Great demo video on your Trex deck cleaning process, I normally pretreat the trex with the X-Jet pulling a stronger solution before softwashing it but I have used pump up sprayers also.
Awesome vid man. Starting pressure washing business myself, all I seem to find on RU-vid is straight pressure washing without a use of chemicals when it comes to fence/deck. Very helpful video thanks a bunch!
Based on the color of his product and the reaction it had on the growth of the deck, his “special mixture” is bleach, water, and soap. Probably dawns dish soap or laundry detergent. But mostly beach which the pressure wash community calls “sodium hypochlorite” or “SH”. Strongest you can buy in stores is “pools essentials” and it’s about 12.5 % bleach while outdoor bleach is about 8- 10% and household bleach is 3-6%. Use about half pools essentials, half water, and a tiny bit of soap, not much is needed. Your goal is about 2-4% bleach or “SH” in your mix. Your welcome.
Hey thank you for your comments. My solution is no secret🙂 I have already had multiple conversations from this video to help others get their decks cleaned up. Give me a call or email. I will say we only use commercial soaps, not Dawn.
@@ExpertPowerWash Trex actually recommends SH whenever a possibility of mold is present. Great Job, looks nice. Even some recommended cleaners are chlorine based. s7d4.scene7.com/is/content/Trex/trex-mold-technical-bulletinpdf.pdf
have you tried using vinegar and water then sprinkling baking soda on after and using a brush? i saw a video like that. if possible i'd like to use something natural as i have plants and animals all around my deck. great video
The cleaner is biodegradable. It’s the salt in the cleaner that could kill plants. Water them really good and avoid overspray. That should do the trick. Always open to other solutions as well.
Bleach won't harm your plants. As long as you wet everything down. Once the hypochlorite evaporates off. Your just left with salt. The vinegar will hurt the moss and alge about as much as positive thoughts.
Thank you for the video…. I have Brazil wood… or IPE wood….. a large deck, that I may replace. I am discouraged by the moss that grows in the grooves between the boards….. it is a 1/8 to 1/4 groove where the clips go in, not a flush board. The moss is hard to get out of that groove… and I have power washed myself to death….. any ideas? We live in Troutdale… you are a not that far away…. Thank you for answering all the questions:) I have used Simple Green, 60 second…. And sprayand forget…. I tried pray and forget, but that was not very successful. :) Thank you!
Hey I own a pressure washing business in MD. I’ve been struggling for years on cleaning Trex to the point it looks like this. Can I ask what’s your SH mix? I’ve tried up to 1.5% with no luck.
Hey deck came out very nice. Do you think the 30 second cleaner could be used on a trex deck? I would be using my pressure washer down streamer so it would be coming out about 1/10 mixture. Thanks in advance.
Great video awesome before and after pictures. Thank you for posting. Just getting started soft washing.. (g.l. insurance starts after the first.) Very excited.
I actually don’t do a lot of regular wood decks. That’s a tough one without removing stain. You could always Soft Wash. I would recommend Everett Abrams. He is the Wizard of Wood. He has a channel here somewhere. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I’d rinse it out with a garden hose. You could also use a pressure washer at light to medium pressure. If the dust has harden, I’m not really sure what would work. I appreciate the comments and watching the video.
The pump up sprayers that I use are the Chaplin 2 gallon pump ups. These are commonly sold at Lowe’s, Home Depot, and Walmart. They run about $30. I finely threw away one that I had for 3 years.
@@ExpertPowerWash i used them all summer if you don't clean them out after every single use the basically crap out after a week lol good looking out thanks
Wazim, thanks for watching and commenting. I use anywhere between a house wash mix to a little stronger. Always start with less and work your way up. I think this one was around 3% mix to clean.
Hector Garcia, hey thanks for watching and commenting. There are so many factors that go into pricing. That deck start to finish took me a couple hrs. Need to figure out what you feel you are worth with accounting for overhead including taxes, time, and materials. Also markets are different depending on where you are. My prices also change with many different factors. Contact me through email or my number and we can discuss pricing. Again thank you for taking the time to watch my video.
Hector Garcia, go to ExpertPowerWash.com and contact me through the website or business number. If you call me, make sure it’s in the evening. Busy most days. We do church on some of the evenings. I’d be happy to help. This industry should be about contractors helping each other. I know a lot who have helped me. Together we can make it better.
Thanks for watching. I’ve discussed this process a few times in the comments. Short answer- around 3% Take a look through. If you still have questions, I’d be happy to help.
