Its 2017 and I still come here n listen to this song. So timeless. Shes so amazing. So much emotion. Flyleaf got me through so many tough times in high school, I'll always love them and this song
This music helped me get away from the world & had a huge influence on the person that i would become for the rest of my life, Thank-You Lacey, Flyleaf, & Josh sturm for allowing Lacey to continue to make beautiful music for us. The world & God really appreciates it. :)
I love Flyleaf. This song is so sweet. It summarizes my past year with two different situations; one good and one not. I might either sing or lip-synch it sometime.
My new fav song :). I love this version so much more than the album version; her voice is so soft and innocent and the instruments all blend together so nicely. It mesmerizing. The lyrics are by far the prettiest lyrics I’ve ever heard ^_^
That's because there are 3 versions of the song. This was passerby's version, then there's the flyleaf's first version of the song (before being signed by a label) and then, the last studio version of the song is on their debut album.
wow reading back over some of this. is crazy! Nobody died. the marriage just didn't work out. its a song about all the things she thought when she was younger. and how she felt different after awhile. The guy in the song was in the band Choris Romance. he is still alive and well last i knew.. lol
pats cousin gave me a passerby sticker in like 2002 in high school...i so never thought that one day passerby would make it as big as it did...keep on rockin...support your friends bands...you never know who will make it big...support your local music scene...Texas Rocks
this song reminds me of last winter when I was going through some pretty crappy things it also reminds me of the snow and this girl....... that I no longer waste my time with
I've heard it was the record label. If you look around, you can find the original versions of Cassie and the other songs too. You wouldn't believe how much they changed.
I really like this version of the song. And I like how all the pics fit perfectly. It just shows you how far they've come and how much they've grown as people and as a band. The pic at the end shows just that.
Lovely version, never heard it before *---* it's better than the album version, for sure!!! And i noticed that she doesn't says "Jesus there in between", but yes "something's there in between".. Flyleaf ♥
Flyleaf reminds me that there are so many important things in life that I've never focused on before. I'm glad I found them. Or...they found me. Whatever. I'm just glad I have thier music to turn to.
the male vocal harmonies really made this song stick with me. it's like a story of two people who have gone through something, and the way the male vocals support hers in the most powerful parts of the songs lyrically and musically, it adds to the story
This song...helped me get through so much... I was in love and in pain... This song erased it all. Now I met someone who is worth my time, who actually notices me...ya know? Anyway, Flyleaf/Passerby please never ever die
Wow. I love this version. Lacey's voice is more powerful WITHOUT the screaming, in my opinion... plus she keeps killing her voice with the rough way she uses it D= Thanks for all the awesome flyleaf vids. ^^
I freaking miss Lacey! The woman they got to replace her sucks! Lacey's voice was angelic and she had such an amazing energy and look! I'm glad she's happy being a wife and mom, but the rest of us are a little sadder without her singing in our lives. At least that's how I feel.
I am a complete naturalist and anti-religion yet I've been listening to Flyleaf since I was in 7th grade which was... 05-06 and there music makes me feel like I almost believe in god I fucking love this band so much and the fact that they started out as Passerby
all my favorite songs make fall asleep...and I thought that maybe I was the only one that felt something like that... It's so good to know that you feel the same... well... Nice to meet you sKittlEVINe
I love the "Passerby Version" of this song best. Lacey's vocals are soooo much better which makes song sounds more romatic, if you will. I do wish it had the "chorus romace..." part, though, but it's still kool : )
Judging from the millions of views - you're right. I just got turned onto them I love metal - and they get mocked for being religious. I had no idea they had such a huge following
This version might be just as good, if not better than the album version. Please Flyleaf. Let us know what's up. Are you broke up, on brake, what's going on?!
Tp people who are like what's Passerby? Passerby is what Flyleaf was going to be thier name but another band trademarked it before they could. So They cahgned thier name to Flyleaf, which is the blank page at the begining of a book. Lacey ays it's for new starts, since she had a rough chilhood and struggled with drug addiction.
@TheMax279 it does have all of that in it, everytime I listen to it, I feel the same way of it. It talks about how you can start over with your life when you've done some things you have regretted in the past. How you can change it for the better :)
There are three actually. This one and the album version (4:50). Then there's a 5:04 one as well, it's nearly identical but skips the parts at 3:48 - 3:56 and the whole piano from 4:04 - 4:25. I like this longer one better though for the little bass solo from 4:21 - 4:30 the softer vocals and "the times were right...but I" instead of "weren't...and I" on the album version.
