@ Corporals Corner Hey Shawn, just wanted to let you know that it appears this year's RPMfest is actually going to go. Not sure if it's up your alley where it's 3 days of various styles of heavy metal, but, beyond that, an actual pro wrestling outfit I've never heard of joined up & on the last night of the show, there'll be a pro wrestling exhibition going on! This'll either be really funny or awesome or both @ the same time. Early bird Tix which have been 50.00$ for all 3 days in the past should be up around 5/28/22 & would include the wrestling part of it. Individual day Tix won't happen until probably late June / early August but those can run more $. Anyway, just throwing out an invitation to you, your son & anyone else in your family that might want to scope it out. There is camping but I'm not sure on the bushcraft side of it how much you could "get away with" except I know no "regular cooking fires" out in the woods where camping would be primarily; something like a well monitored butane / propane thing would be ok though. I'll leave the website for you so you can scope it out. @ the moment, certain things aren't on the site like bands & the thing about the wrestling aspect, but as time goes by, all of everything will be up on it. URL is www.rpmfest.org & video taping / filming is encouraged. Maybe as something semi silly, make a "you survive a (primarily) heavy metal concert"!? I think you'd like the area it's being done in. I usually sponsor & help out putting it together & all sorts of other things when it goes on & if I run into you, I'll offer you a beer or something.

Outstanding video!! I love the shot of our moon!! As you have many nights of outdoors camping under your belt have you noticed that our moon is having two different moon phases in the same night??!!! Look at it when it rises and again just before it sets.... No kidding!!!

Tell me something Jarhead what makes more since carrying an Ultralight hammock and tarp with a combined weight of 3 pounds soaking wet or carry a couple lbs of rope and spend 2 or 3 hrs making that set-up. That's a lot of activity so you're gonna blow through calories not to mention your outfit has Zero mobility...😉 Just saying...😉

Those small loops you make and loop over the ridgeline that you used to hang the lantern from... i used those loops few weeks ago to make a temporay washing line for our cloths since it rain and we ran out of space to hang everything. The loops i made to hook the clothes hanger into . The benefit of that you could keep the clothes from sliding down as my ridgeline was at steep angle. So Corporal thanks for sharing tips i learn a lot and i use some of this even in my work.

Shawn Kelly...you are one clever man. The funny thing is...I am a 75 year old woman living in Ontario Canada and discovered your videos on Utube a week ago and am hooked 15 videos watched and more to go. The odds of me camping in the woods is nil, but if for some unknown reason I had to, I will be ready. Your food recipes are great and I love your enthusiasm for coffee and bacon. Keep on educating.....with the uncertainty in the world today you may be helping many people.

Rock-a-bye Corporal in the tree tent, when he lays down, the Corporal is spent. If the rope breaks, the Corporal falls down, and sleeps the rest of the night on the ground. I couldn't pass up the chance to re-write a lullaby. Another outstanding video! I find it confusing that some don't understand that the lashings are just holding the poles in place, and that all the weight of the bed poles is actually resting on the 'crossbars'. Although, it may be that they actually need to see it up close to understand. Everyone sees and learns differently, I suppose. As always, your time and effort in bringing us these videos is much appreciated. Semper Fi!
