I miss the 80's and 90's cars. They were the best cars made, without the useless computerized garbage, A basic Interior with just a radio, Power Windows, Power door locks, and a Power SunRoof, was all you needed back in those days. My 97 Accord EX will soon be a classic, even though I've modded it.

My 2005 Crown Victoria still drives wonderfully, it's like sitting on a couch while tooling down the road. The V8 will accerate longer than I have the courage to hold the gas pedal down. I knew nothing about these cars until I bought mine, I thought it was a step down when I bought it, but I was ignorant, these cars are reliable, comfortable, built to last and easy to work on.

I own an 87 Crown Victoria with only 4400 miles on it - equal in condition to this one although the earlier squarer body style. The thing that always amazes me about these cars is the solid “clunk” the doors make when you close them! You can’t appreciate the sound until you hear it in person - hearing it on video doesn’t do it justice! Hopefully this beauty goes to someone who will continue the fabulous care it has received to this point!

I sure hope this beautiful Crown Victoria goes to a good home. I wish I had bought one when new. I love the Cadillac too. These older cars have a different sound when doors close vs the cars now days but younger generation don't know about these cars. Your not abusing the cars when closing doors.

Just sent my 07 to the scrapyard because cost more to fix than it was worth. But then I come across this! This is immaculate! I remember my maroon 91 LTD I had. That car, I had a crash one night, t-boned a toronado that blew a red light. I drove that car home from the tow yard, bought some parts from Everett's in Brockton and rebuilt the front end. Ended up getting a job because of my repair work! Haha I even remember as I drove home from the tow yard, my headlights were hanging off. One of the bulbs fell put and my buddy following me stopped and picked it up. It still worked when I plugged it back in! Great, strong, true car. She is flawless!

Fun Fact: When they redesign the Crown Victoria for 1992 it had no grill, just the logo on the front and because of that some people were confusing it as a 4dr Thundeebird and because of that Ford put a grill on the Crown Victoria for the 1993 model so the grilless Crown Vic's was a one year only model.

Nice example of a great car of yesterday. I personally hate new vehicles. You can not work on them yourself. Must take them to dealer or mechanic to get anything done to them. They do not last as long. They have so much plastic on them. To much technology on them. Something goes wrong with them it will cost a small fortune to fix them. People pay more for less. They are safe. That is the only good about a new vehicle. My favorite car they ever made is a factory original 1965 or 66 Chevrolet Impala. 4-door hardtop/Sport Sedan. With Air and 327-V8 engine. When I was three years old my parents bought one new. It had the factory wire spinner hub caps. It was a nice car. I have wanted one since. It is a car that you are in total control of. The car is not in control of you like the new ones are. I enjoy your videos cause you are showing older cars in great shape. Thumb up...

It stickered for just over $25k and I paid $12,400 plus T&L for a total of $14 and change.... They wanted to get rid of them with the totally new designed '92 Crown Vic's coming in.....Ha! Ha! Oh yea, the electric trunk release is in the glove compartment! Man, with that police pkg. it was unbelievably nimble and w/Citgo premium pump gas it would get 26-27 mpg during mixed driving... From a dead stop it would just light the tires up! I sold it almost 10 years later for $1k with >200k miles! Not bad for a land yacht that had an out of this world smooth ride and the most comfortable seats of any car I've ever owned! My daughter used to call it Daddy's Paw Paw car! It was one of the best cars I've ever owned... Hell presently, we've got an M packaged BMW X5 that can't hold a candle to it when it comes to the comfort and ride of that old '91 Crown Vic!

Those were the days when you could buy a real glass rectangular headlights for $5.00 and replace it yourself in 10 minutes with a Philips screwdriver. Cars still had real chrome steel bumpers and no wrap around plastics like they have on cars today. Cars back in the 80s and 90s were built to take minor bumps and scraps which is why they had bumper guards on the chrome bumpers. Today most chrome is just chrome plated plastic. Even replacing the heater core yourself in a Ford Crown Victoria was only a 2 ~3 hour job for the DIY car repairer. These were the days when cars still had electronic fuel injection systems and no computer. Back then working and maintaining your own car was a weekend hobby for most people growing up during the 70s, 80s and 90s eras.

