One of my ideas for Frontiers was that Angel Island would’ve been the final island for update 3. It’s been confirmed that Angel Island is connected to the ancients and it would’ve been epic to see a full 3D recreation of the island with all the zones (No Flying Battery and the Death Egg) in the game with gentle calm version of the Sonic 3 & Knuckles soundtrack, plus having extra music notes to find, including hidden original Carnival Night, Ice Cap, and Launch Base Zone music
I hope you do realize that for a free DLC there was no way that something this GIANT would have been it. Open Zone Angle Island is a scope for a whole new game not a free update for an already released one.
I really agree on the first point. I loved playing as the other characters and was sad that I had to wait so long to decide what characters I wanted to play. Edit: 14:47 there’s even space for it, it’s so weird that they didn’t do that
So the 100% completion reward for update 3 is actually the master koko telling you to sidestep to beat the true final boss. The option shows up before you 100% update 3, talk to the master koko and if you select that option he’ll tell you to come back when you’ve gotten 100%.
chaos island squid is meant to be a more difficult version also the spindash being automatically there kinda takes away from the action chain challenges
I wish they allow us to switch between characters anywhere after the last boss of update. And I hope to switch music and main story too as Amy and characters or use spin dash in the main open world islands
I would like Amy and Knuckles combat to be buffed in Sonic Frontiers. They dont have that many projectile attacks. Sonic has 2 in the game like Sonic boom and ect. I would like knuckles to throw rocks and Amy to Throw her hammer and call it back like in Sonic X. Knuckles and Amy should have 5 hits in their combos like Sonic does in the Main Game.
The Spindash wasn’t balanced enough in the game to warrant a simple unlock immediately upon reaching Ouranos Island. You can use it to break a lot of the game’s challenge, so you needing to have completed the challenges with all S Ranks balances out the reward. Otherwise it would essentially be given to you without reason, enabling the player to skip most of the challenges in Ouranos. If the Spindash was nerfed I could see it being unlocked upon reaching Ouranos, and replacing the reward for the challenges with something else. It should be kept across saves though, no real reason for why it isn’t, it should be a toggle in the settings, and you should also be able to turn off whatever skills you want whenever you want, so you don’t accidentally do them when you meant to do something else. Also in regards to the Big’s Fishing Spots. You can tell when you’ve completed it when you start getting duplicates, it isn’t a random pull like people seem to think, it’s a set order of catches no matter if you miss one or not. Though they really should make it so the player knows when they’ve caught everything, maybe give Big a line that says something to the effect of “Hey Sonic, congratulations I think you’ve caught everything in this fishing spot!” Thus helping the player without being too in your face about it. Maybe there could be a reward for doing it too, maybe increasing the amount of tokens you get, or unlocking harder challenges. Something more than nothing y’know?
I can agree with a lot of this. Additionally, I think it'd also be nice if you could take the perfect parry through the rest of the game too instead of only having it available for Master King Trials. In fact I think I would've replaced Extreme modes one shot stipulation with that instead since it genuinely changes how you approach the fights (and also means you aren't stuck in power boost for a whole playthrough).
IKR!? I guess I won’t be able to play endless possibilities while running around as sonic, or prison lane playing as tails, or pumpkin hill while playing as knuckles or twinkle park as Amy
Bowborb have you heard Sonic Frontiers update 3 has a patch. Sega fix some thing of the issue people have with the dlc like Knuckles glide has been improved. He can turn around easier when he glides. Sonic perfect parry has been buffed. Bowbord you should do a video on the patch to update 3 .

I like most things in this video but I don’t mind knuckles star up glide animation but the knuckles and tails stomp animation has got to go. If I were to change how knuckles combat worked I saw a pattern in the new characters Amy was the best at platforming, Tails was the best for traversal so I believe Knuckles should be the best for combat making sonic the all rounder maybe just give knuckles grad slam and a sonic boom/cross slash replacement
it seems knuckles does MASSIVELY increased damage to mini bosses. with max attack he was able to kill most minibosses in less than one full combo (about 4 normal hits) . honestly i thought it was a bug when i first saw it... might be
I have so many complaints with this final update. It was OK but I don’t think it was truly the update that we should’ve gone. They should’ve really let it bake in the oven.
If people are wondering some of the things I hate which I highly doubt it -the poor choice of movement for Amy, making her similar to the other characters -the absolute clutter of all the platforming challenges around the island -The abysmal way of unlocking skills for the three characters -The fucking towers -the trials that go from way too easy way too hard -The perfect parry (doesn’t make sense. In my opinion you let us hold down infinitely for the normal one but with this one, you have to be precise, not the other way around?)
