I'd love to see you guys formalize your reviews a little bit. They end up being more of an "overview" or tour of the feature set. I'd love to see you actually rate the bikes in key areas so your reviews could be used for a more direct comparison.

In Canada, I bought the no-name knockoff of the Sinch. Mine has fenders, 500 w motor, rear rack with integrated light, same controller, but only 6 gear with small front gear - I'll be changing that soon - but still happy with it. Unfortunately, the dealer who sells it - I bought it at the Toronto Bike & eBike Show - didn't provide a manual, instructions, bike identity etc. Everything I've found out about my bike has been watching EBR.

These bikes are a lot of fun, if you lower the tire pressure to 5-7 PSI it's amazing what they can do in soft sand!! It also makes them more comfortable, but also less efficient. Thanks for the comment, Alonzo :)

Nice! I like Thudbuster a lot, they have the Long Travel and Short Travel (which did you get?) and they have the extra long 400mm post which works great for folding ebikes like the SONDORS Fold XS ;)

Just received mine the other day and love it! However, the seat is not comfortable. A little too hard. Cloud 9 seat is on the way. Other than that, this bike is a beauty. I feel like a kid again

I never understood the riding in sand thing. Great review. Thinking of this or the aventor Sinch. If Aventon Sinch has a rear rack and wheel Fenders it's a hard choice.

You gotta try riding in the sand! Super fun. I heard Aventon was including fenders for free with the Sinch awhile back, not sure if they're still doing that... but it's a great bike as well. The two are very similar, but I like the configuration of the Fold XS better... the cadence sensor is more responsive and you can use the throttle from 0mph, whereas on the Sinch you have to get moving first before the throttle is active.

@@TysonRoehrkasse I see, The back order is too long for the Fold XS. I just pulled the trigger on a Ride1up LMT'D yesterday. I Think I will love that bike as well. The tires are 27.5 x 2.4 Moto X. I'm In New York City so I think it should be a good medium ground 🤔 ,No pun intended 😉

Yes there’s a code that escapes me at the moment, you can max out at 25mph. Do a search on RU-vid, to override maximum speed limit for sondors Fold XS, it’s a simple adjustment. 👌

At 9:30 he said you can add liners or slime. What are those? Been spending days watching and reading reviews. Looking at this and the radmini 4 right now as my first folding fat tire ebike. Any advice on anything would be welcome.

Slime is a sealant you add to your tubes, if punctures happen it will fill and seal without much pressure loss. It adds some weight but that hasn't ever been noticeable to me. There's lots of different liners out there that go just inside the tire, a new brand I've seen is called Tannus Armor and they are awesome.

The shading of the display for filming would work if the angle was such that it pointed to you. Usually we were looking at the sky, which is why we can’t see anything on the screen.

guys please help me out i'm so confused which one to get, so i'm going on holiday next month for 3.5 weeks to indonesia to visit my family. Once i'm back in Copenhagen which is where I live i want to buy an ebike. I'm confused between the following: SONDORS Fold X Fiido M1 Pro or Fiido M21 Mate X - (i'm bias about this one as it's based here in Copenhagen as it's from here and they have their store 30 minutes from where i live), but the problem is the price it seems like a lot for a bike, i want to get the one with 120km range but it costs 3.102 US dollars, keep in mind i could finance it for 2 years which would cost me 129.25 dollars which maybe doesn't sound too bad. I could get the one with 80 km range and that only costs 2.000 US dollars but i don't think it would be enough as i work as a food courier so i deliver food on my bike so would need something that lasts for at least the whole day. Any suggestions? if u could recommend which one from the list u think would be good for me or come with some other ebike names / brands that would be great thanks!!

I own a RadRunner, and its all about hauling stuff, including a passenger, and accessorizing, its an awesome bike! If you need a folder and are simply looking for fun transportation, I would go with this Sondors bike. You can't go wrong with either. If you choose Rad, get the RadRunner Plus! Have fun!

Good job on the review , that being said Sondors in the past go away with a high price tag , so the orice on this bike to me is over priced because the competition has tighten, many bikes at 15 to 16 hundred have better specs and are faster with quality parts as well..Sondors take note

For what it's worth, the Fold XS is a big bike LOL. I bought it b/c I thought it'd fold and tuck into a trunk of a car. Annnnd, that wasn't the case. It's a big, bulky, and strong, aluminum frame.

Stupid thumb throttle that forces you to reach way around the other components mounted on the handle bars. This looks very uncomfortable and dangerous as your grip is compromised. That and the use of the cheapest detailer along with the premium price made this one a NO for me. I can’t believe they design/ install the thump throttle having to reach around the shifter and the brake assembly? Crazy, good luck to anyone with small hands.

It's a 20 mph fat tire bicycle - not a motocross bike. No suspension needed. Just get a suspension post.

