This time we have two of the biggest scouts in snowrunner i.e TUZ 420 "Tatarin" and YAR 87, one is an APC and other is a 6x6 offroader. we'll do some tests on them to see which one is best among them.
I will say through personal experience, the thing with the TUZ-420 "Tatarin" is that you don't actually need or want to be in low or high gear at just about any point. The thing will plow through next to everything at near full speed just by being in auto gear.
Honestly these tests are completely unfair for the tuz! I've been driving both and unlike the yar I hardly ever take the tuz out of auto. Also a pull test on pavement does not show tuz capabilities. I've pulled fully loaded rigs with semi trailers through deep mud that the yar cant go through alone. I enjoy your comparison videos but I just feel this one was biased.
the tuz is really ment to be used in Automatic for higher gears, I request a retest with Automatic on for Mud/swamp you'll notice a difference at least I did.
@@vincentmiller7090 exactly thats why I use the tuz or one of the other good scouts that dont get stuck in mud. If I need to pull a trailer I use the big ford scout truck
I am going to choose the Russian APC. Because, în a off road game, you don't need speed, you need to be steady, you need power. But, if i will go in the snow, i will choose the 6X6 one.
Did you know the TANK can easyly win in everything allmost but road if aoutomatic gear box is allowed because of the constant AWD amd diff loch it can drive in max gear in basicly ANY terain if ur not going 90 degrees up of course so the tank is ectremly much better
It's a very slow gas-guzzling truck that can't even haul trailers (so no fuel trailer for that long trip) which makes it useless as a scout. Might as well use azov 5319 for scouting, it's 8x8 but at least it's faster.
Unfortunately this one isn't very accurate since he gimped the APC by keeping it in low. I drove them both back to back, and then had a friend drive my 6x6 while I was in the APC. Despite the APC having a lower top speed, if we did anything other than a paved road I always ended up ahead by a wide margin. Especially in mud.
Hi SD! You missed 1 thing for the Tuz 420, its the best vehicle in the game to go through snow. That thing is like a snowmobile. Also testing it in low gear is disadvantageous for it, the point of low gear is to limit the tire slipage but for a lot of your test it was not even close to spin. Anyway, i like these test video! Keep them coming!!
Yes finally a pull test! This is important even for scout vehicles and one of the reasons I prefer International loadstar 1700 over almost every other scout in this game, it can easly pull heavy vehicles and big 2x cargo over steep hills and rough terrain where other scouts struggle
Loadtstar 1700 is favourite, was the first vehicle i bought, sold the chevy ck1500 and the gmc starting truck to buy it haha, Really big and heavy with hige tyres and a big lift kit, plus it has the truck wheel options so you aent limited to the 2 default ones the other scouts have can make it look so much better, and has alot more repair points and fuel than the other scouts too, IMO it's the best scout in the game these 2 are way overpowered and make the game too easy
Both of the vehicles are great. I personally would choose the APC because of the shire power. If you put it in snow, it acts like dirt. If you put the Yar in snow, it acts like a mud pit.
I've honestly resorted to just the Tatarin due to how capable it truly is. It's easy on fuel for being so slow, it rarely every gets truly stuck, it can sustain itself for a very long time and is capable of heavy recovery. Only downfall which isnt that big a deal at least for me is no trailer towing capability. Granted it does take out the challenge of scouting, it has a good role to play which most scouts cant normally handle. It's only real faults are being slow, horrid on ice. Granted fuel consumption is high but not bad enough to be a negative impact
3:47 Amphibious vehicle in real life : "I can swim in watery mud almost as fast as i can drive on land" Amphibious vehicle in snowrunner : "Halp mud hurts my engine!!!"
True TUZ don't need low gear but even there yar 87 it's not to far in speed i have test it them both , it's like SD1ONE said, Yar it's a best scout overall and TUZ the best rescue, and in snow yar it's he best
After unlocking the 420 my YAR just sits in the garage. For me personally the 420 is far more capable in basically every way and task. There is nothing in the game that can traverse crazy terrain at the speeds it can maintain. Since it pretty much cant roll it can get away with the big winch instead of the autonomous and has massive pulling power.
