You have to hear "Will it go round in circles", an extremely fun song. Also "Born Again" was a great love song and a departure from his normal sound. For more of the Beatles connection, you might want to watch the movie Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The acting isn't good, but the music is. The movie features some of your most favorite artists.

I always loved his music. Once you hear Will It Go Round in Circles, you won't be able to get the song out of your head. He sat in with the Beatles in their famous roof top concert-part of the music showed up on their Let it Be album. In fact he played organ for the song Let it Be. He performed for George Harrison's concert for Bangladesh, in which he sang That's the Way God Planned It. He was loved by both sides of the racial divide. He wrote You Are So Beautiful, the song Joe Cocker had the big hit on. I can't say enough good things about him.

When I was 14,my insightful and indulgent parents bought me the Concert for Bangladesh triple album for Christmas. It was the first time I heard Billy Preston and I have been a fan ever since. It was also the first time I had ever heard Bob Dylan and that started a love affair that lasted a lifetime. I also found out, through that record, about Eric Clapton and Leon Russel. Thanks mum and dad. The best Christmas present ever.

Billy was a fifth Beatle on the Let It Be album, but he wasn’t supposed to be. He showed up to say hi, since he had met them while touring with Little Richard. On film, the Beatles tell him his playing gave them a “breath of fresh air”. His solo on Get Back is iconic!! In the Get Back documentaryHe has a great smile and always seems happy. “Outa Space” is awesome, but an instrumental, “Will It Go Round In Circles” is a good one too! There’s a great live version on RU-vid from Midnight Special.

Yeah, they should definitely check out that 3-part Beatles documentary. Even though it's almost too much at times (as a massive Beatle fan, even I found myself thinking it could use a lot of editing), when Billy shows up it's really cool, because it really just fell together almost accidentally. And he's so laid-back and chill, John Lennon says to Billy something like, "We never actually asked you if you wanted to be here," and he responds that it's all good and he's having fun and getting into the groove.

@@RobSquadReactions be sure to add "With You I'm Born Again" - you speak about the diversity of his talent, and this song really showcases that. It's a beautiful duet ballad. Such a departure. He actually *hated* the song, but you could never tell from his live performance with Syreeta. (His hair is even different - no 'fro!)

What even many fans don’t know is Billy started very young. There’s live recordings on RU-vid, in black n white, of him on TV playing when he was 10-11 years old. Not only did he play with many greats he was basically a child prodigy. Also, it’s interesting you posted My Sweet Lord today too because Billy and George were friends. At a Concert for George, a year after he passed, many musicians did a tribute concert for George and Billy sang My Sweet Lord ☺️ That whole concert is on RU-vid too, just btw 😁 Finally, Eric Clapton is also on a Beatles song. He plays the solo in While my guitar gently weeps. And Clapton helped arrange the concert for George. AND, before he passed, billy played in Clapton’s band during the first Crossroads Guitar Festival in 2004. RIP Billy

The immortal Billy Preston! How interesting that you do this right after "My Sweet Lord", considering George Harrison gave Billy to do a version of in 1970! Perhaps Billy's most famous song is "In the Midnight Hour", which you should definitely do next! "Will It Go Round in Circles" is also a banger.

Another artist on a record with the Beatles: Eric Clapton played guitar on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." Also, of course, George Martin played keys on many early Beatles songs. A couple of Apple scruffs sang on "Across the Universe." Yoko screeched on "Bungalow Bill". And of course many string players across their catalog. What Billy Preston has is that he is the only guest artist that is listed on the label: Get Back was credited to The Beatles feat. Billy Preston.

J/Amber, Billy's "Outa Space" and "Space Race" will have you out of your seats and dancing. We had a line dance to Space Race. There is a longer Funky Purrfection version of Outa Space on RU-vid!!! Did you catch the lyrics ‘I’m a soldier in the war on poverty'. Awesome.

Ah-ha, you reacted to Billy Preston! Jay, you asked for keyboards and some of us suggested Billy. You will also love "Will It Go Round In Circles" on the Midnight Special. His 'fro is even bigger. Above all you MUST do Billy's duet with Syretta Wright called "With You I'm Born Again." It' a love song and absolutely stunning in it's beauty. Their voices are magical together. I defy you two not to be blown away. This should be your next choice to show his diversity. React to the Live 1979 version on Top of the Pops. Hands down my favorite duet. By the way, Billy is finally getting inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year.

Billy stopped into one of the 'Let it Be' album, recording sessions, just to say hello to the band as he happened to be in London. He had met them years earlier. They almost instantly recruited him for the album. Smart move on their part.

George Harrison temporarily quit The Beatles. . When he returned he brought Billy Preston to join The Beatles in the studio. Played keyboard on of Let It Be" ‘Get Back’ "Don't Let Me Down" and others. Preston performed with The Beatles during their famous rooftop performance.

Billy Preston is a legend. Great pianist and great voice. I love him in the song With You I’m Born Again, one of my favorite ballads of all time. It’s a duet with Syreeta. He is super versatile. Other performers did play on the Beatles albums, such as Eric Clapton. But no one else spent as o much time in the studio with them. In fact in that recent film about the Beatles you will see him here snd there. Thanks for reminding me of this classic song

Love Billy (RIP) he could make an organ talk! Great musician and song writer who has played and wrote for the best. All he did for the Beatles, they still didn’t give him the full credit he deserved. Even with his personal struggles, he still held on to his faith. He wrote YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL for his Mom (very close to her). Also when he was young he played and sang with Nat King Cole on his show. Check out the video

I saw Billy and George Harrison together at a concert at Madison Square Garden back in the 70s. It was mind blowing how good it was. I feel sorry for your generation because you can't see concerts like the ones back then. Our whole life revolved around music. Almost any great band or solo artist I have seen in concert. It also didn't cost you a weeks salary for a ticket. The only regret I have is never could score a Led Zeppelin ticket. We tried every tour but that was like hitting the lottery, even though there was no lottery back then. Keep digging into this type of music, you have only scratched the surface. You two are terrific.

Actually, he wasn't the only artist to play on a Beatles record. There were plenty. But he was the best! The Beatles loved him and he enjoyed working with them. He played on the Let It Be album and a little on the Abbey Road album as well. He was a successful solo artist on his own and he was an incredible musician.

Billy plays a mean piano. He was sooo popular back in the 70’s. Great songs, so much energy. Billy was not the only other person to play on a Beatles album. Eric Clapton to name one played guitar on “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”. Of course if you love the piano, then please listen to “Mama This One’s For You” by Beth Hart from the Live From The Royal Albert Hall show. You will both love it. ❤️✌🏼😎 P.S. The Beatles' song where he can be best heard is in their song "Get Back." He's the one on piano/keyboard. It's one of my favorite Beatles songs. And I don't think you've done it yet. Also, in the "Concert for George," staged shortly after George Harrison's death, Billy performs George's signature hit, "My Sweet Lord," and it is beyond phenomenal. It'll make the hair on your arms stand up and give you goosebumps.

I saw Billy Preston play with The Rolling Stones in 1975 at Madison Square Garden. I had seats all the way up top. Suddenly, Billy Preston came through the aisles with a keyboard strapped onto him, and he was singin to us. He visited different levels of seats. I will never forget that he came up to play and sing to us in the cheap seats!! If you want a really fun instrumental, listen to Billy Preston’s “Space Race!”
