Ahh the 90s, where every single animated show had to have a really awesome rock theme song and Alternative Rock ruled the charts with awesome bands like The Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo, Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Sixpence none the richer and The Cardigans.

There were the days when kids were into Pokémon and silly bands At least silly bands were fashionable Fidget spinners are glorified spinning tops with no spinning point And kids are seeing how fast they can spin it! Are you serious? What happened to spinning tops? Now they've devolved to spinning a wheel that just spins Humanity is doomed

um no Sonic Sat Am? Like it was seriously an amazing show and very dark for its time, also it was one of the few shows of the 90's that has a linear storyline. Also its the entire basis of the sonic comics from archie....or it was for a very very long time. (Seriously im not a sonic fanboy, i only played the games up to sonic 2 of the sega)

Joseph Gillespie It wasn't that dark for its time. Why? Batman: The Animated Series and Gargoyles were on air at the same time. The only thing really dark about it was the fact that the bad guy technically already won.

and 90% of the show was set in a dark distopic land, and had the robotization concept ad many of the scenes gave much tention if sonic or the FF's was going to be discovered by robotnik's robots, and if they that wa they were going to do...

I got the SatAM series, Adventures, and Underground on DVD a couple of years ago because why not. I remember not really liking SatAM when I was a kid, but it and Adventures have aged pretty well, IMO; they both have some genuinely funny moments that got some good laughs out of me. Underground, on the other hand, is a complete fucking mess. It's one of those things that makes you squirm and blush with vicarious embarrassment.

i actually love underground, it's in beetween satam and Aosth, having a really well made story, and good character development, and the premise, but having Aosth's quorky humor and the ocacional nonsense, the only thing i disliked is that most songs were bad only the opening is good yet it still has the cheesyness and cringe factor other songs in this show have.

Am I the only one who loved Sonic Underground? And this isn't nostalgia goggles, I just watched it a year or 2 ago. They had an interesting idea, the characters had good backstories, and even with the immense plot holes it was enjoyable.

I loved Sonic X as a kid, it's my introduction to the Sonic franchise (and I still like it, it has a cool art style and is more nicely animated than others. They really doubled down on Sonic's speed which is always exciting to watch) and I also liked Sonic Underground but didn't get to watch it as much as X.

I am by no means a 90s kid, but I grew up absolutely obsessed with Sonic. We had a Sega Genesis and I played those Sonic games all the time. My favorite video game was and still is Sonic Adventure 2: Battle for the Gamecube. Personally, Sonic was the best thing about my childhood.

Genesis was my first console, a hand-me-down in 98 when my cousin got an N64. The following year, my neighbors got a PSone for christmas, and I got their SNES. My parents felt I only needed one system at the time, so they gave the Genesis back to my cousin. I had great games on both systems, but you know what they say: you never forget your first. That being said, I love both of them to death, and only wish there were more quality games for both systems.

I have to admit I was Nintendo kid, the first console I had was the NES and had pretty much every Nintendo console since. However virtually everything else I had was Sonic related, bead spreads, clothes, towels, toys and even collected Sonic the Comics (weird British ones not the actual Archie comics, although the British ones did also have stories about Shinobi, Decap Attack, Rocket Knight, and Streets of Rage, until they stopped caring, got rid of all other Sega brands and recapped the Sonic stories from the beginning). The only Sega console I ever had was a Game Gear.

I was surprised you didn't mention the Sonic the Hedgehog comics, currently the longest running comic book (without a reboot/ new #1) on the shelves, and how it's visuals have evolved from looking like the original cartoon to a more manga-like style. I enjoyed this overview of the different cartoons and I agree that "Underground" has a very weird plot.

I remember watching Sonic Underground. The weirdest part of it was listening to Sonia (the girl hedgehog/Sonic's sister) during episodes that involve her love-interest. All because Jaleel White was her voice actor for speaking, and listening to him swoon as a princess was awkward as I pictured Urkel the whole time.
