Solo Palace of the Dead is EASY - FFXIV

One of my fav solo runs was hitting 185, opening a chest, found a mimic, mimic dropped a mimic, which dropped a chest that exploded and killed me. GG potd.

I've done a lot of PoTD solo (record is 175) and grouped up with some friends who normally do savage to do the new deep dungeon when it dropped. I was in a voice call with them and helping direct things. After we were done they commented on how they could tell I'm a deep dungeon player. Apparently my mindset for approaching things is something entirely unfamiliar to them

I've found doing solo deep dungeon to be way more enjoyable, as every group I've done it with I either gotta teach a bunch of sprouts the inner machinations of Yoshi P's mind, or they're people who only subscribe to play Deep Dungeon and literally run through every level like an 8 y/o on nose snow.

I feel this. I feel this deep in my bones. But do you know what is even worse than losing a run to spontaneous TNT calves or getting vored by a snake? Disconnecting. Especially when there's no lag beforehand to warn you, and your roommates had no internet hiccups at the time. ☠️

No Drip is probably the most devestating debuff

POTD is a beautiful and efficient way to break your confidence and happiness. I remember my very first solo experience being special. I stepped on so many landmines on the second floor (52nd) that I was able to be mailed back to Quarrymill in a Lalafell shoebox.

When I first tried this, I was expecting it to be difficult, and I could not have underestimated it more.

When a game forces you to be with a team or they debuff to death 💀

Devs for Bozja: "So what if we take this, make all the traps be instant kill landmines, make a giant map that is arduous to go thru, set the players speed to -1, give the mobs infinite aggro range, add some bosses that give the middle finger instead of hit markers, and have the entire area be a never ending fate grind?" Fun fact, the RNG to PotD can be used for drinking games. The most dangerous one I've seen someone attempt thus far was "Take a shot every time we see a Silver Chest" back when PotD was still new, may have had one run of 21-30 with 47 silvers total >.>

I did a solo PotD once. I just wanted to get the Lonely Explorer Title (get through floors 1-100 solo and die on a 101 or higher floor). Though, I wanted to see how far I could go. I think I got past floor 120 and gave up just so I can get my title.

Hey, I've got a silly idea for a trap for deep dungeons - how about one that instakills you, fails the duty, deletes your character, then deletes your account so you have to re-buy the game and then resub?

Favorite thing about Deep Dungeons is whenever I trigger 9 out of the 12 explosive traps we found on one of our runs ... yep my knees where gone

On my very first ever solo POTD run, I made it to floor 100 and only lost because I forgot how the boss's unique mechanic basically REQUIRES you to use poms of resolution and never tells you that. .... I then spent the next five or six runs dying well before then, to luring traps, to lag spikes, to listening too much to background youtube videos and getting ambushed from behind by patrols.... just on and on. It's been incredibly frustrating, not gonna lie! A couple nights ago with a friend in Eureka Orthos took the cake, though: Engaged a mob with a self-destruct mechanic, so we were watching it like hawks. Since we weren't paying enough attention to other things, we then got hit from behind by a patrolling Bast, which used its Scythe Tail. The knockback from the scythe sent us forward, into the room.... where we collided with a land mine. The bast then used its followup Leap attack to one-shot us. Deep Dungeons, everybody!

The low floors u will die a lot to toad traps and slimes/snakes before learn to hug walls to avoid most of traps

Thankfully HoH is way easier. Up until 70-100 where it just goes "this enemy will one shot you if you step in one wrong spot"
