i'm so used to genshin shitty gacha system i don't really care what i got from the banner and just let everything flow like a water, that way i can just enjoy myself shooting enemies without worrying for anything since this game already Skill based unlike games like HSR where character is extremely important
PGR is the gacha standard for me. I did not even install Honkai Star Rail and will likely never install another Hoyo game. This company is added to the list, despite the game being really fun and well designed as a game (bugs aside). 50/50 is not an option, there are too many substitute goods (like my entire Steam library) for me to settle for a system like this and if it works for others, that's fine, I won't bash it like I won't bash Genshin or Hoyo. Just not for me. Tower of Fantasy is also an acceptable gacha system. Especially for the size of the game and amount of good content. But, honestly other than that, I can't see playing too many more gachas in the future. This one is the first I've tried since Tower of Fantasy and Genshin. Wuthering Waves will probably be the next, but as a whole, only PGR is actually worth time and money in value compared to doing nearly anything else lol.
Totally agree with you, for me PGR have the best gacha system. I think Kurogame should be the standard for gacha game not Hoyoverse. As fun and as creative Hoyoverse game is I already boycott all Hoyoverse games and I won't ever play any Hoyoverse game, because for me Hoyoverse gacha system suck.
@@compact6038 Honkai Star Rail being better than PGR is like saying Final Fantasy is better than Dark Souls. It's completely subjective. Solely as a gacha system, HSR is not even close to PGR. Not even remotely.
Actually a great vid on Snowbreak. Been playing religiously every day (well waiting on Presence refills and level caps) but almost lvl 70. I’m worried about how mid-late game you don’t really shoot things anymore. Since last weeks auto-clear update just log in to dump presence for levels. Glad to see these types of events where we get to actually play and shoot things in game lol.
Yeah, if the new weekly event mode was coop, that would be a great way to spend time seeing how far you can go with friends with different comps. Hopefully a coop version is coming bc that's the most fun mode in the game so far. Defending points and navigating a map against swarms is generally better than spamming shots at a single spongey boss.
Played since day 1. Still loving the game .. but like other gachas not being able to get the new banner char is a lil bit frustrating. Since i made a mistake by focusing on pulling for the weapon. The game is still quite fun. Hopefully my opinion of it doesn’t change anytime soon.
Chenxing isnt a must pull anyway, Fenny and Yao are still my picks for best starter 5*. And when realize a Mauxir lvl 60 thats m3 absolutely demolish lvl90 bosses comfortably behind cover in 2:35 this game is kinda f2p friendly.
Being in the mid-60's levels right now, I can confirm that the resources start to dry up. Weapons upgrades and resources become more scarce, cost for Logistics increases (especially if youre +15 doesn't roll a good bonus stat and you have to get the item to reroll). With the event going on, it costs presence, so now we're balancing the already EXTREMELY limited presence we get daily into grinding the event so we can get those limited resources mentioned earlier. Overall though, I love the feel of the game and couldn't agree more about playing on PC vs mobile; night and day difference.
The rates are bad so most of the time you will pull units at pity but the great news is you only need to do it 1 time and grind the rest of the way to max that units manifestations(dupes). The weapon banner is the same but the weapon refine max is 2 so only need to pull that 2x. I recommend to any newcomer to use their beginner banner right away and pick the other 5* they want on the free selector wisely.
I am loving this game. I find myself playing the co-op even when out of rewards to get because its just fun. Its very F2P friendly too. Isnt for everyone though.
To be fair yes Snowbreak's gacha is similar to Genshin's but just a tiny bit more friendly with a lower pity. But overall Snowbreak's is way more better when you factor in the total value players get. For example in Genshin, you want to get the best version of the limited weapon? Well to get R5 weapons you need the base copy(1) and then 5 more to get from R0 to R5, that's a lot. Meanwhile here in Snowbreak with their recent update you just need to get the base copy(1) and then just 1 more to modify to the highest tier. Yes no kidding you only need 2 copies of the weapon as to Genshin's 6 and also those off-banner weapons? those can be recycled to get 10 weapon points wherein you need 30 to buy a copy of any 5* weapon that you already own which means even if you get tons of non rate up weapons those are still useful for recycling then buying an owned weapon copy from the shop. For characters? do I need to say more the fact that the character progression is closer to PGR is already a good sign, I mean if they do decide to continue down the PGR path rather than Genshin's this game's future looks good.
Good points about the wep system. That is huge. Especially being able to trade three weapons for any max weapon including limiteds AND buythe standard weapons outright with currency from the gacha. Considering how strong at least three of the standard weapons are, the weapon system is a highlight.
