Wren! You should think of adding a battery pack to store excess solar power! in the event that you aren’t always using it to charge something, you’ll have a battery pack so you won’t waste any precious sun power.

The older videos were just vlogs of things they were doing and some silly side projects but the new videos are like proper episodes that need vlogs and BTS themselves It's almost like another channel is needed to separate

Chinese style cone hat gives you a better surface for solar panels, no head shadows.

yea but those are convex surfaces, not every panel will get light, not as effective. i sugest a flat or possible a concave surface. the sombrero was a good call

i'd see if you can get a battery sown in and have it take any excess power not being used for backup. that part could be tricky but you'd have a honest to god product you could sell on the market people would buy.

I think Wren should better hook those cells up with solar powerbank circuit to charge 18650 batteries instead. It'll probably help prevent insufficient current when charging more power demanding devices like phones under heavy shades or indoors.

You should have hooked the cells up to a small power bank like a 2A so, then charge your phone from the bank, so it would let you charge in shade then it would get the power back when you came into the sun again

10:56 I actually have a habit that prevents that from happening. I just reach under and grab the chair and pull it towards me. I got the habit because my friends in grad school ALWAYS pulled my chair away, so I make sure that I will sit down by doing that. Now I do it with every chair, and since then I've never fallen from a misplaced chair

Now you need to put a battery pack on it for when it isnt charging anything, then it can be used inside/at night/or when there isnt much sun.

Should use a rice paddy hat instead of sombrero, You can fit more solar panels that way because of the conical shape and probably achieve more power. Especially since you're not in the tropics so the sun isn't directly overhead, it'll always be angled in a way that it can face the sun.
