Radar Missiles at a Stupid Low BR | Vautour IIN War Thunder 

this is one BR jump away from facing spitfires with radar missiles

They’ve changed the engines on it like a day ago, if it’s stabilator will get corrected it might become actually fun at 8.3

Animal fact: they say 12g on the statcard, but they can actually pull as much as 15g

I love mid-tier tech, it was such an era of experimentation and just plane goofy stuff. Beam riding missiles ftw !

They just gave it the Vautour IIB engines so now it has even better performance

Ok figured out how to use the radar guided missiles, have the radar on 8 or 20 km, be at a side angle to target at about 3-5km to shoot. Attacking from front or back and missiles get notched really easily. Also always attack from below as the radar is quite weak to ground coverage.

The grind to get those missiles is.... quite something

Just spaded it, It's honestly quite fun. AA-20s are fun to guide, and the radar missiles work like 10% of the time but you are faster than pretty much anything at your br. Uptiers are brutal, however.

When I played that thing and wanted to spade it I think it was one of the most stupid idea I had, but god oh god... getting kills with that thing against cocky players that think you are just a bomber is... *chef kiss* just perfect. Haven't tried to play it again since BR changes tho.

I know it’s been like 10 months but I just got this jet and I managed to get a full downtier in this thing and face 3 b29s flying in formation! Glory when you get those games and yeah it is a very unique jet that plays very differently. Nice change of pace around. Loving the French grind so far!

the LA-200 will still outrun everything on the map where 8.3 is the top end. but these missiles can really level the playing field vs most others. one thing not mentioned is these are ALL ASPECT missiles. first time I ran into them (literally in 2 ways) was in a slower merge. I was in a gradual climb and saw the missile, not enough speed for a roll out by the time I registered the missile was coming at me. that's another thing, using these missiles, if you get someone slowed down, either climbing out of a fight or in a dogfight or about 2km head on and bank off. these are golden, just having missiles and locks are one thing, knowing when your foe will not likely be able to avoid is when you use them. I've come to the saying "if it's nose up, it blows up"

Im sad that this got moved to 8.3 but the second Me-163 is still at 8.7

The elevator is still bugged and it is still unplayable despite the br changes...

I have had probably more downtiers then uptiers, have half spaded currently, several 5 kill games too. Just unlocked the radar guide missiles see how they compare to nords which i was just using to joust.

I'm more amazed that you're able to lock targets with the ground behind them, or targets below you, consistently. If there isn't 100% clear sky behind the target, and if they are not showing their widest aspect, then I'm not locking anything.

The stock-grind is absolutely terrible though

Just like the Rank V Isreali bomber that gets 4 IR missiles... It's a bomber.. It can't even maneuver to fire rockets at ground targets, you aint hittin a fighter with an IR missile from a bomber.
