Yeah, so I bought PC DVD OFFLINE OSU CD from Shopee. This definitely isn't legal and peppy definitely didn't approve of this thing either. I... don't think this is a bootleg osu game either because... that would take too much effort and that would be kinda funny and cursed if they did though...

People are getting the wrong idea that I think that Shopee is a sketchy website itself. Well no, it's not. It's like Lazada... Ebay? Amazon? It's just the store (the user I bought from, in Shopee they call them 'stores') itself that's pretty funky. A few people are commenting and apologising to me about 'Oh Shopee is from X country and I'm sorry we brought this cancer to you'. Well NO. I'm supposed to be the one who is sorry since Shopee came from Singapore (my country) LOL

Right, buying that CD is actually the equivalent of copying osu installer and beatmap folder from a friend's pc to yours because you have limited internet plan or bad speed. But instead, she paid the store 5 SGD for the cd-rom and maybe also the cost of internet and electricity used when downloading it back in 2008 😂

Actually when I was buying pirated games from shady Russians at the local market, before the internet era, they would sell it in normal plastic cases (those ones which can carry at most single disc, but you could fit inside 2-3 with use of slight force), or they would re-use a package/case from another game, you would also see a custom printed cover for the case

oops late reply yes but the whole idea of selling it with beatmaps alongside the CD is VERY illegal. No song copyright was allowed which can lead to a lot of lawsuits but yeah... a lot of maps on osu are by small artists who can't go after legal means...