@@nottyseel949 yes that's right, also to set the right expectation, people would still need to spend if they want to get both character and weapon(unless they're super lucky) but they would definitely spend way, way less than whatever anyone would spend in Genshin's weapon banner to max its tier.
I don't know of many people who go for R5 on a weapon in Genshin. An R0 signature weapon is already like the equivalent of a T2 in Snowbreak and going above R0 is just overkill for all content in Genshin. Constellations Vs Manifestations on the other hand, Snowbreak hands down. The fact that you can get max "constellations" for your Operative just by logging in essentially is nuts for a gacha.
@@GoodwillWright T2 weapons are pretty cracked. The weapon alone can carry you and make supports DPS characters. Even Staff of Homeless required many other pieces in place before it would change your results in the abyss. I'd definitely say the weapons in Snowbreak are FAR more impactful to performance, everything else held the same.
@@nottyseel949 I think that was my point. I was saying that refining weapons in Genshin is less necessary than Snowbreak, relative. But Genshin compensates for that by having so many interactions between your characters that boost damage like the elemental reactions. Snowbreak doesn't really have that and most of the damage will be from the on-field operative. Meaning that the gear for that Operative is more important because there is few other external sources to boost their damage. Also, Snowbreak seems to have a bit of a balance between skill damage and shot damage for better or worse. While you look at Genshin, auto-attacks do basically nothing and 90% of your damage will be from skills.
At least not 50/50 for Debut Banner 😬 It's quite frustrating for those Lose the 50/50 may or may not _(depending on the person)_ became easier to walk out and not interested to the Game again. I played with Phone + Gyro, sweet & no problem, to those who have basic FPS Game Mobile from other game, they usually can adapt easily with modifying some button as they wanted too. 😊
I love the game. I'd give 8/10 for what it is now but it has potential for 10/10 if it gets more investment. Definitely the most fun gameplay I've ever had in gacha games, more than Genshin, more than Star Rail, more than FGO and even more than PGR which I felt that was kinda tiring at times. It just needs that polish that hoyo games have but for that they need a playerbase that brings in money.
The game has some things going for it (story + character interaction + being able to farm 5* shards) but it isn't very good in and of itself. Cash shop makes it even worse I think what's starting to annoy me about these new gachas is that they're greedy af. Gachas are greedy by definition, but these guys all have their eyes on Mihoyo and want to make that money without making the investment. The cash shop is a joke. The gacha industry right now is mad -- it's like if every trash game in the Steam store looked at AAA game prices and decided to try to charge you $90 for their low quality content. A lower quality game should have the awareness of a lower quality game and price itself accordingly
Well we can only blame Hoyoverse for setting the "gold standard" on how to milk players out of their money. Genshin is still making tons of money per banner while being out for almost 3 years while almost non-roadmap related content has been stagnant for almost 3 years now. I also think Snowbreak knows that their game ain't close to Genshin's sheer size and quality of content, not being an open world RPG alone is proof that the game ain't big that's why they went the hybrid route of copying Gesnhin's gacha but making their character progression closer to PGR and they even made their weapon gacha and rank-up system way much better than Genshin's weapon gacha could ever dream about.
bro you pay for gambling simulators that pad out their story to the ends of the earth instead of doing the smart thing and buying a fully priced mobile game.
Snowbreak is not so bad the gacha is pretty decent if you lose 50/50 you get guaranteed on the next one. Other gachas doesn't have this system so sometimes you get like 3-4 off-banners before you get the actual banner. Also you don't need to pull dupes for chars which is a HUGE factor since you can farm them.
It's a really good game with a very so-so Gacha system. Though, even with the S-rank picker and the beginner banner (which guarantees 2 S-Ranks), you could pretty much finish most of the game (given that you do the usual grind and character building). If only they followed the 100% Guarantee for debut banners --- just like with PGR, instead of the 50/50 system like Genshin's.
Wait the beginner banner guarantees 2 S ranks? I was told it guaranteed 1 and if you got an S rank early that was it the guarantee was spent and the banner wasn't worth pulling further on.
it's definitely only one, HOWEVER, if you lucksack in the first 10 pull the pity resets, which gives you a ***chance*** to lucksack another ssr because there's a hidden rate up that happens as you get closer to pity. it happened to me, but it is still a matter of luck even with the first 10 pull lucksack. what I'd say is *if* you have the time, you might want to reroll until you get an ssr in the first 10 pull. I got super lucky and got yao in my first 10 pull, then fenny for the second. hope that helps!
