Nicely done! You're fun to watch and gave some encouragement to taking the plunge & splurging about $1K for this. As others, tracking youngsters chasing the ball while not having to stare at my smartphone is what I'm looking for. Thanks!
Wow this is some pretty interested tech! Might I ask how much you paid? Looks like it would be pretty expensive. Tracking a drone for sure could be pretty interesting. I'd really like to see you doing something like a shot indoors with you walking around and talking and see how the tracking does in that kind of situation.
I purchased a refurbished unit on SoloShot's website for $699. Since it is based on GPS... It is an outdoor only device. Pixem makes a camera that does the same thing indoors, but you need to place beacons in the corners of the room.
Hi Shawn. Thanks for the video. I'm interested in the SoloShot to automatically record my son's soccer games. Could you tell me how high the SoloShot tripod extends? I've seen some tripods on Amazon which extend upwards of 10 feet high. Would I be able to use those with the SoloShot? Because I'm thinking a high tripod would be essential for my purposes. Finally, is there a better option for me?
Trying to find something that might be able to track motion of a tennis match. Was thinking this would just focus on the player with the tracker so you’d lose the motion of the ball?
Good start. I thought you planned on using your drone with this in the video? Maybe I miss understood. I'd like to see this work with something faster and have it track that. Still, it's a good start and I'll need to work with this product. Thank you.
The 4k is ok... I think the automatic tracking functionality is way better than the video quality. The closer you get, the harder the motors have to work to keep up with you. Think about how much your neck moves to keep up with movement close up rather than far away. Thanks for watching!
@@corneilac9761 The Optic65 has a 4K camera and can zoom in 65x. I would recommend that. I bought a refurbed version that was cheaper, so I could get the better lens. Same warranty.
FYI: GPS Does not "send a signal to a satellite and back down" GPS is a passive technology that only receives signals from multiple satellites and then computes a position based on timing data.
VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! We had issues with the camera not tracking properly. It filmed the ground, 30 yards to the right of the device, loses GPS constantly, just to name a few issues. We reached out for help and they took forever to respond. We ended up purchasing another camera system and sending this one back. Even getting the return information back from them has been a super hassle! We were finally told that Soloshot received the items and it could take up to 30 days to refund. It has now been over 60 days since they've told us they've received the product back. No refund, and no response. I caution anyone from buying this camera. There are better options in the same price range that I would go with...and did. Good luck to anyone who buys this camera. Hopefully you have better luck than us. AVOID THIS PRODUCT/COMPANY!!!
How is it on recording indoors? Say like, I want to record everyone opening presents on Christmas morning. Would it adjust to indoor lighting and such?
Horrible customer service. If you have a problem with your $700 camera they will not help you. The camera will not zoom in on your player if you are trying to use it for a sports game.
Many customers, myself included, didn't even get the product that we paid for. No refund and no product. Five years later. Ridiculous. I would never recommend soloshot.
