No idea what happened here and haven’t been around the Minecraft fandom for years but if you were a fan of lovejoy and want an alternative, listen to the wombats. They sound so similar to lovejoy that when I listened to their music I couldn’t listen to lovejoy anymore because when I tried to listen back it just sounded like Walmart version of the wombats. Kill the director and Greek tragedy are some of their most popular, of of my fav rn is lemon to a knife fight and walking disasters.

May I recommend: Car Seat Headrest McCafferty Ghost Bad Omens Los Campesinos Mother Mother They aren't going to be the same, unfortunately, because Lovejoy was its own experience (at least for me) but these are some similar-ish artists that I listen too.

Buddha Trixie is also a really good band. They opened for lovejoy in SF last year. I went in not expecting to have a new favorite band by the time i came out of that show. I really recommend Pitbull Goes To The Club, 7-Elleven and Always Yours!!

I would recommend Ssshhhiiittt, they are a Russian indie band, I think they have their similarities to Lovejoy, but I think the sounds have similar vibes

Another suggestion is another band that's ALSO called lovejoy. They aren't the same British lovejoy, but they have similar songs like "Get well soon" it kind of sounds like pebblebrain too!

Essentially if you used to listen to Lovejoy and you're looking for alternatives, your best bets would probably be either James Marriott or Good Kid (Good Kid had a pretty good reputation with Lovejoy iirc and James Marriott is James Marriott, nuff said)

on top of these incredible picks i’d also throw in Bears In Trees if you loved the strange, slightly awkward cryptid-like vibes of lovejoy’s interviews. their two latest singles (Hot Chocolate and Things That Look Like Mistakes) are very indie rock and stylistically similar to lovejoy, whilst i’ve seen their older stuff get described as “forest indie”. my personal favourite tracks are Fresh Concrete and I Am Cold !! :)
