You know what my problem with this kind of pasta is? It doesn't seem clear that the author knows all the answers. Mystery and a lack of knowledge is a must for a great pasta, but you still need to know that the writer knows the answers. That the clues are really in there if you're looking. This one felt like the author just went, "Oh man, you know what would be crazy?? If it said 'find them' Shiiiiit!"

Dakota Melody The pictures were all of young adults...young adults who were all newborns when they died, all the way from over a century ago to the modern era. And then the main protagonist finds the album with the grown-up pics of the newborn corpses. He finds him and HIS siblings (at their current young-adult ages) in the back. So I think you may have missed one or two details during your reasoning.

+Greg White All I can think of is that is a book of targets that a time traveling assassin has to kill. All the photos are of adults because they normally grew up before the time traveler went back in time and killed them as infants. As to why the main character's black and white photo is in the book, I don't know. Maybe they were relocated by a time traveling witness protection program and memory rewritten?

+ZarPof Damn, you really know how to fill in the blanks. I think in the end, the story is just up for interpretation. Although, the problem with this story is that it barely gives you enough information to draw your own conclusion.

+donald_dump I think this is my favorite theory out of all the ones mentioned here. The story still feels unfinished, though. Maybe the babies/children in the graves aren't really who the stones say they are? Then someone was collecting photographs of people he/she thinks were the missing children?

Mary and Martha in the bible are Lazarus twin sisters. Lazarus is both scientifically and religiously used to describe something that has risen from the dead. I'm guessing it has something to do with raising the dead or somebody hunting those who have been risen from the dead. Unnecessaryly complex.

Are the spirits of the dead supposed to fined him and his siblings, or are they supposed to fined the people in the book? If so, for either, to what purpose? The open questions sort of dilute the feeling of creepiness.

I used to go to an old cemetery in the hills out in Arkansas. It is very peacefull in those small town graveyards surrounded by giant cedar trees and the calls of birds. Many of the graves out there dated to the 1800s, but I was always most intrigued by the ones in the far corner that had turned to woods. There the graves were so old that the small stones had eroded into dull blank stumps or had vanished altogether. Their occupants were completely forgotten and erased by time. I always wondered who were these people, and how long had it been since someone had grieved their loss.

Needs a complete ending. Very much enjoyed it and I liked where it was going, but just sorta sorta stopped. In this world of greedy in-app purchases I nearly expected something saying "$.99" for the concluding chapter". These ambiguous endings are getting real annoying. It's either lazy writing or good writers that don't know how to wrap something up. If I wanted to make my own interpretation all the time after putting in the time to read/listen, I'd just write my own story.

I agree with this sentiment. It was a good read up until the ending, where the author completely gave up and shoveled grit and sand into the turbines of the plane that is this story. It was a violent crash with no survivors. Because I teleported into the story and slit the author's throat before he could jump out of the crashing plane.

I like this, but it bothers me that with the other people in the album, their 'doppelgangers' were those who died in infancy, whereas the last photos matched up with the ages of the protagonists. I'm just thinking...where is the similarity? It was creepy enough with the previous coincidences...and it's still creepy by the end but the change throws it off a bit, in my opinion. Mystery is fine but...I don't know, this left me confused. I think it would've been interesting if the main protagonist WAS the mother and her son was an infant and she saw a picture with his name in the album.

Everyone in the book died at an early age. this could mean one of two things: 1) The book kills young kids and hides their bodies in time, then continues the cycle. 2) The kids are reborn after being killed young. Maybe they're trapped in a never-ending loop of being killed young and being reborn. Hope this helps.
