It’s always a pleasure to see Ed out there on a recovery I’m sure he wasn’t hitting on all cylinders when he didn’t give us the full on weather report. Hopefully he will back on his A game the next time we see him out there! He’s a treasure and Matt and his family truly care for him. ❤
It is wonderful to hear you and your sons enjoy singing like no one is listening. What a priceless relationship you three have. Never stop enjoying life because of what others may think of you. Live each day to the fullest.
I really enjoy how I know 95% of the particpants in the the Off-Road Games, can't wait to see the videos on various channels, it's a shame I live on the other side of the world as I would have loved to see this in person! Best of luck everyone
Matt, just to help with the perception side, an old motocross champion (Ake Jonsson, Swe) was famous for his speed up hill but even greater down hill. When asked how he was able to go so fast, he merely replied "I consider uphills and downhills as just level ground at a slant". See with a mindset like that, you can go up or down anything. Maybe as well, consider mud as dry dirt with a little water? Thanks for the video and love to see the team working together. As far as the singing goes, well practice makes perfect, you can always dream (and that is what radios are for!).
It was nice to see Ed and we always enjoy seeing Kaulin and Rhett working on recoveries with their Dad. We are excited that Laura will be at the Off Road Games. We have been following her on Laura Farms for a few years. We are hoping you will show some of the games like you did last year. We live far and are older so are not able to travel much any longer.
Listened to this while i was driving and I was repeatedly cheering as you listed off the teams for the Offroad Games! Can't wait! My only 'complaint' is that it won't all be uploaded in one place/video for me to watch, so I'll have to go finding them haha. But that's fair, each channel deserves the viewership :]
The Off Road Games RU-vid mash up is brilliant. So glad the Peck Brothers are in this. Only one team I'm not a fan of but that doesn't take away from how great this is going to be for all involved.
It was good to see Ed out on recovery and to see you and your 2 eldest working together on recoverys. You have and are training them . Looking forward to seeing the off road games, was looking forward to Heavy D partisapating but maybe next time
I have to admit, Matt's stock went up a whole bunch in my eyes when I saw he knew the words to "Oo-De-Lally". But now I see he's got the boys singing Marty Robbins, my word I'm thoroughly impressed with their proper upbringing. 🙂
For everyone who says "why would you take that in there?" Proof in point. That Hyundai drove that entire road. If old mate didn't slip in the ditch on that corner he would have made it all the way no worries.
Another point, I grew up driving those exact roads, and you *can* make it in a car without traction control, etc IF you absolutely send it and have the skill to not put it in the ditch or over the edge. (Or at least an '89 Buick Century your uncle sold you for $300 can make it with those provisions).
@@jonfurse3931the best thing to do is turn the traction control off so the wheels don’t try and grab all the time and keep the wheel speed up. The tricky part is like you said, having enough skill to just full send and not end up in a ditch or over the edge
@McGeester21 definitely true. I didn't think of traction control because I never drove anything new enough to have it until I was in my mid-20's, haha!
“If there is anyone who can drive that car out of there, it’s “My” Dad! And those kind of remarks and kindness are what makes this channel so successful 😊😊😊
Nice recoveries guys!! Nice to see Ed out and about again!! Love that guy!! I think they both should have waited for a more dry day to be out there! LOL!!
it's great seeing Ed out and father and son's out bonding together and great seeing the younger son keeping track of Matt's fuel ⛽️ great videos thanks...and excited about the off road games...thanks
Great to see Ed this morning. I hope he's doing alright. I noticed you didn't have your mud fender flairs on this day. Very nice work and jobs not too hard. Thanks for the video.
16:54 .. Whenever possible I always get 94 Octane, only available at select location in my area. It makes BIG difference in starting, and a very noticeable increase in RANGE, it costs more but uses much less gas. And the old Chevrolet, 1994 giant, P-30 Van, has a 350 Small Block, with the old Throttle Body Injection, and it runs so much soother. with consistent acceleration (no hesitation) and over all more quiet, on the good gas
On our recent trip to Puerto Rico are rental Hyundai did surprisingly good. We followed Google maps and it went from a one and a half Lane road to a one lane road to a two track to a two-track with really tall grass to a two-track with really tall grass and trees brushing the side, to a stream with the road washed out. I was so worried we were going to be one of those people when we were so far away from civilization, no one would easily get to us but we made it!
