She and Roy sang this as a duet This was a tribute to Roy after his death. Love how she looked up and thanked Roy. After Leonard Cohen heard her sing Hallelujah he said that it was her song now. She sang it at the Olympics

K.D Lang has one of the best voices in music. Her live version of Crying is absolutely beautiful. Most people don't know that Lang sang a duet with Orbison in the 80s for a movie soundtrack called Hiding out.

She's done that to all of us my friend!! Roy would of been proud

My intro to KD was her "Absolute Torch and Twang" album, which is still fantastic. She had one of the best country music voices ever. Roy was a huge influence for her.

That was her good buy to Roy, they were very close and respected each other very much.

The duet with Roy of this is great but this really shows her immense talent ... Her Olympic performance of Hallelujah is life changing !!!!!!!! leonard Cohen said after hearing KD sing it that it was her's now........ Probably the best female vocalist of the last 35 years.

I showed this video to my daughter about a year ago. She was 17 at the time, and just starting to appreciate the music that I loved when I was her age. At the end of the very first verse, she looked at me and said, "Wow!" I just laughed and said, "Oh, it hasn't even STARTED yet!" k.d. lang has a voice of amazing range and dexterity. He quiet notes can be mere whispers, but her belt will blow the windows out. SO brilliant.

Ms. Lang has been a fave since her early torch and twang days and this rendition of Crying always covers me in goose bumps.

I remember being at one of her shows in the 90’s and just weeping when she sang this. One of the saddest love songs ever.

Glad you liked it. k d Lang's solo version is great live. Got to see her perform it in concert and her voice felt like she was honoring Roy. She started off in Alt Country then moved into Country then continued into Standards and Pop. Juno's, Grammys her mantle has them along with Lifetime Achievements. She can sing anything she wants to. She has closed the Calgary Winter Olympics and opened the Vancouver Summer Olympics, both are MUST sees. She closed the Olympics and cleared the athletes section. When she performed she was early in her career, still doing her Alternative Country phase.

She's a huge fan of roys. In fact- they did this song together, and she was one of the backup singers on his A Black and White Night concert- which is also worth checking out. Can't go wrong with anything she sings- but of course Roy is the best.
