Excellent review! You kept it short and hit all the features that show how well this hand spreader is designed and why it is very likely the best hand spreader in the market currently! I'm ordering one right now! It will be used for our yard at home! I was looking into spending $100- 150 for a walk behind spreader but they all have the big hoppers that hold 50-100 plus pounds of fertilizer and seed which is way overkill for my usage and yard! Most all of the spreaders in the price range still have issues with the cables and the spreader mechanism getting stuck or not opening or closing properly! 😎💪👌👍
Same here, I was shopping for a walk behind spreader, something better than Scott's, something with pneumatic tires, but almost everything offered has huge capacity which is just unnecessary for my needs. Only 2 options really, the Earthway 2600 or the Echo RB60 and they both have problems it seems. After watching this, I'm considering getting one of these hand crank spreaders. Never imagined using one of these would be any good.
Hi Nate, could you please tell me what the dimensions of the holes/ openings at the bottom of the hopper are? I have to spread faba beans/ broad beans which are quite large seeds and I am concerned that the seeds will not fit out of the holes in the bottom of the hopper. (I am considering purchasing one of these Solo spreaders)
wheat spreads well, but oats with long awns and cereal rye don't spread well, they bridge in the bottom and you have to constantly bump the spreader up and down to keep the flow going.
@jayturner9941 thanks! I'm looking to spread oats. I hope that you are saying that it's just annoying but does the job. Or is it so bad that you just don't bother?
I'll be more interested in this seeder when they figure out how to replace the hand crank and make it with a cordless tool battery and motor to spread the seed and fertilizer.
Kitty Hawk must have put it around his neck 🤣 I kept thinking the same thing whenever I watched videos with people putting a full hopper weighing 30lb on their neck. I even saw a bad review where the idiot said it hurt his neck 🤣🤣🤣
I'm with you Nate. Stupidest thing a guy can do is have the weight on the neck. Using the strap over the shoulder, around the back and clipped to the base shows the correct (weight distribution) way. If you get insulted from a straight forward correction about incorrect, stupid, moronic behavior, then go stand in the corner and contemplate your actions until the truth sinks in. Best review of the product I've seen on youtube. Thanks.
I invest a lot of my very precious time researching products before I buy anything. If a person reviewing something hasn't done their homework on the absolute fundamentals of its use, then they had better not be too emotionally immature to cope with being told that I DO NOT LIKE HAVING MY TIME WASTED!!!