Never ever problems with yar 87 if you change your gears well and timed it's not so behind TUZ trust me , TUZ maybe it's almost unstopable but that's not everything , what i wanted to see it's yar 87 vs Khan but i think Yar will win
I feel as if this is a unfair test. The Tuz can power through most terrain without even needing to change gears into low or high. The Yar on the other hand needs low and high allot more. So really you are bottlenecking boths vehicles in these tests and simply leaving it to the physics because the Tuz is a heavier vehicle. But if you tested them and put them in the gear that best gets them over the obstacle then you will find the Tuz will come out on top allot more.
Agreed, this test does not really show the power of TUZ - you feel much more confident in it than in YAR, because it can basically never get stuck and you can go through anything just using the Auto gear. Also, although TUZ uses much more fuel than YAR, it has a huge tank, it is extremly stable because it is low and wide and has so much torque that it can pull any truck in the game. IMHO, TUZ is the most overpowered vehicle in the game, sans Azov 64131.
In my Snowrunner, I've modded it manually in order to add ice tires to the Tatarin, so it can go on ice. Simply by adding these lines below: I have also slightly increased the tire size to 50'.
I'm requesting a retest on this. I just got the TUZ and I have never once touched the low gear, cuz the TUZ just powers through the mud due to how powerful the engine is.
@@reinbeers5322 Not really, there's always a balance. The tuz would be the most OP scout if it could tow trailers and go amphibious. Even the good trucks can't do everything. And yeah there's balance in single player/co-op games lol.
@@zarants Balance like certain trucks being direct upgrades over others? Can't think of any, especially none that have been covered in this channel before in some sort of faceoff with multiple challenges...
Great vid, no bullshit commentary, just great content. Please make more. I found the YAR 87 has a high center of gravity, keeps tipping over for me. Yet to unlock the TUZ.
Just a note on the fuel consumption figures, it looks like you've done an average of the max and idle figures which, while it does offer a direct comparison between vehicles, isn't a true average figure, you'd be better off doing a real world test by driving from point to point over mixed terrain and seeing how much was used. The max and idle figures are still very useful to know, but shouldn't necessarily be uses to get an average. That said I know it's a lot of extra work and you've already done loads for each of these videos! Anyway, keep up the good work, I'm enjoying these comparisons a lot. I've just unlocked the YAR and it's amazingly capable due to having the weight spread over 50% more tyre area than a typical 4x4.
You should do these test on all trucks and give them points 1-10, then make a list of every different class and rank the vehicles. So when you’re done it’s easy to tell what trucks have been tested and how they compared to others
Dragon Butt this guys English isn’t good at all I’m guessing. He said no snorkel but can’t take water damage and then 2 minutes later he’s taking water damage in the 8x8. Idiot
If anyone wants to know how to get the tank legit go to the third russian map and its on top of the mountain near the garage, you just have to go to it and its your for free.
You can go too the rift and do a mission called the pacifist mission and you have to tow t tux out and you have to refuel and repair i recommend bringing a vanbody adon a a big fuel trailer and you get it for free
The yar is much better it has excellent range can handle anything you throw at it the Marshall is the same but as soon as it comes to steep hills and extreme angles or rocks your toast
Khan has the same disadvantages as the APC, it can't used chain tired and can't tow... Honestly because of this I feel the best Scout is : 1) Yar 2)Chevy 3)Hummer And I would list both the Khan and the APC behind them because of there lack of needed options!
Thanks for doing all these videos really enjoy watching them and learning but, In pull test why would you shift from normal to high? Yar would've made that climb easily in normal or low gear
As others have stated, putting the TUZ 420 in low gear completely gimped the tests. It never needs to be in low gear. It goes through the thickest of mud much faster than pretty much any other vehicle in the game if you leave it in automatic. On top of being much faster than portrayed in the video it is also the most stable scout vehicle. You can safely go full speed through the roughest, bumpiest terrain without worry of rolling it over. Unlike the YAR 87 which rolls quite easily. I have used the TUZ to rescue the YAR on a number of occasions, while the TUZ never needs rescuing.
Free tips for any scout that is steady and have a good power you can use your winch. So even the TUZ Tatarin can have a fuel trailer it's is just not attached directly to him.
And you can use the Tatarin like a invincible scout, I honestly climb so many mountains using only the whinch, just before full speed of the cliff. The heaviness of the Tuz make it hard to flip so you can invest in a strong and long winch instead of the autonomous winch.
