For all the bashing Forces got for its level design, why do people think it’s worse than Black Knight? Upon looking at these levels again, Black Knight is straight up lazier than Forces. It’s all flat, and could be finished in the same time if they didn’t plaster so many enemies in the stage.
No Name Available I only bring up the Level Design because it’s the biggest complaint that I see with Forces. I wanted to like Black Knight, but if the level design is bogged down by the sword combat, I can’t. It’s more shoved down your throat than the weapons in Shadow and Forces. To each is own I guess. I’m just surprised that everyone complained about Forces level design, yet they gave Black Knight a pass, despite being just as flat and linear.
@@gameman5804 I think people are bitchin more at forces level design cause its treated more as main series sonic game while black knight is more or less a spin off. Or they could probably just not remember black knights straight foward level design lol
Broey The problem with that though is that a lot of Sonic Games, especially in the Wii era, were also extremely experimental. Look at Sonic Unleashed and tell me that it wasn't experimenting with the beat 'em up genre, and that was half of the game. Saying that Forces is treated as a main series game more isn't an excuse to ignore Black Knights level design. Not even many reviews of this game touch on the level design as far as I know.
@@gameman5804 yeah and tbh unleashed is my favourite sonic game, forces plays it way too safe in terms of everything and I think people can look past the bland level design in black knight for the music and story and general other stuff. But I am not of those people I must say lol
