But I'd say I'm most terrified of all the deadly ones like brown recluse, orb weaver, and black widow, but also huntsman spiders just due to their sheer size and speed. They aren't even 1/25th of my size yet they run about as fast as me if not faster. I'm only faster if I see a spider running, because then I'm running the other way haha. Spiders are very good at conserving energy. Lots of spiders don’t eat ants anyway because of the formic acid. As for the bite/sting, I vote for the ant sting; as far as I know, huntsman spiders rarely bite humans. Their main defense is flight and would be unlikely to bite unless crushed against you.
@apotato9894
@apotato9894 2 года назад
To add to this, huntsman bites might hurt quite a lot in the moment (those fangs are powerful), but their venom is not strong enough to cause much pain in humans unless you have a reaction to it. The most you should feel by the time recording was finished is a strong itch at most, and he said it hurt like hell.

Some huntsman's can be so aggressive and some can be so friendly and curious. It really depends. Here, they're everywhere we're used to having them in the house regularly and sometimes they'll just mind their own business and eat all the pests and other times they'll get a little too close and personal in a more aggressive manner.

Do you have any updates? Things go south, ok, fantastic, all or none? I would like to hear, wanting to start own colony for display tanks similar to antworld to match my reef tanks and planted fw tanks too. Edit: Really wonder what they'd do if it was a sw reef tank half filled, with live rock or similar to replicate an island atoll w healthy mangroves, some or a lot sticking out of the water for the ants. Then underwater, really cool homegrown corals just rocking it, some growing so fast you'll have to constantly trim them back with bone cutters and make new fragment clones by super gluing to the live rock itself. Would ants thrive under a condition like that? Corals and terrestrial plants need a lot of light. I guess it'd need to be a certain ant species to be able to handle accidentally dropping into the heavy current (low flow is generally bad) reef portion. There's no way that ants don't rule the coastlines of even some of the smallest islands.