@@salinalee2613ah, gotcha, I got Fenny in my second 10 pull iirc, I suppose over time I could pull the rest. At a minimum it will clear the banner so it's not always there bugging me lol
I'm not into gacha, games like Genshin and Arknights really pushed me away, even tho I really love open world RPGs and Tower Defence games. But this just feels fun, at least for now. From what I saw you can get items to level your guns and characters just from missions, and rolling is not a necesity, so that's great. I really hope it won't turn around and kick me in the ass for not wanting to spend too much money on rolls.
it plays great like you said but the gatch is kinda me , a lot of the content is locked behind the its energy system outside of challenge stages i am very casual in playing these but HSR and Genshin seem to able to give more content to the casual player without having them worry about grind materials , its kinda hard to look forward to getting a character or trying to roll for them when im already strugling to keep my main 3 powered up but i am trying to balance snowbreak ,. HSR . and GI ,. once Hoyoverse's Zenless Zone Zero comes out, i might drop this if it doesnt get better
The trick to using a sniper on mobile is turn autofire on and use a fast ROF sniper rifle (because the scope stays zoomed in between shots). As soon as you move your reticle over the enemy it will fire, which makes aiming relatively easy, even headshots. Otherwise yeah, it's horrible to snipe in mobile.
I'm only 4 months late to the channel... >.> I've been playing Snowbreak for almost 4 months now, and have been having a fairly good time. I'm level 87, and can verify that once you get to 60+ that's where your resources REALLY start to fade! Silverbucks (Cash) is used for EVERYTHING as you note in your video, and it really becomes a limiting factor. Maxing your weapons are also limited by the ascension materials (Carbon Atomic Plate) that the game limits you to 4 every 4 weeks by taking part in the Underground Purge activities. Events allow you to get up to another 5, but when trying to level multiple weapons to 80, a month for maybe 2 5-star weapons to get there is a LONG time to wait! And things get crazy expensive in terms of ascending weapons and logistics, cash-wise. But there are multiple avenues to gain cash in this game, including anything in the Dispatch section of the game. Pretty much anything you take part in will give you some kind of cash, even if it's only 2K or something. But that all adds up! Overall, I think the game is GREAT! It's a lot of fun to run around shooting things, and I totally agree it's like PGR and The Division had a love child! (It's no wonder I've been going back to The Division 2 lately...) The BIGGEST worry I have at the moment is that the developers just announced that they are dropping the English language VA's, right as the patch was being dropped! (Oh, and for compensation, all they gave us was a single Standard Banner ticket...?!?! ONE! * face palm *) This concerns the He|_|_ outta me as I happen to LOVE the English VA's, and now leaving it on English as the Voicing, things come in both English and Japanese. It loses the 'immersion' aspect of the game. And the feeling in the community is they are cutting costs by doing this, and seeing the latest data on Gacha Earnings we are of course seeing only the negative side and a lot are going to hold off on any more spending until things settle down. As much as I love the game, I'm worried for it's future. But maybe it's just the ebb and flow of Gacha spending...? IDK. In any case, I haven't seen any newer videos of yours covering Snowbreak, so maybe this is something to talk about in another video? Thank you for this one and hope to see more Snowbreak coverage soon™! Cheers~! 🍻
0:47 as much as i like snowbreak i absolutely hate this system, i never had a great experience on both genshin and this game's gacha, so i decided to only use the beginner 4* characters that appeared in chapter 1. My advice is if you want to keep yourself sane then building some good 4* characters isn't bad at all 😳
I have 6 orange 5 star characters and 3 orange 5 star weapons. I did NOT spend any money in this game and I am level 88. Do not spend any money in this game. Just earn by pulling over 4 months can get you a lot of rewards. Patience is a virtue if you wait long enough then you'll reap for rewards. I used the sniper on my iphone and I am really good at sniping enemies.
A lot of folks might swing by this video for a first impression take still so I wanted to leave a couple of updates now a few months in. First up is obviously the game will be more enjoyable with mouse and keyboard or controller but there is 6 axis aiming for mobile. If you've played any amount of splatoon, you will feel super comfy playing on your phone and you can combine that with an option to automatically fire when an enemy is in the crosshairs. This makes the mobile aiming experience leagues better, especially for sniping. Also they've added an open world island ala genshin for exploration and challenges and a lot of premium currency so the devs do seem committed to a diversity of content.
Warning for who play on pc client, There is a known bug that will ramp up your your gpu usage to 90-100% during loading screen/lobby and make your gpu temp skyhigh without you knowing. Happen on some gpu like 6800xt/3070ti.
