Hidden palace used it first, funnily enough. The prototypes made it use the theme before 2 player was fully fleshed out. The real question is why mystic cave 2 player uses hidden palace zones old theme!
Funnily enough, I kinda already did; the alternate layouts in the options are called "encore mode" internally. I may have to split those into a separate rom for space concerns though. The new gameplay mechanics and colour palettes are not planned, tho
I have an idea! You can use this sprite when Sonic rides a minecart: pixelartmaker-data-78746291193.nyc3.digitaloceanspaces.com/image/a7c7b5a24a2d447.png (I only made it for Sonic, but don't worry, i will make sprites for others).
The S1 build only has Sonic 1 zones in it, the S2 build only has Sonic 2 zones in it, and the SCD build only has Sonic CD zones in it. The sonic 2 one is by far the most complete; most of Sonic 1s' zones have placeholder levels for time travel, and the vast majority of the sonic CD zones are unplayable.
Ah ok, no wonder why the CD version didn't work for me on real hardware. Thanks for letting me know. Btw, can u maybe make sure this will work on real hardware? I think @redhotsonic would appreciate it @@Pacca64
I did, for a time. Have a model 1 and a Nomad floating around somewhere. Couple years ago there was lots of moving and now I don't have the space to set them up anymore. I do take emulator compatibility seriously though, so hopefully through that it will also work on hardware.@@maniathehedgehog5102
Ideas: 1. Marble Zone: Bad Future should look like Quartz Quadrant Zone: Bad Future (just the background). And make a remix for it 2. Amy's sprites should look like the NPC Amy's sprites 3. Spring Yard Zone: Good Future should look like Collision Chaos Zone: Good Future 4. Fix Super Sonic's sprites from the CD style cuz they are just yellow Sonic sprites 5. Green Hill Zone: Past should look like the Tokyo Toy Show mixed with Palmtree Panic (Past) (Bigger Mountains and add the Goblin enemy if possible and for Palmtree Panic just add the trees from the background) 6. Spring Yard Zone: Past should look like Sparkling Zone (from the Sonic 1 Beta) 7. The Good Futures should have no enemies, like in Sonic CD 8. In the Bad Futures the enemies should have a broken texture, like in Sonic CD 9. The Past stages should have the Metal Sonic Hologram, like in Sonic CD 10. Metropolis Zone: Bad Future should look like Metallic Madness Zone: Bad Future
It's not looking great, I'm afraid. I have an old community post discussing it, but I've moved on to other projects. 2 of them are other Sonic Hacks, so I do hope to have something else to share eventually, but still need a lot of work before they'll be presentable. to sum up the major issues with S2CDR, I'm not confident in my ability to add art or music into the game, but the time travel mechanic that's supposed to be the main point of the game needs those things to really shine. I'd just been distracting myself with coding features up to that point, which has lead to some bloat and feature creep that avoid the actual goals of the project. While I don't regret adding those new features, continuing to add more won't make the project finish any faster. I'm sorry to disappoint. I have been doing a lot better, perhaps someday I'll get the courage to ask someone for help with assets. In the meantime, those other two rom hack projects do share code with s2cdr, so while it's recieved no new features since the last release, it is recieving bug fixes now and then.
@@Pacca64 i see so basically sonic 2 cd remix isnt really scrapped, its just an extremely large project.. i understand.. if u wanna scrap the project all together, then its ok, hopefully you won't but, best of luck with the other 2 projects
@@MontyMoleLoreMaster In Sonic games, you free animals by destroying the robots that hold them inside. Burning down an orphanage isn't a good comparison since the orphanage is there to take care of the orphans. But robots don't take care of what they're holding inside
The badnik itself is based on a modified motobug yeah. Their simple design makes it difficult to imagine them doing much else X3 If I had animations for the claw, maybe I could've had them reach out to pinch the player or something, but Mean Bean Machines intro doesn't go that far with them.
