❓FONDANT OR GUM PASTE?
I use BOTH for very different reasons.
Fondant (or Sugar Paste) is used to cover a cake.
Gum Paste (or Modeling Paste) is used to create cake decorations.

I’m going to attempt to make your cake, which I loved by the way. What about if I wanted to make a three 6”, would I used two “6 for the ramp? I have a party of 40 ppl, mostly kids! Thank you in advance.

You want to fill your pans to between half and 3/4 full - or about 500g. please double check this number though, I use cups to measure, so I am counting on google to have told me properly, and it depends on how tall your pans are as well. a 6x3 takes more batter than a 6x2pan

@Caketastic Cakes you said specific colors you used. Did you buy the gum paste in that color or did you use white gum paste and food coloring to make your colors?

What if u make another Sonic cake but Sonic is 3d?

Shaqir Shahini I seriously debated making him 3-d. He’s so tricky though. His head is huge, so it would weigh a lot. Then to have that on his very small body and stick legs seemed like it was beyond what I wanted to tackle. I’m sure it could be done, but the head and body would have to be made and dried separately, and you need some strong support in the legs. I guess lollipop sticks would work, but then the legs are straight out- which could look good! I suppose one could use a sculpting wire for bent legs, but I’ve never worked with it before. You could also have his 3-d body supported on a prop so the weight would go there rather than his legs, like maybe him standing by a bush or something

Yes- you need to store them somewhere cool and dry, and out of direct sunlight. Please do NOT refrigerate. If it will be eaten, I wouldn’t make it more than 5-7 days early. If it won’t be eaten, a couple weeks is fine as long as stored properly
