Superb in every way Still sounds as good as it did when the album came out Best album title I've ever heard of - definitely one of the musical highlights of the decade when it came out Awesome song
I did sound for him several times at Maxwell's in Hoboken, and The Fez in NYC. I feel privileged to have met him, and honored to have shared in his musical experience in some small way. sad...
Mark, you beautiful man, wherever you are right now I truly hope all your days are Gold. Thank you ever so much for the brilliant music that changed my life
@SiThePi That's awesome you met Linkous. I was about 17 when they were at their most popular, which was never much considering how popular they should have been. It's really too bad people don't remember this music these days. I was really disappointed to see that Rolling Stone only had a small mention of it. I was almost as disappointed as the week Joe Strummer died and Justin Timberlake was on the cover.
Everything that's made is made to decay Well I'm shrinking bones in the sun Won't you tell me why that The beautiful ones are always crazy... pezzo della mia vita '(
@SiThePi I remembered his obituary was in the March issue of Rolling Stone. I just checked it and it indeed said his shot himself in the heart. RS is a pretty reliable source when it comes to things like this. If they had made a mistake, I would have thought they'd have ran a correction last month. I am sure that the sources that said he shot himself in the head just assumed that's how he would have done it.
@SiThePi That's right; I did read that he shot himself in the heart (!!). However, IF he had shot himself in the head, "mind-blowing" would have been a poor choice of words. "Poignant even in death"...I don't think I could have put it any better.
