There is a lesson in this with respect to modern notions of social justice. Sam Adams was for social justice, but John understood rightly that justice requires no modifier, and in fact any modification from its true self is an aberration. Justice is individual, not social. Only the individual facts and circumstances of the case will do.
My sister had to get an abortion when she was 14, and her boy friend was 15. I wish our school system had sex education so they would have understood how biology & relationships work. My wife is a pediatrician who makes more than I do. She got her doctorate at Brown University. My son is gay and married his partner of three years. They are adopting a child. My wife 's cousin is transgender and we all support her very much. Many in my town are suing the conglomerate of a gas company that is proposing to frack in our town because it's so close to our water supply. The mayor of my town is black and Muslim, and his wife is white. And fur you crusty curmudgeons on this channel, we would like to extend a big FUCK YOU to you all. Here's my advice: STAY OUT OF POLITICS!!
The HBO miniseries John Adams portrays this well. I am surprised to learn that this is the origination of the beyond a reasonable doubt standard in American law.
"people who 'claim' they heard . . ."? why not just state "people who say they heard"??? one of these women later talks about biased and unbiased, but their prior statements sure didn't sound much that way!
Knew a women who was an attorney in the Army. She didn't have to be in the Army but she just liked being in the Army. Now her grandfather was also an attorney and a very successful one. When she passed her bar, he had a talk with her. He told her, "There are a lot of lawyers in the world. But not that many good ones." Very true. Funny how I find those lawyers who are Federalist Society members just feel that only they are the best ones to be in charge of our government and our courts. Yeah. Can we say, "Grievance Committee?" Can we say, "Ethics" violation.
Their agenda is to repeal the "New Deal" -- the heart of which is Social Security, and then going after civil rights protections, thus restoring all power and wealth to the right-wing extremist white supremacists. The US Supreme Court is dominated by the Federalist Society, and they are showing their colors by TAKING AWAY rights.
Either we follow true federalists. Or R and L funded federalists. No, I don't support this channel. I only support true federalists. Real federalists! Where are the real federalists here?
