Good job but I wouldn't necessarily use WD40, as the oil might attract dust and other debree and end up making it worse after some time. Electronic contact cleaner would be better for a more long term solution.
Thank you for sharing this ill be sure to use it on mine asap. I have the same issue with the selector knob on my radio I assume it would work there as well. They look like the same type of selector.
HI again, don't use WD40 for that job as it does leave a oil residue, plus working on the car with the power on is risky even though it is only 12V if a small spark occures there is the risk that the WD40 goes up in flames. Use a dry contact cleaner first of all it is specific for this job plus there is no risk as it is not flamable and it leave no oil residue as it evaporates quite quickly
Try changing the time with that knob during daylights savings while it's going bonkers :.D Looks like I'm gonna need to do this to all my Saab Knob in the Aero haha
Hi, question: I found a 2002 9-3 SE Hatchback for $900. The owner said the car dies randomly after startup sometimes and the RPMs go up randomly. Would this be a cheap fix? I’ve never owned a Saab before. Also, it has 167k miles on it.
@@AutoAutopsy Sorry, not button, I meant knob. Although I did pull the faceplate section off, which you didn't seem to do, so maybe that has something to do with it?
Thanks man!! I have a 2004 saab 9.3 arc. My clock resets on its own all the time...now im having a alert that goes off with no visual symbols. Sounds like morse code.7 chirps followed by 4 chirps then it stops for 5 min and repeats again.
Thanks for this. Worked for me. The display was just not responding to the rotary selector but all good now. Note for anyone who tries this and it doesn't appear to fix the problem. Follow AA's advice and then just leave it alone for a few days. Mine worked perfectly after that.
I will try that, thanks for the video. Another problem I have in my Saab 93 2003, I have handsfree buttons on steering but I have no connection in the main menu, so I dnt know if I have handsfree or not..
@@AutoAutopsy I don't have connection setup in the settings menu to be able to connect my phone via Bluetooth. But I have handsfree button on the steering wheel.
Quick question. I got a 2003 Saab 9-3 linear, and was wondering what would be the best exhaust or exhaust system for it without giving up some performance of getting rid of stock muffler/system. Also I’m not really looking to remap the whole exhaust system but if I have to I will.
No exhaust system is going to hurt your performance, so don't worry about that. If you want the best, look into krona. If you're on a budget, get something custom done from the catback. You'll find the biggest gains from an upgraded downpipe though
Only 17 mpg - we might need a wee more information my friend to produce any meaningful diagnosis. Year, model, engine, trans, mileage, oil consumption, maintenance history, your length of ownership, and when did you observe the change in the mpg, or has it been the same for your period of ownership. All that would be good for starters.
Cool video thanks for this. But i have a question , I have a 2005 9-3 linear and i wanted to know is it possible to swap out radios from other 9-3's or a climate control unit ( i dont have climate control) Does the unit fit and work the same or no? Same with the radios. I have the basic radio in mine. TY.
youll need a tech 2 to divorce yours and marry the icm2 or 3. i recommend the ICM 2 and youll need the corresponding amps! make sure the parts you swap are from 2003-2006 :)
@@ConfermentRM Ty , what do you mean by icm2 or 3? sorry im new to saabs. Im trying to learn as much as i can. So i will need the amp from under the Driver seat correct? And are they just plug and play? Lastly is there a forum or website with this type of information so i dont have to keep bothering you. Sorry for all the questions... :3
@@babykirbyman The ICM1 is the one you currently have with no screen. ICM 2 has the smaller screen and is the most reliable one. ICM3 has the naviagtion and is much more of a pain to make work as youll need the DVD player for the NAVI and various components of. You will need AMP1 that goes under the drivers Seat and the one in the rear of the car, left quarter panel which is AMP 2 which powers 2 rear 6x9 speakers on the rear shelf. you should have all the wiring with nothing connected. (off topic its same as the locking gas cap that we have the option for, if you pull back the fabric on the right rear passengers side trunk, youll see the connector.. lol.)
@@AutoAutopsy I am very knowledgeable my friend! If you have any questions about anything I would be more than happy to help. I worked at eEuroparts.com for 2 years, and had all the Saab fan base contact me directly! I like viewing your videos because I am happy to see someone saying how things are with Saab...most people I know that drive them has stuff so backwards. Appreciate the comment back!
