map still has the enemy marked in combination with ythe authors video and the other video i watched i should be able to beat my personal record by a few hundred meters great tips @GRIEFDRUMS

My average kill distance is 46m, and my longest shot was 467m. And when you sniping follow your gut, when i get the perfect line up my muscles tense and my heart rate increases and i never miss a shot. And it feels really good.

You should do another one of these videos with the long barrel on snipers so people know where to aim with long barrels cus of how it changes where you need to aim.

I hit a shot on a sniper from across one of the largest unidad bases on the map. At the time I didn't fiddle with exact range so I don't how far it was, but it was far enough to get me the "long shot" achievement. I used pure trial and error until I eventually domed the dude with my MSR

Thanks for the sniping tips, I have been using the msr but I gotta check out the HTI now. I haven't tried being that perfect with the sniper since run and gun is interesting but I should try this way since it's more fun.

I just made a 1135m shot using this guide! my tip to you guys it not to rush your shots and take your time, pick your targets and make sure to isolate them so you don't get detected, and use sync shot and you'll become a much more effective sniper

I find the sniping mechanics fun. Some people don’t like sniping but to get the most out of sniping you need to take it slow and steady. Shoot when you know you will hit. Take the most out of sync shots as you can. Sometimes you can do the supply missions easily by taking out four enemies with sync shot and the last person would be useless in a 4v1 scenario. Snipers I recommend are in the 3-1 order on how good I think they are. 3: L11A3 (AWM) This is my personal favorite and I use this all the time. Not only is it a good sniper overall, but is very fun to shoot. Especially in 150-500 meter ranges. (This may vary from skill In sniping) 2: MSR The MSR is very similar to the L11A3 but has more buffed stats although doesn’t seem like it is as powerful. (Still better though!) 1: HTI I say the HTI is the best gun for one reason and as it states in the video, anti vehicle. If you have a Helicopter on you and it’s blasting you and your team, make use of this fun from its high damage. (Also pretty good with an MK17 if you are trying to complete the predator fight) I know this may not be the very best weapon guide or anything but it’s my personal preference. If you take some of the tips from this video and use these weapons/tips from my comment (I’m not a very good teacher) you might just be able to get a better grip on sniping in ghost recon wildlands. I was playing around with the game a bit and have a DOPE chart for the MSR with the standard barrel and highest zoom scope if anyone wants it. I can only hit a 800m shot by myself. I also found how to accurately lead a car which is if your using my exact gun and scope using the first mil hashes horizontally obviously, left and right. Use the first one at 200m, 2nd one at 400m and so on.

best i got so far is 761m with the L115A3 (only sniper i use) but that's on xbox one s, on my own and the guy walked past the draw distance while i still had him in my scope. when i am lining up long shots i fire one round far off to the side of the target but still in line with him so i can spot where the round is going to land on the mil-dots exactly then adjust accordingly and every time i do this the next shot i fire always hits the target.

A good rule of thumb for the sr25 is at 300 meters, go down one notch , at 400, go down one more, 500 same thing

I know it's overpowered, but the SR-25 Jungle is my favorite sniper rifle. It can one-shot all vehicle regardless of whether or not you are spotted first. It's penetration is also out of this world. It was a part of "Fallen Ghosts" DLC. And its only OP'd in the main campaign though, since playing with it in Ghost Mode or Fallen Ghosts puts its power back to its intended stats. - I guess it was a bug that Ubisoft never bothered to fix (well, I don't complain though) Combine that with the AR "Mk18" and you're invincible!

My longest kill in wild lands was 785m on a cartel leader while he was driving away at full speed in his super car. Mind you it was on a mountain so the roads were all were all over the place. I essentially pulled the trigger as a “Hail Mary” and I still got a head shot!

