Dan, you keep producing stunning videos. This one - and all of the 'soaring' series - are just the thing to watch as a break from the usual rough and tumble YT content. Thank you!
Thanks so much Lou it really does mean a lot that you're watching and enjoying! I'm not sure how often I'll be able to do them but I don't plan to quit. I have a few others on the list to be edited soon.
Simply put - Stunning and mesmerizing!! What a perfect time to catch. But that is your skill set quality. Like someone else said, one of the best Soaring the Rails Episodes you have made!! And people actually get paid to run this section, unbelievable!! Thank You.
The lights are indeed amazing here. Mt. Shasta is even more impressive from the ground than from the air. Really majestic mountain. Looks like this is a remote area and there are no distractions. Everything is quiet and peaceful. I'm sure crews loves to work on this route. Wonderful aerial footage Dan and I like the ending a lot. You have a neat SUV.
Thank you Z! You could easily camp right there next to the tracks where I was and you wouldn't be disturbed by anything but the trains. I have had that Jeep for about a year and a half now and it has already taken me to places I wouldn't have been able to make it in my previous Nissan including the spot in this video.
It's as if I'm operating the train and I get to enjoy this scenery while on the job. Now if I could just get paid to watch this from the comfort of my own home as I "pretend" to be the conductor or engineer 😊
When you first asked the question about doing the soaring the rails videos, I figured do what you want. The way you were able to go for so long without making several cuts was great to just enjoy the scenery. I don't know what you can do to improve on this type of video, but I am sure you will find a way to continually amaze us with your talent. The choice of music accompanying the video was nearly perfect. Keep this type of video coming.
Railways are so unique in the way they fit into the landscape rather than dominating it like freeways & highways, especially in the times between trains like Dan has captured here so well.
I don't know why but, there was something a little more melancholy in this "Soar"...maybe it was the time of day or the music, or both, but I know it was over all too soon! Loved it...Great video...Thank you!
Thanks Rich! Well these days the range of drones are just insane. The Mavic 3 Pro that I use most of the time I once watched a guy on a video here fly it 5 miles away and back! Incredible.
