Finally trying the new RS3 that Audi Switzerland have given to me for some weeks. Such an amazing all round winter driver that loves the snow. Long live the 5 cylinder!

The prices are insane. Don’t know how much in Swiss, but here in the Netherlands it’s about €2.10 per liter. Driving a Jaguar XFR myself, so I cry every week at least once🙃😂 Amazing video again Luke!

If you can really afford a car like RS6, you don't care about fuel price. Otherwise you buy Panda 1.0 diesel.

@@jannowak8951 I thought the same way for a long time. But an RS6 owner is often be able to buy one because he spends his money wisely. And if you have to spend €2.10 per liter instead of €1.70 half a year ago, it still hurts.

The 19s are perfect for the car. Any bigger and you give up ride quality and tire options become more expensive. Its a pretty small car, but with a tune you're gonna want the sidewall to flex a bit on launches. A downpipe would really open up the sound without making things drone too much.

True, maybe once it’s lowered it would look fine and I guess because they are black it makes them seem even smaller.

I really think the RS3 is a great daily driver compared to the RS6 which is huuuuge and massive but also super batman looking. Loved the intro launch control madness haha!

I think the RS6 fits nicely in the US with it being filled with CUV/SUVs and pickups. RS3 is probably a better fit for Europe roads.

Really nice intro... 🎥👍 I'm fan of RS3 - practical, compact size, unique five-cylinder drivetrain with good note 🎵 and nice performance 🚀 I think it's great blend for every petrolhead 🙂

Great review and filming. Since January I have the RS3Y with most options, incl ceramics, and as an old petrol head who had (too) many cars believe it's probably the best "jack of all trades" currently in the market. I traded in my AMG 45s for it and consider the RS3 the much better daily courtesy to its magic suspension which can do the stretch from surprisingly comfortable high speed cruiser to back/mountain road hooligan like no other car I owned or tried so far. And then there is the 5-cylinder, probably the last of its kind with nice sound and old school turbo lag which adds to the fun.

You have no idea how I've been waiting for a new video. Today is the last day of winter break before next semester kicks off at my uni and this video is a perfect way to sum the break up and kick things off so thank you for that. As for the car itself, not much to say sadly. Glad the 5 cyl is still in those but the stylistics have tanked massively over the past what? 2? 3 years? Still, great video to watch thanks to you! Hi Luke, started following your channel a couple of months ago, and loving working my way through your back catalogue! This one to the usual really high standard. Yeah, the spec on this particular RS3 not great; I do disagree about the wheel size - an M2 CS (eg) has'only' 19" boots) - 20" problematic. I question the authenticity of the interior driving sound also given Audi's record on that. Agree with your minor dislikes re exterior details. But these are minor things. The car is immense, and clearly terrific to drive on those winter roads.

@@carswithluke haha, you would be lucky if they don't charge you MORE at the moment...."discount" is so 2019 man. My suggestion is to get a B9 RS5 used, or demo (if you can find one), its not much more than the RS3, but SOOOO much better value.

The ride height and wheels are perfect for winter. When you put on the summer tires then yes, you can put bigger wheels but in the winter I wouldnt

Cheers and yeah totally agree but even if it was a bit lower it would still be fine, ideally some adjustable suspension to go lower in summer and a bit higher in winter.

Hi. Do you feel the difference driving Haldex rs3 Quattro and the original Quattro Torsen which you had on your rs6? If you watch your LC then you can clearly see how this car is a front-wheel based car, because the front wheels were first to start spinning.

It has a torque vectoring rear dif so it doesn’t matter when you can spin the rear wheels faster than the fronts in a turn and oversteer on command. Previous RS3s just had Haldex basic rear and understeered heavily.

That engine sound is perfect. I'll take this over a turbo 4 or supercharged V6 any day. Agreed 100% that for the price they could have done better differentiating the styling and making it look closer to the rs6 vs an A3 with a body kit.

You have to take a look at the video from JP Performance about bigger wheels for the RS3. He had some issues with fitting them properly so they won‘t touch the fenders. Awesome video as always✌🏼

I have a 2019 RS3 here in Canada. I have an extra set of 18" winter tires and use the stock summer 19" during the warmer months. Too bad the 2022 is not available in Canada as I would have traded my 2019 for one. I'll just keep driving the 2019 for a few more years. Great video, thanks.

Ha what a good question! For me I would go with the Audi based on the 5 cylinder, I just can’t deal with a 4 cylinder sound when paying so much. I know the a45 has amazing performance however and much to offer.

Great video! About having to wait a year.. ask your dealer if they have a „Lagerfahrzeug in Bestellung“. I signed for such an RS3 this week and it‘s scheduled for August (with my configuration).

Cheers! I did exactly that 2 weeks ago, my experience was that they still can’t confirm a date and everything is always “maybe” on top there was not one coming in the next months with a spec that won my heart.

@@carswithluke Maybe August 2022 is still better than maybe February 2023. :D Try Gautschi in Langenthal.. way better dealer than AMAG (price, service, friendlyness etc). And you still should be able to adjust the configuration (except 360deg cams which will definitely give you estimated 2023).

@@sndro1 Thanks and that's the thing, I only wanted one for the winter, for me summer is not quattro time for the mountain passes :-) but none the less happy to have one next winter still.