Not my longest shot but the shot that got me the achievement:I was out of ammo and on a cliff shooting down...I only had 2bullets left in my pistol my first shot missed as I was also looking in heavy grass/trees. I couldn’t see my target. I shot the last one and got a kill hit marker I was already thinking “wow” until I saw the xp. Say it was a headshot, this got me excited. Finally I saw the achievement unlocked blip show up and froze in shock... don’t know how I did it I just know I felt really bad ass, until unidad came out of no where and mowed me down

The L115a3 is my favourite sniper rifle and the most accurate but down side is it's slow on rate of fire

I used to use the HTI and actually before even doing the tutorial mission I went straight to go get it, but after checking all of the SRs in game, I can't seem to be able to use anything else other than the DSR-1, the thing is awesome. But the SRs in this game are all great, only the MSR that to me seems a little off, I don't want to say bad but it's not my favorite, I did like it in the beta though. I guess the DSR is so high in my favorite SR that all of the rest dropped a few notches, some more than others

My longest shot, I think, was like 4 or 500 meters away. (I didn't know that existed as a stat so I'm guessing from memory) Instead of going for the most powerful rifle or the best scope, I just go for what I personally prefer, and then I just get to know how the rifle and scope work together. My friend told me that different rifles have different bullet drop so I'm just sticking with what I know

Can you tell me, how you fill the Stats (Accuracy & Range) to the end?

My longest one shot one kill, no practice headshot is 568m, best advice I can give is take your time and practice on other targets to get used to the dodgey bullet physics in the game, then when you understand how the guns handle over distance to then try harder long range shots. I'm now making shots on moving targets at 250+m and on things like gunners while the vehicles are moving. It helps if you naturally are good at shooting long range shots and have knowledge and experience on how guns work in real life. but when it comes to games, practice makes perfect.

Most insane shot I made would have to be I've 700 meters with an MK17 assault rifle and my best tips for sniping I have used is to always: 1. Blend into the environment 2. Find 2 or 3 advantage points to move to if you are compromised 3. If you become *HUNTED* move to a new advantage point (They'll usually move to wherever you were shooting from) 4. Don't rush shots, even if it takes a full minute to fire a single round do it, a missed shot could ruin both yourself and your teammates And my last one is to not panic if you miss, if you find yourself panicking then force yourself to stop using a bolt action sniper for a while and only use the G28 and a semi automatic AR, it helped me a lot to slow my shots down and stop panicking

My first shot was a 950 meter shot from one mountain to another with the basic scope that has pretty much no zoom

I use a msr but I don't know if a upgraded suppressor makes any differences to no suppressor?

Just picked up this game two days ago. Current long shot is 250 and change, but that was with the M40 and an ACOG. Can't wait to find better scopes. Also - thanks for the tip about not needing a suppressor past 150m

Was trying a 1.4km shot but found out that no matter what I did it could reach that distance using the hti default (not sure if bullet distance is the same for all snipers or not)

Unless you have the second DLC, not narco roads, you can get the BFG-50A which is better except iin rate of fire and penetration and handling, but only by a slight amount compared to the MSR

Pretty neat to know how to do this snipings not my thing but I do act as a marksman around 500m this helps to be more accurate thanks

I play alone and without hud and my longest shot is 547 on a sniper with a T5XI (cant remeber the rifles name but its called the AWP in csgo im pretty sure). Definetly enjoy long shots without HUD on, not to mention shooting without a supressor and hearing that echo

I just found out about the longest shot stat and got a little over 600 yesterday. I didn't know suppresors affect bullet travel, though. The guy was moving, so this would've made it a lot easier lol. Im tryna beat my record as a new side mission 😂

Most rifles are zero at 200m then each hash mark under center is another 100 metere and so on to account for bullet droo

My longest moving target shot was 856 meters. My longest shot in general was 1,001meters

My best and longest kill shot was about 1335m away, and I was using a Barrett .50 cal, so one shots a chopper. then on my xp bar it says I got a double kill, so I got a heavy lead, moving at about 216 km/h and a kill shot on a door gunner and pilot
