Hi just FYI they have removed the giant's insta kill ability when you're on their shoulders. Seems they also improved camera movement a bit. They are quite willing to listen to the player base and therefore patch their game a few times these last days already. Cordially.

The artstyle for sure the gameplay absolutely not they had no experience in gameplay development and it shows ALOT even after 4 months it's still very bad but good looking

I played 20 hours of Black Faith and i must say the world is the true protagonist... is just amazing. Explore and lost yourself is legit... its scary and wonderful. The omnistructure... omg im in love with that twisted and forgoten labyrinth

The world sucks I could never find an actual starting area so I used cheat engine to 1 shot all the bosses and just ran thru it to get it done terrible world design for sure but the artstyle is amazing.

They released a huge patch last night that fixed a ton of issues and capped the game at 90FPS but recommended playing at 60FPS anything above 90 can get wonky but I'm enjoying it on 60. They fixed the 180 degrees movement & a ton of bugs. Also controllers now work perfectly. Check out the patch notes...

@@ruikiri Patch Notes: Our current priority is making character movement easier to handle as well as controller support and bug fixing some of the bigger issues. We will be doing a series of hotfixes over the course of the next few days, and then slowly transition into a weekly patch schedule. Changes: -Locked FPS to 90FPS maximum, 60 FPS default (and recommended). -Controllers default binding after reading feedback. (If you can't properly reset to default setting, try deleting C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Forsaken\Saved\SaveGames\Settings\Gamepad.sav) -Giants no longer deal 100% of players health, instead deal set damage, which can be further mitigated by your armor. -Removed start animations from unarmed movement to reduce impulse on initial movement. -Redesigned the climbing section in the Monastery as it was causing issues. -Improved readability of some areas in the Monastery with slight changes to map layout. -Other smaller changes. Fixes: -Fixed enemies spawning inside of props. -New game accepting "None" as autosave name causing issue with saving and loading. -Players being able to aggro boss outside of his arena. -Torch being displayed as weapon. -Tips panel in settings displaying wrong tip for certain keybinds. @everyone Patch Notes: Changes: -Controllers movement analogs are no longer as sensitive. Player can move at any degree diagonally now from previous lock to 0, 45 and 90 degrees. -Removed 180 degree animation turns that caused loss of character control, now making movement more smooth. -Increased base chance of Illusions from 5% to 7.5% for One-handed Weapons, 15% for Two-handed Weapons, 20% for Greatweapons. -Removed numbers from perk names causing misunderstanding player is able to pick all 3 upgrades. -Left handed weapons no longer count as "Offhand" but are now "Mainhand". -Redone Perk Icons. Fixes: -Grammar fixes in tutorial and expanded tutorial to explain extraction of essences from Anomalous Crystals. -Belt slots no longer refill to a dead character causing you to lose some potions. -Mini bosses no longer will follow player after players death. -Removing Homunculus Mirage and respawning at previous Homunculus now properly grant you Homunculus Mirage. -Illusions will now properly spawn with weapons in their left hand. -No longer possible to use some inputs while player is dead. -Removed small trigger in center of Nurgei Arena that caused players to die instantly.

honestly i hope they tighten up the combat, that is really my biggest problem with the game but its also not huge considering its not really that challenging which is alright but they really did a fantastic job with the game world! the enviroments are mesmerizing

@@ruikiri yeah, man. Combat among a lot of other things has problems. I could make an enormous list of things they should fix or change or improve. But being that it's a team of 3 people, this game is really fun. I hope they find this release succesful enough so they can keep making games, and geting better at it in the process. They got my full support

I find shields to be very consistent in helping you avoid damage in this game. You can try parrying too and its pretty easy to pull of but its a bit inconsistent for me.

@@Nova-rg6vv not very easy when you're outnumbered and range attacks are kinda annoying to dodge at close range. Dual swords are busted in the game, they just shred mobs like paper. I'm running a lifesteal build with full heavy armor alternating between ds and a heavy hitting weapon so I can just face tank almost everything in the game

I'm sorry, I don't usually comment on vids a whole lot, but I have to pint this out there. That second enemy on the video, the one with the dagger and greatsword, that is literally an abyss watcher. The model is different, but look at the moveset. Some of them are different, but I kid you not, most of this guys moves are just abyss watcher attacks.

