Any work done on a snowblower is a good thing as long as it prevents snow from happening. I would like to publicly thank my grandsons for buying snowmobiles this past fall because it kept the snow away. Beautiful winter in Minnesota this year with very little snow. Like ways I thank you for being prepared. Sometimes it does the trick.

Different topic: Do you use a special paint or coating to keep wet freezing snow from clogging the chute?

I've never really had too much trouble with clogging over the years so I don't add any coatings.

The rectifier isn’t necessary as the LED by itself is a half wave rectifier and will run on AC at half duty. Your Ariens already has the LED stock light on the handlebars, that unit doesn’t have a rectification circuitry built in. The frequency of the AC from the stator is fast enough you won’t notice the flicker. LED Christmas lights are only half duty cycle and work on AC with no rectification.
