A RU-vidr called Redman's and ask them the difference in their Table salt and their Livestock salt .She said she was told the only difference was the grind and many people commented they had been using the livestock grind for pickling and preserving for years . Their Livestock grind can be had for as little as $1 a lb.
👍Homesteading Family channel says the use the livestock version for all their fermenting and cooking for the same reason...cheaper but the same product!
I love and use all 3 of these. Only in the last 2 years had I heard about Baja Gold, and I'll admit the price was a put-off. But once I tasted it, it's just incredible. Thanks for doing this!!
I've been using Redmond Real Salt for 30 years. Not only is it the most delicious salt in the world (from the ancient, pre-pollution, pre-Jurrasic era) it's also 100% American. We love the Utah workers who supply it. 👍⬆♥ Support American workers and an American small business. ⬅

If you want to try an old Italian recipe. Try fried squash /zuccini or summer/ blossoms . beat an egg with seasoning and parmesan cheese., dip the flowers into the egg mixture and fry for a nice treat
Gotta agree after my research too you are right on point. Love Baja plus they are an awesome company to deal with. Very nice family owned business spoke to the owner just the other day ! Such a nice guy!! Had a great conversation about health etc. I do extended water fasts 4-7 days once a month . Since changing to Baja helped me feel better throughout the long fast. I still use the other 2 she mentioned depends on what I’m eating or cooking as they are all delicious. Baja has def a sweeter taste my favorite of all but a more $$ but worth it in my opinion
Well, my favorite is "Redmond Real Salt"... First of all, because the taste... It is invincible! Secondly, Baja Gold is way too moisturized, therefore it is almost impossible to use it by saltshaker... Finally, despite all kinds of tests, I am NOT sure that Baja Gold salt really does not contain any microplastics or any other impurities. The seas nowadays are so polluted with such things that I find it impossible not to have them in that product. This type of contamination has already been detected in the South Pole ice fields... Of course it is there in that bay too! My concern about Himalayan salt is simply that it goes through too many hands before it reaches the consumer, and it's not even "made in the USA", who knows what they put in it EVEN IF THEY SAY THEY DON'T PUT ANYTHING IN IT... After all, hunger for profit is great! So I think Redmond salt is the best choice. Although I would be happy if the magnesium content were higher. But at least it's the cheapest...
@@carnivorecaveman nope. Redmonds has heavy metals counts higher than many other competitors. I’ve listed a chart on this thread in another post. Redmonds Real in now way is the leader in clean salt. It also has significantly less minerals than Frezzor, for example

Been using Redmond for over a decade but just recently found out about Baja Gold. It’s the best tasting salt I’ve ever had and probably won’t use anything else now.
Thank you for your video. Heavy metals (lead, arsenic, cadmium, aluminum) are quite high in most salt, including the 3 you reviewed. Would love to see an updated video including this information.

I love Baja salt the most. I learned about and tried it at Hack Your Health 2024 in Austin. I’m in Canada, so it’s difficult to get at the moment but I managed to get a nice care package from Baja Gold. Fantastic products. Love it.
I just bought 25 lbs of Baja from their website for $90 shipped ( $3.60/Lb). Love that it has a lower NACL content and I love the taste. Never knew about Remond. I will give it a try. Thanks for the video.

Redmonds wins due to cost Plus it does taste great And Himalayan is very sketchy as to quality, most isn’t even what it says. It’s just a pink salt, or even colored pink.

@@danlbu Are the metals bound or unbound? Important safety distinction. Redmond's also makes a food-grade mud toothpaste which the label states has lead in it (required labeling for Kalifornication, er California.) I asked them about this and they stated that it's bound lead, like most ORGANIC vegetables have and so is harmless in that state.

Thank you for the heads up on the additives to the Pink Himalayan salt. I stopped using salt with anti-caking agents well over a decade ago. They are 'aluminium' based. (Definitely not healthy.) Pink Himalayan is the purest natural salt I can get where I live. I don't use a lot of salt but I make sure it's the nicest, healthiest I can get. The only pure sodium chloride I can get is in rock form now. I use it unground with white vinegar for boiling crustaceans. If this is the same for you, be mindful of the salt grinder you use. I like my morter and pestle. Whole rice grains are my anti-caking agent. Hope this helps. Universal Sovereign Citizen
But is the pink salt you get real or the fake, colored stuff? Unless you walk up to the wall and bust off a chunk yourself, don't be too sure. Just saying. 👍

You didn't convince me. I'll stick with my cheap grocery store salt. BTW, the Colorado River dumps into the Sea of Cortez and many cities dump their purified sewage into it.
I’ve been in driving up and down Baja for decades, and the only salt flats I’ve seen are near the Pacific Ocean, not the Sea of Cortez. That said, I eat Redmonds real salt because I believe all ocean salt is contaminated with plastics.

Being a European, I use Celtic salt (as some others do, when I read through the comments). I've discovered it last year (by accident!, because it was in a lot I won at an auction) and it is a very tasty salt. The brandname is De Guérande.
@@KrisVComm From where did you get your wisdom? AFAIK, Le Guérande contains a very small amount of microplastics. And if you are so concerned about our health, maybe stop breathing, because the air is filled with pollution too! 😉

I use celtic salt because it fully dissolves in hot water (unlike Himalayan), has very low % of microplastics. It's a bit moist though, but I got used to it.
@@YeshuaKingMessiah But the question remains, is that "Pink Himalayan" actually real. Or is it one of the fake salts that's just dyed pink? Or was it authentic but processed and packaged in some absolutely filthy and toxic factory in India or China? Not a good assumption at all regarding safety. Not that I'm gonna reach confidently for any modern sea salt either, regardless of it's geographical romance. Just saying.🙂👍

Thankyou. I always like watching your videos. Precise , informative and easy to follow. We use himalayan salt and windsor salt. Never heard of Redmonds or Baja here. Would you have an electrolyte recipe or video ?
I use SEA-90 salt sold as an agricultural salt. It is produced by SeaAgri, the company that produces Baja Gold. SEA-90 is not certified for human consumption by government for human consumption but nothing lives in salt. My family has been using it for over 10 years. For those who order from Azure Standard, It comes in a 25 lb. bag for $9.99. I keep it in a glass container to maintain the moisture. I keep the big bag in a plastic bag to retain moisture as volitile gases naturally in it can evaporate if the salt dries out. "Sea-90 Ocean Minerals Premium Mineral Salt". I also use it in my garden as described on the SeaAgri website to increase sweetness of vegetables and fruit.
Will try the Baja Gold based on your insight. We bought bulk Redmond's, about 100# so we never again need to make an emergency run for canning or fermenting.

Element profile from Celtic Sea Salt shows 5 trace elements ending in ium which is usually radioactive. This plus micro plastics is reason I avoid sea salt. Why was Celtic sea salt left off comparison? In my opinion it should be common knowledge that comparing content of sea salt versus ancient salts shows how people have polluted our oceans.

Any chance you have a video on brine in the works? I'd love info and your advice on making brine and the salt percentage by weight ( cups and spoons are for consuming food, not eating it! LOL!)