Funny you should say that. The headlight on my '10 needs to be replaced but I'm not about to do that myself, so I have to take it to the Ford dealer and probably spend around $75-100 parts and labor, when back in the day you could do it yourself for $5-10, and about 10 minutes or less labor.

@@theoneandonly6431 Cars today are just over-engineered garbage. Aside from that cars are only made to last around 8 years. I had a 1987 Lincoln town car and that car looks so similar mine was white with blue leather interior and had smoker windows in the front that rolled down before the windows. It had 70k when I bought it but I drove the hell out of it when I was 20. The sound system in mine I think was premium 6 speaker pioneer from factory.

I had an 84 that was pretty clean. Obtained when my gpa passed.. Had like 87k miles when i sold it.. It was clean for what it was but there were some issues it had.. Ended up selling it but man it absorbed bumps like no other. All those big v8 cars ride soo smooth. Hell that 91 looked a lot more modern than my 84 haha.

The diff tag reads 3L55 88. It means it's a 8.8" crownwheel with limited slip differential and 3.55:1 gears.

Love these cars from this 80s to mid 90s era! Reminds me to the US TV series I watched as a child. Would love to own one, but not that easy living in Europe. But you have to get used to the clearence in the bodywork if you compare it to Mercedes Benz from this Era. But these cars have such a charm to me that I can forgive that.

Close to mine. 1 year in Michigan now needs paint job from spots of rust. Radio works cassette dont. Odometer went out at 87,000. Yup i cover my seats also. Always. Had to fix windows. Needed cleanin and realigning. These doors hang so you do have to slam at times. Thats just how they sound.

In 2009 I purchased a 1989 Mercury Grand Marquis with only 25,000 mi. I paid $3,500 for it. It drove better than the 80's Caprice, it felt heavier and more solid. On the highway, it was the Queen. It was ice blue with navy vinyl top and navy leather interior. Owner at that time was 95, she kept it in the garage for 15 years. The Mercury was in immaculate condition exactly like this one, it had the older steering wheel, it still had cruise control that didn't work. Unfortunately two years later I had to sell it due to the bad economy. I hope I can find one like it. I would pay $10,000 to find one. Too bad, it makes me very sad.

You have to appreciate cars like this because they do not make cars like this anymore. Very good attention to detail. I like the turbine wheels Ford /Mercury and Lincoln used. I like the cloth upholstery too. It is sad Ford and GM got away from cars like this. They said the market does not want this type of car anymore due to crossover and suv's. I like the condition of the vehicle. You do a great job with your videos. I was surprised that it did not have dual power seats. It is funny how we went from saying Ford LTD to LTD Crown Victoria to Just Crown Victoria. Someone had work done to that car. The under carriage looks great! I know I am looking for a 1995-1996 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight Regency Elite Series II. Great video.

I'm Suprised that it doesn't have the leather seat trim option available on the LX. Its a $21,000 factory original car. Didn't see pics of the passenger seat so didn't observe absence of optional power passenger seat. Most likely has automatic climate control. The closest late model current gen Ford comparable to it would be a 2019 loaded Taurus SEL or a moderately equipped Taurus Limited sedan

Beautiful car. Great video. 1 suggestion, it's good enough to eat off of on the bottom except for the light moisture rust like on the rear diff. Use Ospho that you can spray and turn it black and kill the rust. It's cheap, easy and will make a jewel like this not just awesome but Perfect!! I use this on alot of stuff for years. Best way to keep rust away. No need to clean it with tools, just spray with high proof rubbing alcohol and spray on Ospho with any spray bottle. Fine mist works better for this. It's water thin. Promise you it'll make all these great cars showstoppers. It was developed for use in the Marine industry a long time ago. So if can work well on boats sitting in Salt water, it'll do great on cars.