My experience was the opposite in regards to phone vs PC performance. My PC has lots of hitching but the phone experience has been buttery smooth. It's not a deal breaker but can be for some so I hope the devs fix that quickly. I see a bright future for the game as long as the devs can push the patches and fixes the community wants quick enough. I actually like the combat in Snowbreak more than PGR (but I'm extremely biased having grown up playing primarily third and first person shooters).
The mouse not working and had to restart game at launch was hella annoying they sorta fixed it now cuz if I give it a few seconds the mouse comes back.
i know its been a while after this vid but snowbreak currency is decent now im f2p, i didnt spend anything not for skins even and I have the new 5* Chenxing and 5* Haru with both their 5* sig weapons with their logistics officers set fully build and best you can farm shards slowly to get dupes upgrades like my Chenxing has her 1st dupes manifestation unlock very close to get 2nd manifestation and i have almost 2 multies saved but i want to skip next 5* and wait for a support(healer/buffer) hopefully next is a support thou, snowbreak isnt near that bad to what people believe they only saw the bad at start with all the issues but really they are changing some things thou little by little like the puzzle system in your base has been greatly improved giving you more incentive to gift puzzle pieces
Been playing since global launch. It's def very fun. I agree with all you've said in this video. Good break down. Hope the game stays good and has a good future.
Been playing since launch f2p, I have all my main characters + some randoms all maxed (no "constellations") , weapons maxed. Now I have too many resources, saved for new characters. Did I have trouble with resources? A little bit, but either way I didn't need to upgrade my characters to clear content. People just need to be smart about managing their resources. THAT is not the game problem. The REAL problems with the game is the gameplay, it's not complex, the cover system is useless. The daily routine you literally don't play the game unless for the one day of each week, this is obviously terrible and bad design. There's not enough multiplayer content, it could have fun multiplayer activities but they don't know how to make it work even though the game has the potential. Other than that, the game is worth to keep playing hoping the higher ups make decisive choices, that if you end up liking it. You only waste 5 min a day end game. The game has definitely got better but as of the newest update some things became clear. They dropped the English voice acting which could mean, they're not doing financially well to keep supporting it, and each and every update they're going full fanservice route as if they're throwing all the cards available. Characters design were not flashy but they had an idea of a concept, now they're all wearing underwear or very provocative clothing. Also the 2 latest characters have massive bazoongas, no character had bazoongas of that size on launch and their clothing were not stupidily revealing. This is very desperate and it doesn't feel hopeful. Also, to the uploader, please, refrain from using thumbnail with pessimistic text on a struggling game that is actually good and has potential, it drives people away from the game and we don't want that.
Am F2P but have most of the s ranks, just don't have 2 and the one on the current banner so far And my hush is currently manipultion 2 guess am just so lucky only miss out 5 characters in total 2 a ranks and 3 s ranks yeah on part of currency am with you, its so unreal how i am always low on the primary currency and cant even ascend my characters, talking of the stamina i just wish you would get better rewards or much more am not expert at game design but so far thats just terrible
The game itself is not bad, but it lacks content even in early stages, I feel it is very empty and his gacha percentages is horrible. Honestly, I think they missed a great opportunity, where the player could buy the chars and only have to do is pull for weapons banners. Blue rarity even on the A5 would complete the basic story but other content would be difficult. Purple Rarity managed to complete the story on difficult and other more "heavy" content, but with some difficulty and time spent in the phase. Golden rarity high damage and easier to complete the "heavy" challenges. I think it would be the perfect solution for the game.
I played on mobile with controller and so far I really enjoy it! Small screen and compact. Most of the time I played Marian Swift and Changing eternal cloud, this 2 characters just built for mobile device fr
U forgot to mention that weapon only need 1 base and 1 copy to max, and pity at 60, max out at 120, which is way more generous than game G with R5, 80 pity, and the shit max out at 240 pity for a guaranteed one lol. Unwanted SSr weapons can be scraped for point to exchange the one you want at a ratio of 3:1. Also, once a character have been obtained, their shards can be farmed for free. So, get once and done.
Being a day 1 mobile play I can say control does suk 😂😂 but I mostly play with a razor kishi v1 which I believe goes for like 20 bucks which is a controller that connects directly to ur phone and its perfect no lag or anything only real problem I've had is dealing with a heater in my hand but it can be easily fixed by playing near a fan lol
dont pull for the exclusive weapon, the game will only give you the frost 5* star sniper weapon that they already give you for free. Trying to save you.
If you look at the weekly and daily missions you can actually farm 1300+ gems every week. It's definitely not enough so if you want both the char and wep you really have to be sure if you like the character enough.
