I looked up the definition and found out an Auxiliary nurse is basically a CNA. I am from the states and was wondering what the term meant. So for everyone from the states they're basically CNA's. Watching this is awesome. I have done lots of these duties as a cna. I am also a psych tech. I had to laugh because it's just pain funny sometimes. These celebs live my life for 3 weeks.
It takes a real special kind of a person to become a quality care nurse. Not matter what the circumstances are. Always provide the best observation then the solution of care so that your patient is happy and you are happy.
Not sure she is. Getting to emotionally involved/emotional over every person she deals with will result in a burnout before too long. She would need to learn how to switch off and do the job.
great series with in depth to nhs nurses, and 100% they should be paid a hell of a lot more. true what gail porter said about footballers, getting paid millions its about time nurses got a big pay rise ,for all there dedicated work they do. next series they should get that bastard Cameron who I despise and other politicians to take part then they would realise what nurses have to do
Lovely show, good to see the different side of the world in nursing. Interesting that the auxiliary nurses(CNAs as posted below) they do so much! Wonderful.
Honestly, I am a nurse and I have days where I doubt I’m fit to be one. But I also have days where I am damn proud of what I do. And days where I can’t quite Leslie ever how good a job I have.
All Nurses & Midwives are the glue that holds the NHS together they’re all amazing we need Nursing Bursaries Back so we can train more as we have a shortage all over the NHS, and RN’s / Trained Nurses should be paid much much more they are so overworked and undervalued IMHO. My local DN’s (District Nurses) are all very nice and most are very caring 👍🏼♥️
Sean, you washing your hands for surgery in the 2nd episode had me both laughing and feeling terrible for you. You were really great with all the kids.
James has a decreased level of consciousness due to alcohol poisoning and he’s vomiting, stay with him and reposition to protect his airway. Do not leave him alone. But yeah I get it.
Janet’s training “they might have a dislocated shoulder but they will be alive” ummmmm no that’s called malpractice! It causes brachial plexus palsy and is totally avoidable!
James's position = ucomfortable and downright dangerous. But other than that, I loved watching this show. The part where Gail compares the football players vs nurses wages was also spot on.
Very true - with that amount of alcohol & vomiting he certainly would have needed fluids to combat the dehydration and the recovery position would have been common sense really - too simple to choke in the position he was in (although sometimes difficult to get someone drunk to stay in the recovery position), and with a complication that could have worsened very quickly.
He seemed stable and comfortable at that point. It's not like he would be left unattended for hours on end. He was brought in because he fell off his bike. Ambos might have thought that was causing his behaviour, not knowing he had drunk 6 litres of cider. No one mentions a serious head injury and given his age it is more likely a precautionary measure, since he is technically a child. As to becoming dehydrated - lol. Does anyone really think he will die from dehydration in A&E? Since this wasn't the first time he has done this, maybe he has graduated to hard drugs by now.
omg you put the sterile gloves on so bad that in the end there was no point in putting them on at all as you touched all the part that was meant to be sterile resulting in cross contamination :| Never do this for a dressing, good god haha
I love how they force children upon a woman that dares to dislike children like they could have given her so many other things to do but no they trey to forcefully give her this fucking therapy to love children and show affection. This is utter bullshit and I feel sorry for her. I would have quit.
She would have complained wherever she was put. You don't need to "love" children to do the job properly - just an understanding that the patient comes first. I doubt they would have forced her to do anything she really didn't want to do. How anyone could feel sorry for Janet is beyond me. The point of this show is to use celebrities as a hook to get people to find out more what nursing is with about.
