Hi Nick, another great video. Just my penny’s worth…re the batteries; try and keep any spares next to your body as your heat will help them perform when needed. Just make sure the batteries are properly secured to prevent any unwanted combustion!! Re the bag whether it’s the defence 4 or 6; try using a liner in combination or for a truly warm set up, place your summer bag inside. Also a hot water bottle helps at the foot end or anywhere else that needs a top up. Keep up the great work, looking forward to the next one 😊
Totally agree with Mandy. Loved this video ticked so many boxes for me it was a bit spooky 😂. Made a catapult from birch wood a while ago loads of fun and have been just using little stones off the floor (not trying to harm any animals) but I never heard about the clay ammo that sounds great. Update on the firelighters was cool must admit I thought they were going to burn well for a long time. I used saw dust/wood shavings in an ice cube tray and poured wax over it then broke them apart when cooled. Chilli con carne mmmmmm. And we gave my son a bottle of the au vodka for his birthday yesterday. Is it possible to use an inflatable sleep mat in a hammock? Thanks so much for the great content.
Thanks so much! I've just received a SimpleShot Scout X from the US, again, another Black Friday deal and I'm just watching a ton of slingshot instructional videos. I can see myself getting deeeeeep into this stuff, it's so perfect for my 15-year old ADHD brain!!! Yes, the DD Nest has a double layer bottom, so you can slide in a mat in-between. The problem most hammockers have is that the mat moves around and it's a PITA to 'surf' it in your sleep, much worse when it's really cold and it makes a big difference. There's an amazing hammock by Amok called the Draumr, that is a true lie-flat hammock, and it has a sleeve to slide a pad in - so it doesn't move around at all and you're perfectly flat. The whole system costs 500 quid, so it's something I'd love but can no way afford right now... Thanks again!
