I just got the SOG trident AT and holy crap. It’s a big knife which I love since I have massive hands. The design is sleek and really appealing with the army green. Great snappy action, smooth closing. Shaving sharp and an over all great knife. SOG has really upped their game and I love the way this knife looks and feels. Reminds me of benchmade when they were still putting effort in their designs

I just bought this Aegis AT for my EDC. SOG has stepped up beyond belief. They have the coolest and most stylish knives now! I can't wait, i know the aegis is gonna be great. I recommend going to their website and looking through their whole product range!

I have owned the original aegis for 8 years and nearly carried it everyday. I have had no failures with it. It's the best slicer of a knife I've ever owned. It has opened in my pocket 4 times over 8 years but i always remember to use the safety now, so the more resistance it has to opening now is a blessing because you don't need to worry about the safety being on

well done, subscribed. recently bought two original tridents and one aegis--and one was easy to open and two were very stiff and gritty toward the final part of closure. some vaseline on the visible blade when closed that is a bearing surface helps. the one that opens easily has a lot more side to side play. could not find my torx set to adjust the pivot. sogs work best when there is some slop, and tho it does not bother me, i can see it bothering others. just ordered the new trident AT and the trident elite-an older model.. never had a problem with aus8--blade geometry is what i look for.

Are you sure that sound you are hearing as the blade closes isn't the lock spring compressing?

What I don't like is the screws in the clip and difficulty keeping it sharp. That could be my technique, but I have no problem with other knives of this sort. It required a lot of oil and break in. But now it deploys well. PS. Forget about one hand closing safely.

If they would have made this lighter like the previous generation of the Aegis I would be all in. Love the looks, the D2. But over 5 ounces, yikes. Heavier than even my smartphone. Clip doesn't work with standard jeans. Good video, subscribed

My only complaint about this knife is I would like a bigger blade. Not sure how durable the non-metal thumb stud is for long term use.

I think SOG is going in the right direction, but I would like to see them squeeze more blade length in the knife. You have a 5 inch handle with a 3 inch blade. For this reason I think I will go with the new Flash.

Really good review. looks decent and probably cuts well, but $ 80-90 for D2 blade and polymer handle? Better values can be found for Taiwanese and Chinese made D2 blades.

I bought the Flash AT and it was very hard to open and I ended up sending it back. So I know what you mean.

I've had the knife for a few months and it's now really easy to open, but it was annoying for the first week or so.

That sound.... maybe it needs grease in the torsion bar? This is the first SOG that has caught my eye. I rather dig the colors and styling. Thanks for the review 🔪👍🗡

It does look cool and it's super sturdy. I just tried a drop of Blue Lube and it made it easier to deploy, but the friction and sound has not changed. Hmmm....

It works better with the lube and so I'll leave it for now - won't disassemble it and everything appears as it should. I checked out another video and I'm pretty sure I heard the same friction when the guy closed it. I think that's part of the engineering (just my thought!).

SOG's strength has always been: 1. Classic combat fixed blades 2. Multi-tools 3. Multi-tools 4. ^ Yeah, see above! They are stepping up though!

the difficult to open thing is a deal killer for me. If I can't open knife with ease it's a no go.

I had got this knife a couple days ago from the knife center in the exclusive Orange handle. It is tough to open in the beginning but I used this knife as a fidget knife open and close open and close as a result I have a callus on my thumb but it opens way easier now it seems that needs a break in.period and you have to push on the thumbstud a certain way but now it opens with ease and I’ve only had it a few days but I’ve have At a minimum opened and closed it may be 250 times
