So I Installed Poke 646... (Prologue: Hazard Course)

This is the beginning of a series of 7 videos that will be released regularly over the next two weeks. This is a pretty big departure from my usual upload schedule but I hope you all enjoy.

That animation came out of nowhere and I did not expect it and I am 100% here for it.

I remember when poke646 came out, I seen it in PC gamer magazine back in the day. it was a a very well made hl mod that I still think about from time to time.

No need to feel sorry for the Xen Squasher, I'm sure that little thing is having the time of its life. Seeing the world, as much candy as it can regurgitate and a nice warm hand up its forbidden tunnel.

That explode toad is basically jolly in a nutshell. Sure he gets the job done but usually at a massive cost to himself.

exploding as a defence mechanism makes sense on a species wide level, like how some frogs are poisonous it doesn't stop the individual from getting hunted but predators will quickly learn to leave alone

"poke 646" changes the cursor color on the commodore 64, don't know if that means anything

This and Timeline 3 are my favorite halflife mods of all time. This one could easily be one of the half life expansions it's so well made.

I would recommend the mod Half Life But The Plot is Slightly Different, a fun mod IMO.

Honestly the Squisher is really cute as a weapon idea. It's just a critter you feed and it protects you with acid, probly has its own pouch for it too. There needs to be an idle animation where you pet it.

holy heck he's playing one of my favorite Half Life mods

tbh this hazard course is probably the most logical one in the series given that Poke 646 is suppose to be a kinda XCOM style alien threat response force so understanding how a gun and bomb work make way more sense here.

I'm absolutely getting weird Men in Black movie vibes from this.

poke646 is one of the highest quality hl1 mods I have ever played, but it brought me such an immense sense of anger at every turn and I will never play it again

Platforming in 1st person the hardest? How about platforming in 3rd person, in 3D, with a camera that auto-compensates for the jump angle?
