Top row can hold 5 cars as it doesn't need to allow passage, all other rows need 1 space to allow for magic car shuffling.

I remember going through this same thought process, haha. Now after doing it everyday it's just funny! What sucks about these systems is you have to get out to get it to move and wait until it's done to leave.... wish that part was remote and I'm sure it is somewhere. Every time I have a non-JP friend over, we always laugh about leaving someone in the car while it goes up. Maybe a good video!

Yes, that seems as if it takes quite a while, but I guess that also insures that’s it’s not completely unnamed when in operation. I noticed they have a large emergency stop button on the panel. Lol I wouldn’t mind going for the ride, dm me, maybe we could make it happen.

I wish we had these in the states instead of street parking and small parking garages taking up all the space. I saw there are a few versions of these that even have plugs for electric cars so when you leave the next morning you've got full range

When I was staying in a hotel in New York the building across the street had been hollowed out and was filled with a very large one of these. I could see the cars moving about through the windows like a vending machine occasionally. What surprised me was how swiftly they shuffle from side to side. The electric plug you mentioned sounds like a fantastic idea.