Actually i noticed the boss also did a jump move that looks a lot like Vykes from elden ring! Im not accusing anyone of anything maybe they recreated the animation themselves because they thought it looked sick, but it is interesting xb

@@ruikiri nah, they bought animation sets from epic and tweaked them. Alot of the souls game animations were also made with outsourced work from animators as well.

After I binded all my keys on ds4 windows and used ps4 controller got settings where I wanted them made me really enjoy this game a lot more and after you put a few hours in is when things are much more easier to do! Great video!

Were you able to map stuff like the weapon abilities? Because in the gamepad keybinds menu they dont show :/ i think the native controller support for the game literally doesnt have a way for you to use them..

I like the concept of the game, and I enjoy exploring the dystopian world, but that's about it. My main gripe would be that it's suuuper slow getting around when the world is so big. For example, one of the many long ass ladders.

The world design/atmosphere is amazing. But apart from that this game sucks. The combat/controls feel so shit and unresponsive. I don't know how the Devs thought this game was ready to be released in this state. Yeah the game runs well, and looks great but yeah the combat... Oh my god it's just so bad D:

@Nova it's not a matter of getting good.. I have no desire to get good in a game where combat feels this bad. Have you played Dark Souls? When you press attack, or dodge it actually does that, and it feels good. combat needs to be responsive in these kind of games. The dodge feels like it only works half the time when I press it, same with the attacks.. it needed another 6-12 months in development

@Nova okay well I'm glad you're enjoying it man. I think my standards for combat are just too high these days after playing games like Nioh and stuff. But maybe I'll give Bleak Faith another try down the road, because I do agree the environments and atmosphere are absolutely beautiful :)

@@unscathedpotato I wholeheartedly agree, The art style, world design atmosphere and music are all great. Pity that the game overall is a big miss for me. I have been following the devs since 2020 and was really excited about it. I bought it for myself as a birthday present and was ready to do a full day of gaming today as its Sunday. To my dismay after 1.5-ish hours, the game just is not what it looked like in the preview gameplay/trailer and c4g's review earlier this week. REFUNDED. The game's combat and movement and feel of every action you take is so floaty and badly telegraphed. This is coming from a guy who has 1k+ hours in Outward another indie RPG survival game with its share of clunkyness and jankyness and Hellpoint yet another indie title with its share of "floatyness". BF at its current state is just not good. The combat is not about getting good at it or "used to it" The combat system apart from the combo system - which is not hard to pull off IMO is pretty common for this kind of game but it does not feel consistent, attacks pass through enemies or me, blocking/parrying is unresponsive at times, rolling is double tap the dodge button? Heavy attack is 2 buttons? No I-frames - thats a neat idea, which definitely worked in games like Kingdoms of Amalur for example, but for it to work the hitboxes need to be impeccable - which sadly they are not in BF, as of now. Also, who thought its gonna be a good idea not to be able to spring while locked on? Seriously? I mean they tried to switch around a few things and re-invent some mechanics but as it is at the moment its more Miss than Hit. I really hope they patch the hell out of this game and actually make it playable because the world art design, style, ambiance, OST, atmosphere are amazing.

There’s a lot of copium kickstarter donators and paid promoters trying to convince people that all of their senses are deceiving them and this game is a gem. 😂 Wtf is “Nova” even saying here, btw?! Ffs, dark souls 1 had *AMAZING* combat straight out of the gate! Dark Souls combat is _EXACTLY_ what drew so many people to the game, and got them to stick around even if it was hard! Because every time we died, _WE KNEW IT WAS FAIR - THAT WE WERE THE ONES AT FAULT AND NOT THE GAME._ These folks will say anything to try to convince others that this disastrous game is worth spending money on, when it fact, it’s an insult to customers’ intelligence and wallets to release a game that is in such terrible condition. It’s unethical business practice to sell a game as a *finished product* to continue doing the testing for them! This should still be in alpha or beta testing - early release at the _VERY MOST._
