I think this is now my favorite Watson in any Sherlock adaption, love this possibly imaginary goofy lil boyfriend that lives in Sherlock's brain

FYI: cherie (roughly pronounced the same as Jon says “sherry”) means “dear” or “sweetheart” in French. French and Italian terms of endearment, especially feminine terms similar to cherie, were often used in Parlyaree (later borrowed by Polari), a form of gay slang used in the late 19th-late 20th centuries. AKA it’s definitely gay for Jon to call Sherlock sherry. Doesn’t matter if they meant it to be Parlyaree, it still gives major queer vibes.

Potential spoilers! My interpretation of ‘here’s what happened’ The character portrait of Luca was done incorrectly. Luca was, in fact, a criminal, and performed scams successfully with Emma before they parted ways. Emma recognised him in the seance poster, and realised she had the perfect opportunity to steal the most valuable item Lord Craven had and pin it on another crook. She insisted they visit the medium to speak with the long dead Raj, and swiped the diamond when she got the chance. Recognising her himself, Luca quickly realised she was framing him, but she also could tell the police he was a scam artist if he threatened her. So he went to her room the second he had the opportunity, knowing she would be in there pretending to recover from her ‘terrible fright’ - and killed her. He quickly found the diamond as she hadn’t stashed it yet (maybe she even flashed it around in his face, driving him to the kill) but he didn’t want to take it - leaving it by the body would ensure his innocence was proven in both theft and murder. But he and Emma had kept matching butterfly jewellery from their days scamming together - a common enough piece, but still one that could tie them together if it was found. So he searched through her purse and jewellery box desperately trying to find it, but as he didn’t notice the false bottom to the box he was forced to return to his room without it, lest he be caught in the act. Just call me Adrian Monk.

This looks like a very weird but cool game, I'm kind of tempted to play it myself! Speculation (and possibly ep spoilers) ahead: Yeah I'm pretty sure Jon is dead and Sherlock is just imagining him. Or maybe Jon wasn't a real person in the first place and he's just Sherry's imagination. Jon doesn't walk, he *appears*. J&J point this out too. Nobody else acknowledges Jon, and only talk to/about Sherlock, even when it would be very reasonable to be like "why tf is this other dude sitting on my bed". Sherlock was given only one room at the hotel. (But also I love the "there was only one room" trope so...) I'm sure there are other details too, but these were the freshest ones in my mind. I'm intrigued!

Like, you don't have to use the narrative tropes of the time to acknowledge the racism of the time, game.

Soooo, google tells me that “craven” comes from the Welsh word “craf” which means garlic. The Craven region of northern England is known for having wild garlic grow there, and that’s how it got its name. He is in fact lord of the garlic place. Fun fact! Lord Craven was the name of Mary’s uncle in the Secret Garden who took her in after her parents died. So Mary from the Secret Garden is related to this guy in the Sherlock game.
