Triathlon Taren has never before asked the Trainiacs for help with this before, but it's time us triathletes joined together to do something fantastic. Triathlon Taren starts the day with a long run and watches some of the 2017 Winnipeg Police Service Half-Marathon which his friend Nicole Walker won, then he and No Triathlon Kim held a live stream with triathlon questions and answers, finally he attends the fundraising event for Winnipeg triathlete Joanne Shiewe.

Thanks for giving Jo's story another voice Taren. And Trainiacs, you'd have flippin' loved Jo - she was the real deal. Serious training as needed, competing in beer miles while wearing lederhosen (and winning) when it was time to have fun. Thanks to the #trainiacs who have already donated to support her legacy! It's another great demonstration of the value of community.

Hi from France. First I'd like to voice my worries: Taren shaves his legs and got to wearing some make up! Do you feel the need to talk? Now regarding Jo's story; once again I can only be impressed by this energy that people can bring on. She cuts a real inspirational figure. Compared with this kind of people one can't help but feel tiny. I think that when onto a hard session or race every trainiac should just have a thought for Jo. I'm pretty positive that it'd give them a serious boost. Thanks Taren. And my strongest to support to Jared. Let's not forget him either.

Hi from France....again. Taren, seeing the pic of Jo at the end of the video had me thinking. Couldn't we ( i.e the trainiac community) get a race shirt/singlet in support of Jo's cause? Since we're spread worldwide it could be a good idea. Maybe it wouldn't be necessary to start from scratch. Would it be possible to start from a Winnepeg Tri Club singlet? Just an idea that popped in my head after your emotional non-make up but with shaven legs video ;-)

Hi Renaud - one thing that we have been doing locally is Jo buttons. It started as a chance for people to show their support as things took a turn for the worse last summer and to raise some funds (we asked a $5 minimum donation), but it's kept going pretty well. Obviously I'm a bit partial (ok, a whole hell of a lot), but I agree that it's nice to have something to remind and inspire you during the tough moments.