Here's a list of the differences. You can make your own conclusion. Motor: Fold XS = 750W, Lectric 500W Brakes: Fold XS = Hydraulic with 180mm disks, Lectric = Mechanical with 160mm disks (Hint: hydraulic is better, bigger disks is better) Battery: Fold XS = 14 Ah, Lectric = 10.4 Ah Front Suspension: Fold XS = Air adjustable forks, Lectric = None Cadence Sensor: Fold XS = 12 magnet, Lectric = Unknown Load Capacity: Fold XS = 300 lbs, Lectric = 275 lbs Range: Fold XS = 40-60 miles, Lectric = 25-50 miles Top Speed in Class 2 mode: Both = 20 MPH Top Speed in Class 3 mode (reprogrammed ESC): Both = 25-28 MPH (Hint: Bigger is always better, Lol) I don't have either bike nor do I work for Sondors. I am in the market for a folding electric bike myself and I know which one I'd buy. I personally think the Sondors frame looks better. Plus the Lectric seems to be available from at least half a dozen other companies selling under different names. I've ridden mountain bikes with and without suspension and with and without fat tires. I'll take suspension any day of the week, especially if your roads are as bad as the ones around here. Plus, the suspension seat post for the Lectric costs $90, the Sondors is $25. The biggest plus for the Lectric is that it comes standard with fenders and a rear rack whereas Sondors charges $200 for theirs though it does include a softcase to strap to the rack for carrying things. If you don't want to spend $1700 then look at the Sondors Fold X. Same price and specs as the Lectric but has a higher capacity battery for longer range.

I didn't have any problems with bumping my knees on the frame, it is thick but I like that as it feels rock solid! If you're planning to use the motor quite a bit you'll be pretty comfy on this, due to the folding frame you can't extend your leg fully while pedaling so that can be a bit more tiring.

@@kendrickmelendez8185 I only got to spend one day with the bike so I can't speak for long-term durability, especially since this is a newer model for SONDORS. Based on the construction of the frame and components I would expect it to last a good long time. Range is a question we get a lot, and the answer is "your mileage may vary." There's so many factors here: rider size/weight, terrain, air pressure, incline vs flat, use of battery vs. pedaling... so there's no definite answer to the question. The Sinch has a high-capacity and good quality battery so I can see it easily doing 30+ miles even with medium levels of pedal assist the entire way.

The only thing that has stopped me from pulling the trigger on the Sinch is that the throttle doesn't work from a dead stop. The Sondors Fold XS seems to be everything the Sinch is plus a color display and the ability to use the throttle from a stop (also walk assist). Thoughts?

That's a tough call, they've both got their strong points! I actually prefer the greyscale LCD on the Sinch vs the color one on SONDORS - greyscale is just easier to see in all lighting conditions. That's just personal preference though, the color does look very nice! The Fold XS is definitely more powerful and the cadence sensor is aggressively tuned, plus having the throttle work from a standstill = more "fun to ride" bike especially if you use a lot of throttle. The Sinch, on the other hand, has a better derailleur and shifter, I would say the "riding like a bike" experience is a bit more refined there, so if you're a bit more active and don't use the throttle all the time, the Sinch would be a better fit. Of course with Aventon you get their dealer network support, vs SONDORS being only online... lectric has it all and 28 mph - gray scale display which is better in sunlight, right side throttle,fenders and rack all for $900. No-brainer.

Enki & Enlil the only thing holding me back in lactric is the 500w motor. 750w is perfect and so does has it but it’s so much more !!!!!!

So like, im looking at the regular x fold, or the rad mini. Need it for winter commuting (less than 5 miles) and im wondering if the sondors can handle snow. Radpower says the mini can, just to be mindful of removing the battery and keeping components dry once stored

They can handle snow, you'll want to take similar precautions as with the Rad. The Fold XS will handle riding in snow better with the fat tires, but if you're going to be riding on roads that get cleared by plows (no deep snow) then the Fold X should be good as well.

@@TheDarknightkiller Interesting. Maybe they licensed the Fold X model to Aventon. I ordered the Fold XS model for end of February delivery. 750 watts vs. 500 watts and on demand throttle so I can keep up with my son on his electric Oset MX 10.

@Street Tao Ended up ordering the Fold XS, theres a large Sondors FB group and everyone suggest going with the Fold XS over the Fold X. I've been waiting almost 6 weeks now and the bike is in transit now scheduled for delivery on Monday. Can't wait.

I'm wondering if folded if it would fit in the front passenger seat of a van?.. almost looks like it would! Anybody try to load these on a bus or metro? In 5 years if Sondors is gone how can you replace or upgrade the battery?

It would be a tight fit but probably? Depends on the van. If you check the full written review (link in description) I included measurements of the folded dimensions. There are various companies out there that can repack batteries to renew them, so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Some people just buy a second battery now and store it for years until the first one dies... but that seems like a hassle to me, you have to store it at around 50% charge, away from cold and heat, and cycle it every few months or so to make sure it doesn't degrade in storage.

I have a Fold XS on order and almost cancelled it for a Super73 but I'll hold off until they offer them with more power, 5000 watts or something. Love the look of them
