Wait, why Tails Doll? was Metal Knuckles too rough for you? I mean, he IS rougher then the rest of them. I mean, compared to Tails Doll who is weaker then leather, Metal Knuckles is so strong, he can't even chuckle. So much so that to signify laughter, he has to flex his cold metallic knuckles
I think there are too many spikes. This is more like an obstacle race instead of a normal race. It think it could be a nice idea to skip some spikes to just be running against Sonic without anything in the way. But, sincerely, I love this so much and I can't wait to see more of your work!
Well, that is kind of how Sonic CD did it. My biggest priority is to make it feel like the original Sonic CD boss fight area, which was littered with obstacles.
Great job! I really like how sonic isnt just a reskin of metal since he has to jump over the spikes and can be damaged, im really excited for this romhack!
That would be a cool addition if they ever made a “Special Edition” of the remake. You play through most of the Zones in the normal order, except Metallic Madness is first and we see Metal being built there. His goal is to make a Bad Future in all the stages, by repairing all the robot generators and holograms in the Past. The game ends with the race against Sonic in Stardust Speedway- but at the last second, Sonic uses the Time Stones to warp back to the Present, closing the gate many years before the race even started, leaving Metal to face the full brunt of Eggman’s Unstoppable Death Laser.

I think its tails helping sonic maybe this is a race to get a chaos emerald but tails is helping sonic also tails isn’t actually mad sonic hit his face and died
Eh, if you do that, you could then reduce the frequency of rings in the stage itself... after all, adds a challenge overall with less rings in the stage, and also adds risk and reward for collecting Sonic's rings... in fact, it'd be cool as well if there's an easter egg where Metal Sonic's spike breaking mode can be used to also damage Sonic, or course being if you manage to get enough rings, and if extra damage is done than what Sonic gets in general from spikes, then Sonic, because of running out of rings from spike damage, gets killed, making the race easier to finish...
Since this is for Sonic 2 CD, I like to give out a headcanon. Metal Sonic's campaign is confirmed a prequel as you said. The whole reason why Sonic is waiting for Metal and not arriving to the Death Egg is because this is all a simulation made by Robotnik to test Metal's capabilities. If he's going to fight the Final Boss "War Egg", it would be another simulation to test Metal's power to see if he is truly worthy to compete his organic rival.
Very well made, can’t wait to see the final result. You could make sonic keep pushing the door at the end before he dies. And I liked the idea that he gets hurt by the spikes, but when he gets hurt, he gets thrown in the front ? the back could be better, like any classic sonic game. Other than that, very well made, I’m looking forward to try this once it’s released.
Yeah, having Sonic pushing at the door was definitely an idea I had in mind. It'd be kind of difficult to do, though, so I've been putting it off. And Sonic get's pushed to the front when hitting spikes, because having him change speeds would completely break the race code and make the boss easier.
One change I feel is worth pointing out is that when the laser is about to catch up to you it actually moves slower than when it gets near you. Right now I think it moves too quickly once it gets on screen. Also, showing off the Eggman laser prior would help let you know the obstacle is coming because right now it just feels like it comes out of nowhere (despite knowing the laser is there the original Sonic CD)
The laser is actually moving in sync with Metal Sonic; it appears to slow down when it gets close because it always stays the same distance from Metal, and he starts to slow down after passing the player. I don't really have a good way to show off the laser earlier on in the level, though...
@@Pacca64 why not have it set up to where Eggman is waiting for you outside as soon as you exit that opening area and then upon passing him he shoots the laser down missing the player but also letting the player know the Hazzard will be there. You could have that Eggman start moving slowly after doing that so players who stop moving might get blasted. Maybe have it pick up speed to that of the normal one if you keep him on screen long enough.
The song originally ran almost entirely on the sega genesis; the only sound the 32X ever added was the drums (which is why Knuckles Chaotix drums are so distinct)
My dream came true! I always though of this idea that metal sonic (player) vs sonic (cpu) because when I see a metal sonic mod the metal sonic boss is replaced with metal sonic 2.0 AND I LOVE THE MUSIC THEME REMIX IN SONIC 2

I have suggestion, can you make the sprite of the spikes in Death Egg like the Marble Garden spikes (S3) so like spikes loook like there really robotic thing and also if ur using Tails, can he have a super peelout?

You can't find it anywhere because ASH made it specifically for this project. Him and I are the only ones who have the files for it. Perhaps I should upload a soundtrack to the channel at some point...

Ehsan Huq Hidden palace is,actually already restored, and has time travel setup. The layout is still unfinished, though. I'm focusing on vanilla Sonic 2 levels first, then I'll branch out once those are done.
When Sonic lost the race only Tails,Knuckles and Amy are only hope to stop Metal,I can only imagine the final boss battle. Knuckles probably using super emerald to charge himself (like mecha sonic did in Sonic and knuckles) ,Amy using her pico pico hammer,And tails making and holding up shield to protect the super emerald from metal,maybe everyone at the same time with the thing that Knucks and Amy will need to rest for while and than tails will use laser or bombs to make metal busy, butthat could be insane.maybe max only duo like Knucks and Tails and then Amy and Tails, and then if everything fails,tails will use super emerald to charge his robot or something like that.But im pretty sure that could made it too long for final zone.But that what i can image maybe it will be cooler and better,only time will tell also #Paccahiredbysega #Paccaforsonicmania2

No. Sonic is entirely AI controlled. I completely ruined Sonic 2s' vanilla 2 player mode to optimize things, so that's just not going to happen; Death Egg Zone isn't even compatible with 2 player, anyways...
