@@Lumiesfinetoonot really, he thinks sonic dies in frontiers and he basically reacts exactly like this. his words were something along the lines of “too bad i didn’t get to finish him myself but good riddance either way”
It's funny, it's the exact opposite way he reacts in the idw comics. When starline tries to blow up sonic with a bomb he tricks sonic into activating eggman is enraged to the point of almost murdering starline for trying to steal his victory
@@Shade400 I remember it being more of a "we don't do things that way" regarding the trap as unfair. It was indeed not something Eggman would do, he would have put a timer on it and paint it like him, instead Starlight wanted him dead once and for all with a deadly instantaneous bomb.
Alfred always nail his role as Eggman, I really adore his character interpretation. The funny part is Eggman has been tortured by the same blue blur of a mammal for 33 years straight, he doesn't even care about who or how Sonic will be killed. HE JUST WANTS HIM DED!!!
I can’t help but think Amy’s crying was a reference to Kung-Pow: Enter the Fist (for anyone who doesn’t know what that is, it’s a satire parody/dub of a Chinese kung-fu movie that tries to be as nonsensical as possible. It’s a hilarious movie though, I recommend it if you just wanna laugh)
I feel like he'd act as if he didn't care, but would then lie awake at night while seething over losing his chance to prove his superiority. Maybe he'd even go for the next best thing and antagonize whoever did finish the job because defeating the guy who beat Sonic would mean that he'd also be better than Sonic by proxy.
Eggman? He'd probably be grumpy, more mad his win was stolen, then move on with the whole "conquer the world" thing. Remember, the man actually has a gameplan beyond Sonic. No, no, it'd be Metal that gets the most pronounced reaction. His entire existence is defined by "Must beat Sonic to be the *real* Sonic". Thus, something robs him of that, he'd likely go full Terminator to get revenge for the Blue Blur, thus also vicariously proving himself the better Sonic.
Eggman in the IDW comics literally threatens Starline because he almost killed Sonic for him and goes on to say that the only one allowed to kill Sonic would be himself I really don't think his pride allows for it any other way lol
He's so done that he's like: "took long enough..." I love how when Alfred Coleman started voicing Eggman he was just being silly, but over time got more into character while still being funny af. If Mike Pollock should ever step away from voicing Robotnik I would definitely nominate Alfred Coleman to be the next voice actor. Just imagine him saying: "I am Dr. Robotnik, the most evilest genius in the whole world and I am taking those precious emeralds! Give them to me, I want them right now! I am taking them and there is nothing you can do to stop me!"

I watch this every clip every time I see it, I've had to have watched it over 10 times now and Alfreds reaction of just a content "meh!" Still gets me every time.

Modern Eggman would definitely want to kill Sonic himself, but cartoon Dr. Robotnik was hoping that rat would drop from anything at all as long as it killed him for good, Sonic could choke on a chili dog and Robotnik would be happy and make a national holiday dedicated to those things in spite.
A fun character study, eggman and the joker are complete opposites of an arch-nemesis, where joker leans into the arch, and eggman just takes the nemesis

This is actually inaccurate to egg man's character weirdly. He has admitted before that he could just carpet bomb sonic and everyone he loves, but that wouldn't be fun