I like to see the old Matt back again! Pre-Derral Matt is the best Matt! Oh and on that black Ford truck, I can hear the bad cam phasers all the way from the Pacific Northwest!
Matt, my father in-law always sang us this song "The Thing", it's an old Irish/Swedish song. With your good Irish ascent, I think you could do it well. You should learn it and sing it for your family and followers. He has since passed. You remind me a lot of him. You both look a lot alike. We went to a local bar one time, they had karaoke, he got up and sang it, it was a hit with the patrons, not many people ever heard it.
Love the family involved with the business! Also love randomly hearing Corvairs brought up in the conversation! So true that Corvairs (especially Turbocharged) run better on premium unleaded! Although in the mild Western Washington climate, I get away with mid-grade in my naturally aspirated Corvairs. Never would have thought that an off road recovery channel, would fairly often mention Corvairs, or I spot them in the background!
Matt, you just sent your heart out? Because you're a tenor just like I am. We should sing 10 or 12 miles away. But that's okay. I know that I can sing and I enjoy it even if people don't think so. That's all it matters, keep up the good work. Love your contact, love your sense. Humor you got a great family.
I can’t stress enough how much I love how all these RU-vidrs coming together for an event like this ! With all the negativity surrounding off roading and racing nowadays we need more people to band together for events like this !
As an owner of these vans, with the stabiliatrak he was never gonna whip it around. As soon as the computer see turn angle and wheel speed it shut off the power even if its turned off.
The mole man from cerro gordo is going to be On top of some rocks rather than underneath? Damn, I thought I was going to be team Morr again, but brent Is so chill... If he can rappel 900 feet underground 5 feet above rocks will be nothing.
Brent is a great dude I met him 3 yrs ago a cerro gordo . Love his ghost town & what he's preserving. Just a smart good down to earth dude that managed to buy a town .
@@davestevens4263 I think Brent and Cody are the only RU-vidrs I've followed from the beginning of their channels without being disappointed for who they are as a person, both of them have kind souls... and brent has the best sunsets on all youtube.
Great seeing Ed out on recoveries, as he really seems to love the outings. We use RON 95 or 98 (US equivalent is 90.8 to 93.5) for my Mustang, and for our cars on a long 500km+ trip, but everyday use is E10 94RON, so 10% ethanol and roughly 90 on your US rating. The issue is my small engines on mowers, whipper snipper (Weed wacker), edgers, blower and generator hate the higher octane so we use standard ethanol-free 91 RON, or roughly 87 in the USA, plus a fuel stabaliser to allow us to keep 100+ litres here at most times, and it will last 12+ months in storage (but we use it in less than 6 months on average)
I am so excited for this event and these teams. I am bringing my 3 mountain biking nephews. Let's get a group ride going! Seth, Kaulin, Rhett, Rudy and of course Matt. It would be amazing. Routing for all the teams but we have been Seth fans the longest.
Turning the young men onto the legendary Marty Robbins is a great thing. Plus, Marty was a racer. I think he would have enjoyed hanging around with you and your crew. He loved to cut up with everyone. He was serious when he was supposed to be, but he had a wicked sense of humor. He was from Arizona originally, so not that far from your base. Keep teaching them the good stuff.
My 2015 Hyundai Elantra GLS makes it through everything. Has winter tires on it in the Winter. Ive driven through over a foot of snow....as long as I keep the speed. She'll push through!
Oh man! I'm so excited to see "THE GAMES." Sadly, I'm not able to travel from Ottawa, Canada at this time. Maybe, one day, I will be able to convince my son in Edmonton, Alberta to go on a road trip with me to see the games. You guys better have enough camera men at THE GAMES! You're going to have so much awesome footage! Everyone is going to have to do a weeklong marathon watch after it's all over! Can't wait!
Another recovery in the books. Along with as well as things went, Matt met another doggie in Cohen riding shotgun in the Ford. Matt even commented on how Cohen had recently had a bath. It is the simple attention to detail things that make up life. The lady will remember not only how Matt got her out of the ditch, but will remember more so that Matt was kind to her dog. That is how one builds rapport without even trying.
You guys are the best and your singing is so great because you do things in a fun manner and that is what makes it so good. Love your videos. God Bless.
