Sonic REMIX album! Beautiful tracks remixed from the Sonic CD OST. Track 08. Along with Techno Power Mix, these 2 are my least favorite on the album. I'm not just a techno person.
Why not both? Classic Sonic games with the 90s jams, and Modern with Crush 40 and stuff. And hey, Mania having SCD stages and remixes just might be a sign of things like that to come.
I don't think anyone's pointed this out yet: The sound effect at 1:10 and the electric flute melody shortly after that seems to be a reference to the bird sound effects from R2 Present.
Exactly they're references to 808 state who used a lot of animal sounds in their track called pacific, Masafumi took lots of inspiration from the track when making R2 present and this track which is most likely the good future which heavily links this track to R2 GF
Dubious Depths.... this song fits that name so well. This is a great start to the year for Sonic fans. And from what I can tell, it's gonna keep getting better!
i love this song. it just reminds me of back when the time when people loved sonic. im serious, japan was in serious LOVE with sonic. song dedications, tributes, its just amazing how the world was in love with this small smiling hedgehog...now it seems he wont come back to be loved like that ever again its very sad to me i could cry.
@@KrazeeTime Not to be pessimistic but if Sega were serious about Sonic being loved they would have put much more effort in doing so by now. I hate to say it but unless their is a change in management, I don't see Sega giving the Sonic series the comeback it deserves. They repeatedly skip on great opportunities and continue to churn out problematic releases. I just enjoy what we got as a Sonic fan, not hoping for anything in near future. You can always dream
Guys I feel like I'm on a distant planet, riding waves to a great beyond where there are no limits to what adventures life offers. If you want a picture of what I'm talking about, look at the first couple special stages in Sonic CD. This is some imaginative shit!
This music really gives me vibes of when Sonic was popular in the 90's. I'm also glad that we have 2 pieces of R2 in this whole album. ("Sonic Stream" is a remix of R2's Good Future theme)
@@jonathanhargraves2241 The other piece is in Techno Power Mix, it can be found somewhere at 3:18. This could be what remains of the bad future theme for R2.
@@tedymanyt I mean I get that most of the melody's are different, yeah, but the chords at the beginning are exactly the same. The stuff on this album never tends to be too direct anyways.
@@SlushiFoxEdits all this guy did was talk a bunch of theories, but without any actual proof. No other song in this album was reused from Sonic CD and they're all remixes, so why would this track be THE good future of R2? I mean yeah, they sure sound similar, but that's only because both are inspired by the same song (Pacific by 808 state) but no, this isn't directly related to R2 at all.
@FlipeTheBased what about the bad future track of R2 found in the Techno Power Mix (at 3:18) ? That track was not featured in Sonic CD at all, and still while there’s no "proof" for it actually being the bad future of R2 (as far as I know) you can still see that the main melody sounds almost identical to one of the background instruments found in the R2 present theme (which I’m pretty sure has been confirmed)
@@republicsrpska2527 that's in fact a remix of the present theme, but it for sure isn't the original bad future theme. If you listen to Techno Power Mix, none of the tracks there are the bad future mixes. In fact, all of them are just remixes of the present themes, and it's no different with R2.
Everyone is saying this could be R2's Good Future, but that's not confirmed yet. It sounds more optimistic, yeah, and i know this is a remix, but some of the instruments sounds have that past vibe and the composition also sounds more "simple". I guess time will tell which one is it. But definetely this is a R2 theme leftover
Both Dubious Depths theme and this song were inspired by a 808 state's song called Pacific, but you can clearly tell Little Planet's theme was more worked on and is way more original while Sonic Stream feels like a direct remix/reference to Pacific. That explains the similarity, but no, it's not related to R2 at all.
Well it's definitely a reimagining at most, that's for sure. It's not actually what would've been the good future mix, and I hope no one actually believes it's the good future mix. But, I bet this has elements that would've been used in Dubious Depths' good future mix.
This just screams "90S!!!" and that is a good thing. This makes me think of Nostalgic stuff... for example 2 years ago when i started playing Minecraft, I dont even know why.
While this only has some loose similarities to the D.A. Garden/R2 music, I do believe it is a rendition, remix, or reimagining of what once was the Good Future R2 track. It feels like it takes ideas from the D.A. Garden track and spins them into a whole full-length trance journey (could this count as trance music? or just techno?). The bassline is somewhat similar to the main bassline from D.A. Garden but far more uplifting.
Awesome song, definitely gives me the feeling of the mysterious Dubious Depths zone. We're all trying to image what the stage would have looked like, with only the rainbow waterfall sketch as a reference. I think the stage would have been some kind of ancient paradise, with the purpose of the zone lost to time. It makes me think of our own ancient mysteries on Earth, like the pyramids...
This is not a remix of Dubious Depths and the original good future theme was likely never made as the level was scrapped really early in development, to the point it probably only ever had concept arts and the present theme done.
I heard this song song six years ago and put it together then but i thought i was crazy for thinking this was a good future it was the bird that gave it away to me
@TIBdOBiNSON MCgLOBiNSON it's of the D.A. Garden music, although honestly I'd describe these tracks less as remixes and more as just using the original songs as motifs
This song is not the good future of Dubious Depths. The song literally comes from an album called "Sonic Remix"! so it could be a remix of the present or from good future.