Ok they fix the camera and i was enjoying it, i was legit having fun and now mi mobile no longer is compatible wow a live service gatcha game, were you could loose your stuff if your mobile suddenly become no loner available wonders
imagine this game like defiance vid game or the division, even doing hunting world boss and coop just doing mission like dungeon over n over again until slowly boring......... i missed so much game like defiance :(
I tried snowbreak and it wasn’t really my thing, the story started fairly strong but the gameplay just wasn’t it. Idk what it was but something felt off. So I think I’ll stick with Honkai Impact
Great gameplay ruined by one of the crappiest kind of gacha system, they managed to implement some of the PGR's stuffs into the game but they added every bad stuffs from Genshin for their gacha system lmao
The gameplay is ass imo, it's just not a very good shooter. Most people who play this game don't seem to have played many shooters (which is fine, of course) but if you do and you're used to something better then it's hard to like the combat. I mostly liked the characters and story and the titan / boss fights (some bosses were fun)
@@johnhallow I'm saying this exclusively from a mobile player perspective tbh since there's currently no other released mobile gacha game with similar gameplay, though I agree compared to other PC games this is pretty much a watered down tps game.
I am someone who has a real potato dual core 4th gen pc which is almost 9 years old now and can't play snowbreak on it so my only ohter option is to play on mobile. As someone who loves snipers and forced to play on mobile I don't feel it's as bad as everyone is making out to be. With aim assist on if your scope is anywhere near the enemy if you press the fire button and hold it to be on aim mode the ai auto aims for you. Most of the time it will just hit the enemy but it's not impossible to get headshots after headshots. I play yao winter soulsts and with this aim assist on I can get free headshots on the enemy but of course pc will always be better.
That was mi problem, in mobile is aweful, in pc with controls or mouse and keybaord you can move and shoot, in mobile i try and try, is hoeeible because is not design for the way you grab a mobile phone and that is what is killing it
I think the f2p income is not that bad ,,, you will be getting one char worth pulls every patch ,,, so 100% chance getting an waifu in per 2 patch if loose 50-50
at least i can drop pgr because they dont have much event i will play and they are too short , most of event is just like play trial characters with not much reward to grind If you pure f2p i would say u shoud play when pgr release event about free character or just free box select s rank free , u will have motive to grind
Snowbreak is a great game. I definitely want them to focus on coop content. I personally like the mobile controls so it's probably just a matter of opinion.
It's not smooth, I hate the game, the movements, heck even the event where there's movement sucks lol! It's so f annoying, how is it so bad!!! other games def have smoother movements but this one is just like one of those other old shooting games
Game is fun, gacha is trash. Signature weapons are so much better for the character you want that it doesn't feel good if you get one but not the other, so as F2P you need to save FOR A LOOOOONG TIME to have enough to guarantee both.
Ah yes HI3 where the pity is 200, you fucking dumbass. The upside of 50/50 is you're guaranteed on the next one. If you don't have the 50/50 system you'll be getting off-banners in a row.
what the fuck is this video about? you talked most of the video about the gotcha stuff and then you present game modes without showing them. there was no gameplay in this video. also youre only level 32. thats 2 days playtime. for me the reason why im interested in snowbreak is because of gameplay and team synergies / team building. all of the game modes are pretty challenging and i like that a lot as a meta player in games the gunplay in this game is pretty fun also the skills, ults and qtes are very well made, because they have a good balance between cooldown and energy every single unit feels very different to play with theire unic playstyle the coop is very fun, but can be improved
I hate this gacha system. I played Genshin. I experienced that system from day 1 until today, and I despise it. Any game that chooses to rip that system, I will 100% avoid it. If a company wants to implement it, they better innovate and make it better; otherwise, I'm not going to tolerate it. Good thing I'm not into shooters.
You realize you have more chances to get off-banner characters without the 50/50 right? Like Onmyoji for example, that 1.25% rate up is not enough to guarantee you the char when you get an SSR pull. There are a lot of times where I get off-banners in rows. If they had 50/50 then I only needed to get 2 for a guaranteed unit.
@@ReiswaltI'll give Snowbreak: Containment Zone a try to see if I like the story, and if I really like the characters. I will accept the gacha, but if not, then I will just be torturing myself.
I’m pissed at this game for completely scrapping male characters, there was one during beta and it was understood there would be more, and then puff, some assholes on cn complained and they just scrapped them
Bro i hear what you are saying but gacha games ate gacha games for a reason. Those who want to play and pull ill do so and and those who dont will find something else to play
