There was a time in my life where I loved Jeff Hardy more than John Cena. Addiction is no joke as I’ve seen some people which took years to finally recovery. Jeff needs to do what Moxley did. Fully admit there is an issue and seek out the help he needs. No matter how long it takes. we don't even know if drugs were an actual issue here. Their are reports claiming he looked fine backstage before the match. Could of been knocked silly or just not feeling it for whatever reason and walked (would be weird but it's possible) off leading Vince and Co to assume the worse. I love Jeff, always been a huge fan. one of my favorites growing up. I’m 33 and remember and have a lot of fond memories of matches with him. I used to wear the wristbands. But it’s hard to get behind him anymore. Every time he finally gets something going, something happens that halts it. Drugs. DUI. Etc. We complain about Vince doing the start and stop pushes. Jeff does it to himself. He finally gets a push or something going for himself and one way or another it gets ruined. I remember that ladder match with undertaker in 2002-3 Then shortly after he was gone. I remember 2008-9 he was a world champion feuding with Edge Triple H Undertaker and CM Punk then there was the cage match and he left. Then he showed up in TNA as the charismatic enigma days And he he was on and off tv again. Heel Immortal Jeff hardy in TNA and then Victory Road Happened with sting. Now this.. Yeah it sucks and is disappointing. But more importantly like Jason said, I just want him to be healthy and happy. I don’t want to lose Jeff Hardy like we’ve unfortunately lost so many others.

I'm not going to heavily criticize Jeff Hardy like other people are. Addiction is not something someone can overcome permanently. People who have been sober their entire lives wouldn't understand how people like Jeff Hardy relapse. I think Jeff did what he did because his body can't take anymore considering the fact that he's aging like a lot of guys and girls do who have been doing pro wrestling for decades now. Initially after hearing he had a rough night, I liked to believe it was maybe a rough mental health sort of day. With that as well people have ups and downs good and bad days. I still hope it was something like that, a misunderstanding Jeff wasn't ok mentally he just wanted to leave he did his job and just left as quick as he could. Because he has made so much progress for himself, regardless of how wwe was booking him he was still loyal and did whatever asked of him. I don't think he'd purposely sabotage himself. So until it comes from Jeff, I hope it's a misunderstanding Jeff was depressed that night or something to that effect wanted to just leave but still did his job. And when asked to attend rehab Jeff knew he was ok in those regards and just felt he didn't need it. It's telling the person Jeff is that fans and wrestlers alike are all just voicing concern and want Jeff well.

I agree and disagree. Yes. he is better off around his brother so he has that support system. but it isn't good to fire the guy, unless it is the last option. it can result in more problems.

Maybe he's burnt out. He probably thought he was gonna eventually get one last push which was never gonna happen unfortunately regardless if he's a fan fav or not. Because of his history obviously ppl are gonna assume it was because of drugs. I believe maybe he said fuck this 300 sum days a year traveling at 40 sum yrs old, and shiity booking. Just because he has ideas and wants a run at the Universal Championship doesn't mean a run was coming.

@Jonathan Coleman: Vince McMahon will say anything to get wrestlers to re-sign. I also think Jeff may have realised that his body simply wouldn't be able to handle the physical demands that a world title run would bring. It wasn't a calculated move, but more of a spur of the moment "F-this, I want to end my career teaming up with my brother" decision.

Janetty by far. For reference, check the Something to Wrestle (Conrad & Bruce Pritchard) podcast episode on Janetty from a couple years back. Jaw will hit the floor when you hear the segment where Conrad details in chronological order all the instances Janetty was brought back, then subsequently released/decided against re-signing him.

I never understood the fandom for Jeff Hardy, like why he was constantly over with the fans at every stage of his career. He’s a great baby face and all but I never got aboard the jeff Hardy craze train. I hope he can finally put away all of his demons for good. If not, he needs to hang it up and focus on living a sober and healthy life.

He was over for being a daredevil. Doing the swanton bomb off ladders and scaffolds definitely excites the crowd. If that’s not your thing, then you have a right to your opinion. But now, Jeff’s not doing many high flying moves anymore because of back injuries. With his well known demons, I think he needs to be away from wrestling for now. He could take a hiatus or retire altogether, but he doesn’t need to be on the road and in pain 24/7. Given that he’s now in his mid 40’s with a family, he needs to get himself together.

Nah, he was completely wasted/high in the videos in the crowd. Time for rehab again. He was moving like he was on pills, which would explain why he could start the match normal and then turn into "Soma Jeff" mid-match.

I think the conspiracy theory is so, so stupid. I like JD, he is very smart when it comes to pro wrestling, sometimes I think he can’t take other peoples opinions but I do think he knows what he is talking about. This scenario (which is what he presented it as to be fair) is absolutely stupid, if Jeff was so unhappy in WWE he wouldn’t be doing interviews talking about how he wants to bring Willow into WWE or how he is really excited for a Reigns feud or that he RESIGNED last year to get his old theme back. I don’t want to talk about what’s next for Jeff, some will say AEW and I get why but for me if this keeps happening to Jeff because he is banged up and beat up from constantly wrestling then I personally believe it’s time to retire, is that sad? Yes but I’d rather see him be happy and healthy then him give us dream matches with Matt in the AEW Tag Division that could be potentially making his situation worse by the fact he is constantly wrestling.