That's the thing they are already made those plebs at sega refuse to release them I don't even think Masafumi has the rights to the tracks so he/she can't just drop them
I have a theory that that this actually is r2 good future remix because the picture that we got was like rainbow waterfall and for the song being called sonic stream and considering allmost every level would be base off sonic 1 designs except quartz quadrant and wacky workbench, gives me and idea that r2's good future would look like a futuristic version of marble zone and have rainbow rivers and waterfalls and a futuristic laboratory style and the bad future would be a rundown laboratory with the water being polluted like Palmtree picnic and the background would look like tidel tempest bad future, and not to mention the beta map design of every bad future level in the game including r2 with how much the level was polluted by Eggman, it's possible that r2 or dubious depths as were calling it now would have been sonic cd version of marble zone, however the past was probably never finished in time before it was cut from the game, and their excuse for removing it was because it ran to slow, which doesn't make sense because marble zone itself was a very slow level so it doesn't add up so I'm not really sure what to think their
@depronace This song posess pieces of R2 good future music (at least a remix), R2 is indeed a dungeon level like marble zone, the level was most likely scrapped because of memory limitation not because it was "too slow", if you're refering to Jim Tretheway interview, don't trust this, Hidden Palace from Sonic 2 was also scrapped because of Quality or design concerns.
@@GigantoGaming801 no my idea is they called it sonic stream as a reference to the concept art for r2, at least for the good future with the rainbow rivers purple Bridges, I knew it was a scrap version of marble zone for the game, but it's weird because in sonic 1 8 bit marble zone was also planed for that game but was also scraped
@@xuift Nope because Labyrinth Zone exist and Wacky Workbench too same for Scrap Brain. The most likely reason is memory limitation tho i understand your opinion.
Oh boy I think my pc was hacked by Google, because yesterday I've found this marvelous ost in a old HD of my pc and made a backup while listening to it and today I've got a notification for the same ost, wtf Google 🤯
this sounds like some music material that i can see be used in a true sequel to sonic CD where dr robotnik has fucked up with the time stones again and really twisted shit up so sonic has to there and kick his ass
Aprenda sobre acordes, escolha bem os instrumentos (sintetizadores eram bem usados nessa época), pegue algumas músicas e use como referência, e vá treinando até ficar bom.
Except they weren't terrible. Clumsy sometimes, but not bad. I haven't played the Saturn era yet, but I know the Adventure games are good (and deep), and Heroes is fun.
how can it never even exist if it shows that r1 skips to r3. Although most likely it wasn’t implemented or was and the music wasn’t, who knows, if r2 never existed then collision chaos would just be r2. And the whole discovery wouldn’t even exist either. I know you said what if but it still wouldn’t make sense.
My guess is that it never made it pass the concept stages and that only the music tracks, concept art, and the fact that some of its assets was all the closest that we unfortunately might have for the rest of time, and also the fact that no prototypes of cd contains any data for dubious depths but that's my guess of it.
@@powerONdelta Basically the chord progression is the same as d.a garden but with a more positive vibe, same for the bass AND the handclaps (only wwz past and d.a garden have them)
...REALLY? Get Over The Past And Step Into The Future! Sonic Has Grown Past His Genesis Days To Bigger & Better Things! Colors, Generations, And MANY Others Are FANTASTIC! Give 'Em A Go Sometime...
In Scale the Sonic Adventure plot is no different from the Sonic 3 and Knuckles plot. Only difference is that there is Voice over to emphasize the story. Sonic 3 was Just as dark as well. Angel Island being burned down, Various wreaks and crashes throughout. Explosions out the ass, and A Prophetic picture of Sonic beating Robotnik during the battle with knuckles. Of course as CHILDREN we didn't notice it, but it's EASY to see as adults.
Hello, does anyone know the name of this sound effect that plays in the song at minute 1:11? It's because I want to ask an AI to make a song for me with this sound effect, but I don't know the name of this sound effect. (sorry the bad english, i live on brazil)
É um tipo de beep, clássico de músicas eletrônicos do Masafumi Ogata (Criador da música) Edit: é uma flauta “eletrônica”. Ou simplesmente uma flauta com toque eletrônico
After all these years it’s been under our noses. Dubious Depths or whatever lol. can’t believe it either after the tweets but I had to give the 8bit video a watch to!
@soaringstars314 the Dubious Depths GF track was supposedly intermixed with the Collision Chaos GF track for this remix, I personally can’t really hear it but it has been pointed out by others
Meh it's an excuse plot, and At least they were easy to follow. Unless You're four, and again. You obviously take them waaaay to seriously if you believe that THOSE Were the worst Sonic Games. Those aren't even the Worst Sonic Games of All Time. Sonic Genesis (GBA) and Sonic Labyrinth take that title. At the The Adventure Titles, had Sonic Speed, and Physics based gameplay (Though it was slightly Omitted in SA2 due to being too buggy.)
My Favorite Sonic Games are Adventure and Sonic Generations...I don't hate the Modern games, at ALL. I Like Adventure, and even Heroes was...meh to me...I dispise Shadow and 06, but that's because they are legitimately not well crafted in terms of the massive amounts of bugs, and the like.