BossBaouzza the YAR 87 is very easy to unlock all you have to do is get to experience level 10 and it unlocks for purchase the other can be found on the last Russian map
I also noticed when you turn , the vehicle doesn’t turn right away like other games , your tires have to align themselves to the direction you turned to first . I don’t think there’s input lag , I think you just have to keep your tires straight on the road and it should go , make slight adjustments to the direction like little taps and it should be straight
Raul Tomusca I know what you mean , when I started this and couldn’t drive straight I was about to say hell Na fuck this game but kept at it and now it’s much better
I like the videos you do for all these, one thing I think is missing from this one is the sheer fact that the TUZ 420 is way more fun to drive, not only that but it literally plows through everything in the game faster than the YAR 87, also the YAR 87 seems to have an issue where it'll sink in mud that's non-existent. Just my opinion from a console stand point, not sure if the difference is because of that.
Torque doesnt matter in the pull test (at 04:41). The YAR has enough power, but the wheels are spinning. It is too light. The TUZ has more traction because it is heavier, therefore it pulls better and it won this test.
2:29 The YAR has the advantage because you put the Tatarin in low. There’s actually no need to put the Tatarin in low. I want a new video where the Tatarin isn’t on low.
If tuz had chains and a snorkel (or better was actually amphibious) it would kick all the but. But lack of chain wheels really hurts on snow maps, especially imandra and kovd.
You are a Snowrunner master, i love your test vídeos, so fun. You can add the climbing (crawling) test on a good Hill. Keep doing this fantastic job!!!
Tuz is a special vehicle. Best scout for crazy shortcuts. I've explored every top of the mountain with tatatrin. Also good for some timed chalanges as insted of a tricky tippy winding rock crawling approach, you can go literally straight to objective in Tatarin. Also the cone nose shape is best to navigate dense forest. it pushes the trees aside and it makes room. Also for true offroad (not the usual paths markerd or present do be inteded to drive on) tatarin really shines slaloming trees and going nearly vertically to every mountain top. And is a good rescue vehicle to unflip/unstuck other bigger trucks. Very slow in manual, but on auto stays at 5/5 most of the time even when cutting through marhes, forests, pits, mountains, muddy beaches, etc.
I remember when I FIRST got my WhiteStar in Smithville took an hour to haul it out of its resting place...did the same mission with the Tatarin literally took 3 min...
I love both of em :D I gladly switch from various vehicles, each and every one of them are better for different locations and terrain in my opinion. So in different garages, different vehicles.
I generally use scout vehicles in a convoy in multiplayer. So, Tuz for me. A lot of that has to do with not tipping over and being able to tip others rightside up.
Tatarin is OP if big 8x8 struggle to tow broken farm truck in russia but when I found this Taterin it pulled another broken 6 wheeled truck across all 3 russia maps with ease. I fixed the broken truck at the garage😂Also slanted nose doesn't take engine damage when I go full speed into holes. ssst best vehicle ever but I still love the Tayga as it one awesome and fast 6x6👍
Would also be good to see what sort of angle they can drive at before they fall on their side ! That’s what all I seem to do with these cars in this game 😂😂😂
Bit weird that the Tuz is taking damage because of the deep water. It's pretty much an apc/boat. The design is supposed to make it withstand pretty much any river. Hopefully, future patches/updates or even mods could fix it's behaviour.
Its gonna be mods...but if you think about it if it could do everything would you play anything else?... Dont get me wrong but I think the devs were right in artificially nerfing the thing...when mods release we'll see how far it goes
It's hard to choose because Tuz is Rescue (kind of) and it's a good scout in like in Taymar Russia, but the Yar 87 is a good scout like let's say in maps like Alaska or Lake Kovd for icy roads and lakes because it has chained tires plus it holds trailers so you can tow the scout trailers or the scout radar trailer.
Try uphill on a loose rock no trail through the forest. Weight capacity on a winch tow. Also passenger capacity. Have you seen inside that APC? I have seen tartarin pull a heavy rig with a heavy trailer through mud! When you need to cross water the yar is better. When you need to get up a mountain or rescue a vehicle. The tank can pull like nobodys business.
The tuz 420 has some quirks that make it stand out, and is pretty unstoppable. But with even a mild level of skill driving you can outperform it in nearly every area other then pure pulling power driving something else.
The Tatarin is better for scouting watchtowers and for conquests. You can do Mountain conquests in Alaska with Tatarin easier. Also I prefer power instead of speed in harsh areas.
@@Louis-gr4cz zimnegorsk Russia, you have to find it. You have to do 2 geologist research missions before you unlock the zone. Took me like 4 hours. But i underestimated Russia. Russia is more like the original mudrunner game
