I have died in this thing more by wing ripping than actually getting shot down.

Meanwhile the French one without flares or RWR and only two missiles is still 10.3

I feel this aircraft really became great when they introduced battle ratings 11.3 and especially 12.0. I struggled with this one while relatively new since often getting caught up in top tier, but since decompression is is mostly top dog. I think it is also perfect for killing those annoying SU-25s. The AIM-9D is just good enough to fly high, dive down and launch at a Su-25s and others at long enough range for them to not see you...

I remember playing this as my main jet before the AIM-9D nerf, now i switched over to the Tomcat and still won't go over 10g's if i don't have to

I love the thing. I think the wing rip is kinda silly with how easy it happens. However if you hold your airspeed at around 1,000km you can pop air brakes and drop to 850 and you can be relatively immune to wing rip and you will always out turn just about everything. Also I love the aim 9d but I think we can all agree the r60s at the same br are definitely worse for the game balance. The aim 9d has more range but it does take some skill to use where as the r60s are basically guaranteed kills on all the planes without flares from anything approaching rear aspect under 3 kms

Both Crusaders have slats on leading edges, you need to drop flaps to Combat to use them. Flaps also solve issue of wing rips, though you need to be below 900kmh or so ias to deploy them. That said, F8U is a blast to play now, dodging all the F4S gamers.

The F8U-2 Crusader is my favorite fighter plane of all time in WT. I learned that at above 2,000 m you can pull harder without breaking your wings! And with the amount of burn time on the AIM-9D you can get long range kills of up to almost 6km if the enemy isn’t paying attention! I’m almost at 900 air kills with this plane to an average of 550 deaths. So I think that’s a pretty fair outcome lol

its was 10.3 right? im always get into 10.7 then playing 9.7-10.0 planes but dont see this one a lot in battles...

I think it's rather balanced all things considered. Su 25 was 9.7 for almost a year, I have absolutely no problem smacking dumb Russians with this plane now. And it's not like you can't use some skill if you're in a mig21 or mirage to deal with this, so I say its balanced. Now if the fi3 were to be 10.0, that'd be a lil crazy, cause quite a few 9.0 - 9.3 planes don't get rwr. Great video btw!

I think what is sad is the amount of planes at rank 10 and above in the american tree that have AIM9B. They can't even give the F-111A a fair AAM at it's rank and it gets kicked up to 11.3 often.

i dont know why would you play anything else other then F-5E rn, 80% of matches are 9,7/10,0 downtiers and it is pure A-10, A-6E and inexperienced F-5C farm (i have the chineese one)

Try the su-17 and su-22’s! So much better below 11.0 now.

From a flight simmer perspective it makes me cringe so much every time this guy call his wings "fragile" because they break at 15gs lolll. My man, I guaranty if you take this amount of sustained gs your body would break down way before the jet...
